We need to further the discussion about Eric painting Pam's nails because I just KNOW you'll capture the moment perfectly😭

Please forgive me for answering this about a century later.

Imagine this:

Pam's girlfriend is out of town and she needs a fill, badly. You can't get her to go anywhere with chipped polish. But Eric has plans, and he needs his best girl at his side. He turns up at her mansion and finds her lounging on a crushed velvet sofa wearing a sheer pink dressing gown and scrutinizing the looks from the Met Gala on Instagram.

"What do I have to do to get you out of le Petit Trianon tonight?" Eric asks, his tone somewhere between wry amusement and total exasperation.

"I chipped a nail," Pam says flatly. She holds out her hand to show him the chipped red lacquer on her long nails, carefully filed into sharp points. "I can't see Sophie-Anne looking like this."

Eric takes her hand in his and inspects the damage. "So repaint them."

"Perhaps if it was my left hand, I could," Pam muses. "I always make Carmela paint the right one." She rises to her feet and saunters over to her dresser, drumming her nails on the gilded finish. "Give Sophie-Anne my regards."

"Pam."

There is something urgent in Eric's voice. She half expects him to command her to accompany him anyway, but he falls silent. Pam brushes her fingertips over the bottle of Louboutin nail polish with its long stiletto cap. She could make him grovel, if she wanted to. But she suspects Sophie-Anne will do the same, even if she is there to act as a firewall.

"Fine," Pam says. "But you have to paint my nails."

Eric shrugs. "How hard can it be?"

Soon she is dipping her nails in a crystal bowl filled with acetone, watching the lacquer dissolve into flecks of blood while Eric inspects the bottle of polish as if it contains a magical elixir.

"Women and their alchemy," he muses.

Pam smirks and swipes the rest of the lacquer off her fingernails with a bit of cotton. "Give me enough time, and I'll turn anything into gold."

"You wouldn't need long."

Once her nails are clean, Pam lays back on the couch and stretches out her hand. Eric blinks down at her wiggling fingers for a moment and then lowers himself to one knee, setting the bottle on the floor and clasping her hand in his own. He glances up at her, blonde brows furrowed in concentration.

"Hold still."

Pam gives him a catlike grin but remains silent. Eric draws the applicator from the bottle, carefully brushing off the excess. He holds her index finger firmly and swipes the polish with fine, precise movements, coating her pointed nail with the crimson lacquer.

"You've done this before," Pam observes as he continues along her hand.

Eric shakes his head no, finishing up her ring finger.

"It's war paint, Pamela," he says. "For a different kind of battle."

Pam watches him quietly while he applies the second coat. In his eyes, she sees the storm of memory swirling over a vast blue sea. A thousand years is enough to drown even the strongest man. She stretches out her free hand and brushes her fingertips over his freshly shaved cheek. Eric screws the cap back onto the bottle and kisses her fingertips.

"Let's go to war."
