lack of interaction ≠ lack of interest. sometimes, life gets in the way, or my muse doesn't cooperate with me the way i want, or i'm simply too anxious to take the first step. but just because we currently don't have any interactions going, doesn't mean that i'm not interested in writing with you and your muse(s). maybe the perfect opportunity hasn't presented itself yet, or i couldn't think of a good enough plot but that never ever has anything to do with you. after all, we're mutuals for a reason and that's usually because i enjoy seeing you on my dash and would love to write with you ― whenever that may happen.

Dimitri had a flicker of a smirk at the corner of his lip at her remark. A fleeting one, as it disappeared rather quickly, but it was there all the same. Five years... To an outsider, it was quite a chunk of time. But to Dimitri it seemed so small. After all that had happened, it seemed like Byleth was gone for much longer than that. Between the escape from Garreg Mach, being framed and imprisoned, the escape and then living on the land, losing himself...had it only been five years?
As he listened to Byleth’s comments, he could feel his heart beat. Usually something so easily ignored, but now it was noticeably stronger...a tad faster. She had faith in him even when he had none for himself... The first reaction was to question why, after he had done nothing but fail his people for years - but other emotions were quickly bubbling over... Appreciation. Pride.
The King took a deep breath before replying to her to steady the nerves. “I worry not only for my own people, but of Edelgard as well. We have known each other for such a long time. Even if she does not remember that, I certainly do. Despite everything she has done, how much hatred I harboured for her and her actions... I fret that I may not be able to do what needs to be done if she cannot be convinced to stand down... That I would be too weak, let those who are counting on me, from the past and the present-” He took a moment to sigh lightly. “That I would let them down... That I would let you down, Professor.”
Dimitri straightened up, as if to try and keep away any chance of crumbling to these emotions again. “I am just being childish, though. There is no other way...” He spoke as if trying to convince himself that the only way this could end was if Edelgard was dead, rather than imprisoned.

// Sorry I’ve been so distant. Between my 4 month old teething and going through a regression right in the middle of sleep training - and my 4 year old getting more rowdy now the heat is here AND planning a wedding in the background, I’m exhausted in the evenings. Only just have enough time to play video games for an hour or so.

// Sorry I keep disappearing with nothing in the Queue. My son, daughter and fiance all came down with a stomach bug so I've been keeping them going. Also found out from the doctors that my newborn daughter has a heart murmur and needs to be referred to hospital for more checks to ensure its nothing serious. It's gotten me worried though since she's got other issues going on and this could be why... So not been sleeping and not had much time to myself lately. I'm working on it. Thank you for your patience.
