Today I finished my Academic Writing assignment and then decided to start transcribing by hand my thesis assignment.

Thoughts on my first full week of uni:

Good professors make even a major you don't love something you enjoy.

Taking courses from other majors can help with the burnout.

The library is the best place to go to after class to work even if it's just for an hour.

I still hate the summer

stats exam in 2 days means lots of studying today. it feels like some of this stuff we learned forever ago, but I remember the concepts way more than I thought, so this is a good sign. Means that study sessions tomorrow and Thursday will be way less heavy lifting and more so a review.

i got back from Atlanta on Saturday and am slowly getting back into the swing of things! i have some writing i'd like to get done, but other things (mostly coursework and future presentation related) are more of a priority right now. it'll all work out in the end :)

btw march flew by like 2 girlies in a nissan altima, i'm not sure how to feel

2. do you prefer spending your holidays in your country or travel abroad?

while my country is lovely, i love travelling abroad. seeing entirely new things and being in new places is such a blessing and rarity. i cherish every opportunity i have to do so + summer holidays are unbearable here since it's so hot all the time. can't do anything :'(

11. favourite native writer/poet?

can't say i read a lot of Portuguese authors, but mby José Saramago? i've read 3 of his books and enjoyed each one. Fernando Pessoa was also a lot of fun to study in school

Went to this super cute restaurant after work. It’s on the top floor of Bal in Kyoto ☕️

I moved to Kyoto a few months ago, and I have so much time on my hands, I ended up reading 15 books since then.

Other than textbooks, I have read 15 books for fun since I was in high school. So I’ve fallen back in love with fictional worlds

Wandering through the small museum in the basement of the palais trying to decipher the Greek writing on maps. Easter, prelude: A sunny day out in County Durham.

I took a weekend off for a bit of much-needed leisure before launching into work again. The sun has at last graced England with its presence and I had to make the most of it.

Auckland Castle was beautiful, and wonderfully restored. Greatly interesting to learn about its history as well as that of its many bishops.

also, got the SD grades back and 16/20 on the exam, meaning i'll end with 18! i'm probably still gonna retake the exam cause i know i can do better but yk, that's pretty good already!!
