Thankfully—or unfortunately—Black Star had been nearby. He just finished watering somebody’s garden. Gardening was something Black Star prided himself on—something he was very upfront about. Not to mention, his gardening skills were practically spread around Japan thanks to some desperate people wanting to cash in on to restore the school’s already fragile reputation. “No need to pay me. I’m happy I was able to help. Besides, I think the plants are happy for my help too, so that’s more than enough payment.” Black Star gave a kind smile. “Remember, these particular plants are ones that could be considered water hungry, so make sure you water them at least three times a day, with approximately four hour intervals between each watering. Otherwise, just follow the basics.” Black Star explained, with the person thanking him and allowing Black Star to leave without so much as a sound or worry. Well, that’s what he WOULD do if not for him noticing Bakugo. Black Star wasn’t good at body language on most days—he wasn’t Makoto, after all—but he could practically read Bakugo’s body language clearly as though it was a mere book. He’s been around enough people to know the signs of being upset. ‘He seems upset... Maybe I should talk to him? He could be lonely, after all.’ Black Star mentally reasoned. Approaching Bakugo, Black Star takes a deep breath and offers another smile. “Pardon me, but sir, are you alright?” Black Star asked. “I couldn’t help but notice you seemed upset, so that’s why I’m asking.” Black Star added, not immediately recognizing Katsuki as a student of U.A., or a hero for that matter.

Katsuki felt his stomach drop at the announcement of what their next class would be.
Hostage scenarios. But not a civilian rescue hostage scenario - rather, what to do if you are taken hostage.
He clenched his fists so hard his nails cut into his palms. It was the only way he could keep focusing on the rest of Aizawa’s words. His head was spinning a little. He couldn’t go to Aizawa about it though, right? He couldn’t take the day off sick, or ask for something else to do, or any of the other ‘solutions’ that came to him, because that would be admitting defeat.
His experience at Kamino just proved to him that he needed to know that kind of thing anyway. So he couldn’t back down, right? He had to attend that class. He had to.
He was almost insulted when Aizawa approached him later to let him know he would be allowed to skip - but only if he attended a therapy session for the duration of the class, focused on overcoming that particular trauma. There was no way he could do that. He had to attend that class…!

“...I feel as though I could snap a neck or five.” Black Star cheerfully admits. “Uh, what?” Futaba is concerned. “I support that proposition.” Yusuke responded without thinking, and then put a hand over his mouth. “Do not commit such horrible act, Star!” He says firmly. “Oh, I’m not. But I might if my rage boils any worse.” Black Star smiles innocently.

“I see...” Yusuke sighed with Futaba. “That certainly will make things difficult.” Yusuke admitted. “Well, regardless of who it was, I think they’ll come and find you eventually.” Futaba admitted. “For now, I think you should stick with us. In case you remember something or you recognize them in the crowded areas we’re going to...” Futaba’s face became drained of color. “I forgot that we were going to have to go through Shibuya underground!” Futaba admitted. “Who turned up the difficulty to super soul crushing hard mode?!” Futaba whined, with Yusuke tuning her complaints out.
“Actually, Midoriya-kun, there is something I would like to show you.” Yusuke noted and pulled out his phone. He went through the photos until he landed upon one in particular. “The physical painting is currently at Leblanc. I would have asked you to see it in person, but, as you’ve established, you’re unfortunately going to be unable to come with us to Leblanc to see it in person. So I believe a photo copy of it will have to suffice.” Yusuke admits as he presents the photo to Izuku Midoriya. “This is what drove me to capture the beauty of the human heart as an artist: the Sayuri.” Yusuke finishes his explanation to Izuku, and the photo in the picture is a woman cradling a child. The mother has a red dress and long hair, staring at the child she’s holding with a loving look in her eyes. Once Futaba sees the photo, she immediately calms down. She does not want to imagine what Yusuke would be like if he snapped.
“Even in photo form, that painting is still beautiful...” Futaba admits. “Indeed.” Yusuke smiles gently, before he shakes his head. “Regardless, we should be returning to Black Star. Izuku, if it doesn’t burden you, would you mind accompanying us? I know you much rather wait here for your friend to find you, but I believe you’re more likely to find your friend if you’re in a busy place rather than this silent and empty one.” Yusuke asked Izuku and suggested to him.
starsandkindness:
“I see.” Yusuke sounded a bit sad. He just met Izuku, yet he felt as though he was asking them to leave. Although, something didn’t sit right with Yusuke, but he couldn’t put his finger or paint brush on what it was. “Actually, maybe we can find them on the way to our stops. We’ll have to go through Shibuya station to get to Yusuke’s place, so maybe we’ll find him there. We’re technically going to four places, so maybe we could find them on our way to those four places!” Futaba suggests. “Oh! And maybe you can tell us what they look like so we know who to look out for!” Futaba further suggested.
Izuku seemed to shrink into himself, his shoulders tensing up as he looked at the ground. For a few moments he thought as hard as he could (his muttering increasing in pace again), trying to remember who it was that he was with a few moments ago.
But…
“I don’t… remember,” he sighed. He could tell that he was getting close to the limits of how much he could talk out loud. Even before what happened, he sometimes went nonverbal. With the muttering he didn’t know if he ever counted as truly non-verbal anymore, but talking clearly sometimes just got too hard.

“Dang it. I thought I met a real protagonist!” Futaba whined. “Well, it seems we ‘found’ Futaba…” Yusuke sighed. “I believe we should return to Black Star. He seemed a bit angry by you suddenly running off.” Yusuke says to Futaba. “Right. We gotta deliver our stuff to our places, after all.” Futaba notes. “Hey, Izuku, want to tag along?” Futaba asks Izuku. “We’re going to go to Leblanc after we deliver all our items, so if you want some free curry and coffee, you can tag along.” Futaba cheerfully says to Izuku.
That sounded nice, but, “I was… here… with a- a friend.” They could be worried about him. That, or he had freaked out and killed them and he didn’t remember it.
Izuku shuddered, clinging a little tighter to Yusuke at that thought and staring at the ground. He had to believe they were still alive. Even if he had forgotten, at that point, who it was that ‘they’ were. Someone from his class? Or one of the teachers? He didn’t know.

“Futaba Sakura. She’s the daughter of Boss, and she went to get something she forgot.” Yusuke explains as he holds Izuku’s hand to help keep him grounded. “She should be-” Yusuke began but his stomach growled. “…My apologies…” Yusuke apologized to Izuku, and scratched his stomach. “I haven’t ate in two days, I believe… I should ask Black Star if he can spare the change for something to eat.” Yusuke added, unaware that Futaba has snuck up on them.
“You’re an absolute disaster, Inari!” Futaba suddenly makes her presence known, as she holds an box of anime in her hands. Her orange hair really stood out, along with her headphones. “Mwehehehehe, already found a boyfriend, Inari?” Futaba teased Yusuke. “Midoriya-kun is nothing of the sort, Futaba-chan. I was coming to find you and heard him muttering to himself.” Yusuke explained. “Although, he does seem rather frightened…” Yusuke admits. “Eh, regardless, I didn’t think you’d be able to recruit someone with your lack of social skills, Inari.” Futaba smirked at Yusuke before turning her attention to Izuku. “I’m Futaba Sakura.” Futaba introduced herself. “However—wait a minute! That hair… Pale skin… Muttering nonstop… Boring clothes…” Futaba begin to analyze Izuku. “Are you an anime protagonist?!” Futaba asked, her analysis concluded.
At the sudden apperance of someone else, Izuku jumped and hid behind Yusuke, still holding his hand tightly. Although, the person themselves didn’t seem… all that bad. Despite his fear and the muttering, Izuku couldn’t help but laugh a little at the comment about being a protagonist.
Still, he shook his head. He was pretty sue he wasn’t that important, despite everything that had happened. “I-I’m… Izuku M-Midor-riya,” he introduced himself, doing his best to smile. Like the rest of him, it was weak and shaky.

“I see. I understand the dilemma of being lost myself, although, that was when I was mired with an artist’s block.” Yusuke admits. “Regardless of my own personal experience, Midoriya-kun, would you like to accompany me in retrieving someone with me?” Yusuke offered. “I would welcome having some additional company to retrieve them.” Yusuke added, offering his hand to Izuku after bending down low enough Izuku could reach his hand. “Additionally, I believe you would get along with them.” Yusuke added, hoping that would earn a bit more of Izuku’s trust.
Izuku wasn’t sure. His handler companion was probably looking for him… but it was better that he was with someone, rather than alone, right? Right. That was what everyone kept saying. And he thought so, too.
He nodded, taking Yusuke’s hand and using it to pull himself shakily to his feet. Once he was up, he pulled his coat a little tighter around himself, glad for the weight of it. That kept him grounded, even has his head spun a little from standing up so fast.
“Wh- Who are… you… looking f-for?”

Yusuke allowed himself to give out a deep breath. Another victim of despicable people, it appeared. “My apologies if I’m coming off as scary. That is not my intention.” Yusuke leans down and offers a hand. “Additionally, I find it fascinating that you’re able to talk as fast as you currently are.” Yusuke adds, hoping that will make Izuku trust him a bit more. “Oh, I haven’t introduced myself. My apologies for being so rude.” Yusuke bowed to Izuku. “I’m Yusuke Kitagawa, a student of Yuuei. I am currently attending there in large part thanks to an art scholarship.” Yusuke introduced himself and explained. “If I may ask, what’s your name?” Yusuke inquired.
Oh. If he was introducing himself, then- then they probably didn’t know each other before, right? Izuku calmed down just a little. He hadn’t lost anything. It was okay. He was still himself.
He took a deep breath, trying to force himself to speak clearly past the muttering. “Iz-zuku… Mid-doriy-ya…” he managed. It wasn’t really a proper introduction, but it was better than nothing.
He scooted a little further out of his hiding place, but didn’t leave it yet. “Got l-lost,” he tried to explain.

Black Star, himself, was tired. He had lowered his guard and been blindsided by a surprise shopping trip with Yusuke and Futaba, which he wouldn’t mind normally, but it had to be on a day that he needed to get fertilizer and a new watering can, along with chopping some wood for the fire place.
“I’m so tired…” Black Star whined, walking forward with a cart full of shopping bags and the other stuff he needed. “Oh damn it! I forgot something! I’m going to go get something real quick. Brb.” Futaba cheerfully ran away, making Black Star practically screech in annoyance. “FUTABA SAKURA GET BACK OVER HERE!” He unintentionally yelled, he truly was at his wits end. “I’ll go make sure Futaba-chan isn’t getting into a monumental amount of trouble, Star-kun.” Yusuke bowed to Black Star. “I’ll make sure to be back soon.” Yusuke added, as he left to follow Futaba. “Can this day get any worse…?” Black Star asked himself.
Yusuke, in his search for Futaba, passed by Izuku’s hiding spot. Unfortunately for Izuku, Yusuke overheard his muttering. “Hm? Is someone there, perhaps?” Yusuke calls out to Izuku. “I’m not here to hurt you, before you ask. I just merely heard you is all.” Yusuke adds, hoping to reassure whoever was there.
Izuku flinched, his muttering picking up speed. He didn’t recognize that voice. Should he recognize that voice? Was he forgetting something? Just how much of himself had he lost on that operating table…?
With a soft sob, barely audible through the words that kept spilling out of him, he curled up tighter in his hiding space and looked up at the stranger with wide-terrified eyes.
He… didn’t know who that was. Should he? He had already wondered that. He was going in circles again. Losing himself. Lost himself? He couldn’t remember.

@starsandkindness liked for a Nomu Izuku starter!
Someone had taken Izuku out for a walk. He remembered that much. But somewhere along the way, he had lost focus. He tried to stay lucid as much as possible, but it was so difficult. So he wasn’t surprised when he blinked and found himself alone, in an unfamiliar place.
Not surprised, but he was frightened. He didn’t… like being alone. And- And what about the person who had taken him out? (Who was that again?) He couldn’t remember what happened to them. Did… Did he hurt them? He wasn’t sure.
Confused and scared, he found a small space to tuck himself into, to hide. Not that it worked very well, considering he couldn’t stop muttering, giving away his location.

“I’m about to kill you, Futaba.” Black Star admitted. “What?! It was only sixty thousand yen!” Futaba protested. “Indeed. My supplies were just a mere two thousand. I was quite shocked, myself, at their humble price.” Kitagawa adds. “Somebody save me...” Black Star whines. He didn’t agree to take these two shopping, but lo and behold, he was practically forced to.
Yusuke Kitagawa and Futaba Sakura are available!
Status on Haru and Makoto: Unknown, supposedly alive from what is heard through the grapevine.

“Alright. Let me start at the beginning.” Black Star was sitting up straight. “You know how I said that a mental shutdown is the removal of all of someone’s desires?” Black Star reminded Bakugo. “The way to remove them is to enter their palace. A palace is someone’s distorted desires made into it’s own world. If I could say it in simple turns, it’s how you view some place. Like, maybe you could see a school as a castle, or the Diest building as your own luxury cruise ship meant to toss aside those who bear no further use to you.” Black Star sounded pissed by the end of that explanation of a palace. He quickly composed himself, though.
“By entering a palace, I can use my quirk—no, I’m lying to your face when I say that. I can use my persona when I’m inside a palace, which, in simpler terms, is my inner rebel.” Cryptic. A mystery. Well, if Bakugo wanted to play a game of detective, now might be a fun time. “My persona was born from my betrayal of society... of my father.” Black Star adds. That didn’t help matters. “When I was in his palace, I grew to understand that father merely saw me as a tool for his own gain. He was willing to sell me off to a woman that could help him enter the world of politics. I fully awakened to Shinobi when I hardened my resolve to defeat my corrupt father.” Black Star explains. “Ever since then, I’ve been helping a group called the Phantom Thieves. You may have heard of them. They’re my friends, and I trust them with my life. Even though we were framed for the murder of my father, we knew that something was wrong. He was targeted by the original culprit behind the mental shutdowns and psychotic breakdowns.” Black Star had to shed a tear.
“Back to the main topic... You heard my phone. It mentioned that two names I mentioned were candidates. That means they have palaces, palaces which we need to steal their treasure from.” Black Star added. “And by stealing their treasure, we trigger a change of heart in them: make them confess and feel guilty about all their crimes.” Black Star added. “If we invoke a change of heart in Shigaraki, then we could cause him to—as younger people say nowadays—spill the tea, sis.” Black Star smiled at Bakugo.
starsandkindness:
“…I see.” Black Star sighs. “Thank you anyways.” Black Star bows to Bakugo. “…Actually, I shouldn’t leave you in the dark any longer… Bakugo, remember how I was talking about Mental Shutdowns and Psychotic Breakdowns earlier and how you were safe as your desires weren’t distorted?” Black Star decided he would explain it to Bakugo as best as he could. “Well, that ties into what I was just doing. We should probably sit down. This will at least take a good while to explain.” Black Star admits to Bakugo, leading him over to a couch. It looked… really comfy.
Katsuki sighed, letting himself sink down into the comfortable couch. He supposed he could listen or whatever. His compliance was so good recently, like a good little nomu. He shuddered, scratching at his skin again, picking at the parts that hadn’t shed yet. Not that he was going to just leave them lying around. Once he had enough of a handful, he used small explosions to burn them to dust.
