Something new.
Waking up alone isn’t ideal but you’re handling it the best you can.
“Fuck an athlete,” you muttered to yourself as you left the hotel you’d just checked out of and headed toward the nearest coffee shop. Caffeine was essential and you needed a high to stave off the low he’d left you with. “No more, no fucking thanks.”
“No more, no fuc–oh shit!”
It wasn’t the first time you’d imagined a run in with a man you’d thought about, but it was the first time it actually happened.
“Shit, shit,” he dropped to the floor to pick up the personal bag that you’d dropped, “i’m so sorry, I wasn’t paying attention.”
“It’s not your fault,” you nearly knocked heads with him before realizing who was in front of you, “I should’ve been more careful.”
“Well, regardless, I'm sorry for bumping into you.”
“Thanks,”
Fuck. This isn’t just a normal meeting of strangers.
Matthew Tkachuk is standing in front of you and he’s apologizing.
“It’s not you, it’s definitely me, definitely me,” you stutter out and feel stupid but he smiles anyway.
It feels like it should be more intimate. Like he should try his best (and succeed) to whisk you off of your feet and take you to a magical place where hockey partners don’t have to do anything other than exist. That doesn’t happen though, and it’s not something that will ever happen.
You’re not a hockey partner and you never will be. Get that shit out of your head.
“You good?”
Matthew’s face comes into frame and you can’t help but feel a little let down by your own fantasy.
“Yeah, sorry, sorry for bothering you.”
He laughs, and the sound of it feels like the heavens open up, “again, you didn’t do anything. Let me pay for your drink.”
“That’s really not necessary, really.”
You’re not doing a very good job of keeping your cool.
“Fine, if you want to play hardball,” Matthew chuckles and turns toward the baristas behind the counter, “i’ll do you one better.”
He winks at you and you feel close to passing out.
“I’ll pay for every drink that everyone in the building orders,” he turns to you and smiles, “as long as she gives me her number.”

Feedback please, Who should she leave?

Not Really - Sebastian Sallow
Sometimes you've got to put yourself out there.
Tumblr media
You’re not interested in him, not really.
Sure, there’s something about him that when he smiles sends a ripple down your chest and light up his eyes and when he speaks he lights an actual fire in your chest and when he really gets into talking about what he enjoys but you don’t care for any of that.
You don’t care for him at all, as much as you want to push it, not really.
He’s no one to you, and as far as Sebastian Sallow goes, he can get fucked.
That’s what you’ve convinced yourself
 because you haven’t.
But it’s not true. Nothing has ever been more true than what you actually feel for Sebastian.
“You can’t keep playing with her,” Ominis sighs, “she knows.”
“I know that,” Sebastian is irritated, “I know what I need to do.”
“Good,” Ominis chuckles and raises his wand, “you’re on your own from now on.”
**
It’s annoyingly obvious that you’re hopelessly in love with him, but life is a game, and you have to play it.
Sebastian Sallow is someone you’re absolutely enamored with, but things happen and life happens and it happened that you appear to be not interested, not really.

Reblog for attention. Thoughts?
Old Times - Jake Seresin
Tumblr media
I have not watched Top Gun Maverick yet but I am committed (thanks Tumblr) to this character (and actor because Glen Powell is ;p). I don't know any of the lingo so this is pretty basic.
Jake 'Hangman' Seresin x civilian!reader
---
This was the last thing in the entire world that you wanted to happen tonight.
Ending a four year relationship in a pretty terrible way was bad enough, so added fuel to the fire was completely unnecessary.
“Ooh, I see you seeing him. Just like old times, yeah?”
“No.”
You didn’t need or want a reminder of the last man you dated—dated being a term used incredibly loosely—before meeting your now ex fiancĂ©.
“Come oooon, look at him. Are you looking at him?”
“No.”
You lied easily, because you’d been looking at Jake fucking Seresinfrom the moment he burst into the bar. You weren’t going to divulge that information though, not even to your best friend.
“Can we get back to me? I just broke up with the man I was supposed to marry, remember?”
She chuckled but respected your wishes and waved the bartender down to order a couple of shots for the two of you.
“Of course, love, back to you and your train wreck of a love life!”
It wasn’t meant to be hurtful and you knew that, but it still kind of stung. You laughed anyway and clinked shot glasses before downing the throat burning alcohol.
###
“Just broke up with the man I was supposed to marry, remember?”
He had yet to catch your eye, kind of intentionally keeping his distance, but he heard your voice as soon as he was within earshot. He also heard the waver in it when you asked your friend to refocus on you, stating that you’d just ended the relationship.
Jake would never forget about him. Him, the person you ended your relationship with, the person you left Jake for.
He would never admit that he was happy when happened to hear you confirming the end of the relationship, but something special bloomed in his chest when he saw you again and when he heard your words.
“You gonna fucking go or what?”
Bradley, more affectionately known as Rooster, punched Jake in the shoulder.
“Go get your girl. That’s her, right?”
“How would you know?”
“I’m not an idiot, I can see you staring from a mile away. Also, the pictures you’ve plastered everywhere. Go fucking get her!”
Rooster was right. Jake should just fucking go for it. It was pretty clear that you were no longer in a relationship.
So, he did.
###
“Hey.”
You knew that voice, you had once loved that voice. That voice sent a shiver down your spine.
“Hey yourself,” you tried your best to steady your shaking hands and cool the red blush in your cheeks as you made eye contact with him.
“Long time, no see.”
“Definitely.”
The conversation wasn’t really going anywhere but just being near him had you sweating bullets.
“So I heard you’re single.”
It was the absolute dumbest fucking thing he could say and he knew it just as well as you did.
“Sorry, what? How?”
“Oh, uh, I overheard.”
“Oh, well, you know, shit happens.”
Jake openly laughed, it was the first time in years you’d seen his smile and heard his laugh and, fuck, you were hooked again. He had that power over you, probably others too, but he was so charismatic and charming that he could to get away with anything.
Not able to get away with you though, because you left him for someone else. Looking at him now and seeing him again after all these years, you had no idea why you left.
“Yeah, shit does happen. I’m sorry though.”
It was rare occurrence when Jake showed his softer side, choosing mostly to be a cocky asshole instead, but it wasn’t the first time you’d seen it.
“I wasn’t happy to see you initially, but I’m glad we spoke.”
“Me too, not the first thing obviously, but you know.”
###
You were a firm believer in love. You once thought you’d fully experienced it with your ex fiancĂ© but after tonight, you were pretty sure you experienced it someone else entirely.

Thoughts? I'd like to keep writing this character but you tell me if I'm completely off and should shut up

some people need to get their feelings hurt - T.Jost/E.Johnson
Tumblr media
Erik tries to ignore his ex girlfriend, you, running up to his former teammate and showering him with kisses and hugs. He tries hard, but it’s not so easy because he still loves you and he knows that he made a mistake.
He also knows that there’s no going back and you aren’t going to ever even think about forgiving him. You’re too wrapped up in Tyson, too engulfed in your new someone to even give a tiny thought to Erik in general.
He knows he’s lost someone special.
On the other hand, your hand, good fucking riddance.
*
“Babe? E? Erik?”
The Avalanche missed the playoffs by just a hair and Erik is distraught to say the least. He has holed himself up in the basement and he isn’t responding to you when you try to check on him.
You get tired of it quickly and almost rip the door open before bounding down the steps.
The last thing you expected to see was a random woman you’d never seen sitting naked on your partner.
Erik had literally been caught with his pants down.
“Please,” he jumped up quickly and fell to his knees just as fast because he knew what was coming, “please, baby, don’t, it isn’t what it looks like.”
He knew he was losing you.
“You’ve got to be fucking kidding me, of course it’s what it looks like, Erik!”
“It’s not, you don’t understand!”
You tolerated his presence for a few more minutes as he tried his best to squeeze a few tears out of his eyes while he pled his case. Erik claimed he didn’t want to cheat, he said he was under so much stress that he didn’t have a choice but to do so.
“We could’ve had a conversation about this, about fucking anything. You are an asshole, Erik, you are the fucking worst.”
*
Everything about him is warm and inviting. It is the first time in a long time that you feel completely safe and trusting with a partner.
It was by complete chance that he was traded the same day that you took a new job with a nice pay raise. It was also by complete chance that you ran into him, literally, and accidentally poured your hot coffee down his chest.
“Holy shit, oh holy, are you good?”
“I’m good, really, I’m sorry I ran into you.”
“I’m not,” he was as smooth as silk despite the fact that you’d accidentally dumped a cup of steaming hot latte down his chest, “I’m not mad about this at all.”
“I ruined your shirt.”
“I have plenty of others in my closet.”
*
Erik watches the two of you and tries his best not to react. On the inside, he is absolutely seething with jealousy over Tyson's closeness with you. Outside, he is doing his damndest not to show a single thing.
He knows what he did, what ended things between you, but he doesn't want to think about it. He doesn't want to even think about entertaining it. He could barely remember what she looked like, and definitely not what her name was.
It didn't matter though. The damage had been done.
The damage had been done and Erik had ruined his chance at everything. On the other hand, Tyson's chances at everything had just opened up.

Good Things - Tyson Jost (preview)
oh hello! I've been absent for reasons but I'm back now and ready to jump back into writing. Coming August 1.
--
Tumblr media
Maybe it’s a good thing? Maybe this was for the best and Tyson was meant to be here all along. It doesn’t matter that he shut himself inside his hotel room to watch the Stanley Cup Finals and didn’t come out to face anyone for a few days for any particular reason.
Maybe it’s a good thing? You had no idea the Minnesota Wild were going to hire you to be their newest social media person but holy shit, you were so excited. This got you of your parents house and into your own apartment. It also gave you the freedom to run as far away from your shitty ex as fast as you possibly could. Fuck them. This was good.
“It’s a good thing, baby. Good things are coming.”
Your mother is your best friend and you’ve never doubted anything she’s ever said. You weren’t about to start now, so you hug her fiercely before heading toward airport security and your new life.
There is a baby crying as soon as you board the plane but you aren’t bothered. You can hear the parents trying their best to soothe the crying child and when they finally do, you breathe a sigh of relief for them. It just so happens to be that the family is seated behind you and when you take your headphones off for a moment, you hear a soothing voice speaking softly.
“Shh, sweetheart, shh, sleep well. Good things are coming our way, little girl. Good things are coming.”
You had no idea what the little family sitting in front of you was going through but you couldn’t mistake the coincidence of the mother’s words with what you own had said just hours ago.
Good things are coming.

thoughts? Don't hold back! Also so much as happened in the past few months, let's talk hockey ish? Send me all the things!

People are out here pissed off like we all don’t work for money and/or happiness. Isn’t that the point?
If you aren’t satisfied with your current position, are you going to stick around because your customers/clients want you to? Or are you going to do what you feel is best for you?
