Something new.
Waking up alone isnât ideal but youâre handling it the best you can.Â
âFuck an athlete,â you muttered to yourself as you left the hotel youâd just checked out of and headed toward the nearest coffee shop. Caffeine was essential and you needed a high to stave off the low heâd left you with. âNo more, no fucking thanks.â
âNo more, no fucâoh shit!â
It wasnât the first time youâd imagined a run in with a man youâd thought about, but it was the first time it actually happened.Â
âShit, shit,â he dropped to the floor to pick up the personal bag that youâd dropped, âiâm so sorry, I wasnât paying attention.âÂ
âItâs not your fault,â you nearly knocked heads with him before realizing who was in front of you, âI shouldâve been more careful.â
âWell, regardless, I'm sorry for bumping into you.âÂ
âThanks,âÂ
Fuck. This isnât just a normal meeting of strangers.Â
Matthew Tkachuk is standing in front of you and heâs apologizing.Â
âItâs not you, itâs definitely me, definitely me,â you stutter out and feel stupid but he smiles anyway.Â
It feels like it should be more intimate. Like he should try his best (and succeed) to whisk you off of your feet and take you to a magical place where hockey partners donât have to do anything other than exist. That doesnât happen though, and itâs not something that will ever happen.Â
Youâre not a hockey partner and you never will be. Get that shit out of your head.Â
âYou good?â
Matthewâs face comes into frame and you canât help but feel a little let down by your own fantasy.Â
âYeah, sorry, sorry for bothering you.â
He laughs, and the sound of it feels like the heavens open up, âagain, you didnât do anything. Let me pay for your drink.â
âThatâs really not necessary, really.âÂ
Youâre not doing a very good job of keeping your cool.
âFine, if you want to play hardball,â Matthew chuckles and turns toward the baristas behind the counter, âiâll do you one better.â
He winks at you and you feel close to passing out.
âIâll pay for every drink that everyone in the building orders,â he turns to you and smiles, âas long as she gives me her number.âÂ

Feedback please, Who should she leave?

Not Really - Sebastian Sallow
Sometimes you've got to put yourself out there.
Youâre not interested in him, not really.Â
Sure, thereâs something about him that when he smiles sends a ripple down your chest and light up his eyes and when he speaks he lights an actual fire in your chest and when he really gets into talking about what he enjoys but you donât care for any of that.Â
You donât care for him at all, as much as you want to push it, not really.
Heâs no one to you, and as far as Sebastian Sallow goes, he can get fucked.Â
Thatâs what youâve convinced yourself⊠because you havenât.
But itâs not true. Nothing has ever been more true than what you actually feel for Sebastian.Â
âYou canât keep playing with her,â Ominis sighs, âshe knows.â
âI know that,â Sebastian is irritated, âI know what I need to do.â
âGood,â Ominis chuckles and raises his wand, âyouâre on your own from now on.âÂ
**
Itâs annoyingly obvious that youâre hopelessly in love with him, but life is a game, and you have to play it.Â
Sebastian Sallow is someone youâre absolutely enamored with, but things happen and life happens and it happened that you appear to be not interested, not really.

Old Times - Jake SeresinÂ
I have not watched Top Gun Maverick yet but I am committed (thanks Tumblr) to this character (and actor because Glen Powell is ;p). I don't know any of the lingo so this is pretty basic.
Jake 'Hangman' Seresin x civilian!reader
---
This was the last thing in the entire world that you wanted to happen tonight.Â
Ending a four year relationship in a pretty terrible way was bad enough, so added fuel to the fire was completely unnecessary.
âOoh, I see you seeing him. Just like old times, yeah?âÂ
âNo.âÂ
You didnât need or want a reminder of the last man you datedâdated being a term used incredibly looselyâbefore meeting your now ex fiancĂ©.
âCome oooon, look at him. Are you looking at him?â
âNo.â
You lied easily, because youâd been looking at Jake fucking Seresinfrom the moment he burst into the bar. You werenât going to divulge that information though, not even to your best friend.Â
âCan we get back to me? I just broke up with the man I was supposed to marry, remember?âÂ
She chuckled but respected your wishes and waved the bartender down to order a couple of shots for the two of you.Â
âOf course, love, back to you and your train wreck of a love life!âÂ
It wasnât meant to be hurtful and you knew that, but it still kind of stung. You laughed anyway and clinked shot glasses before downing the throat burning alcohol.Â
###
âJust broke up with the man I was supposed to marry, remember?â
He had yet to catch your eye, kind of intentionally keeping his distance, but he heard your voice as soon as he was within earshot. He also heard the waver in it when you asked your friend to refocus on you, stating that youâd just ended the relationship.Â
Jake would never forget about him. Him, the person you ended your relationship with, the person you left Jake for.Â
He would never admit that he was happy when happened to hear you confirming the end of the relationship, but something special bloomed in his chest when he saw you again and when he heard your words.Â
âYou gonna fucking go or what?âÂ
Bradley, more affectionately known as Rooster, punched Jake in the shoulder.Â
âGo get your girl. Thatâs her, right?â
âHow would you know?âÂ
âIâm not an idiot, I can see you staring from a mile away. Also, the pictures youâve plastered everywhere. Go fucking get her!â
Rooster was right. Jake should just fucking go for it. It was pretty clear that you were no longer in a relationship.Â
So, he did.
###
âHey.â
You knew that voice, you had once loved that voice. That voice sent a shiver down your spine.
âHey yourself,â you tried your best to steady your shaking hands and cool the red blush in your cheeks as you made eye contact with him.Â
âLong time, no see.â
âDefinitely.âÂ
The conversation wasnât really going anywhere but just being near him had you sweating bullets.Â
âSo I heard youâre single.âÂ
It was the absolute dumbest fucking thing he could say and he knew it just as well as you did.
âSorry, what? How?â
âOh, uh, I overheard.âÂ
âOh, well, you know, shit happens.â
Jake openly laughed, it was the first time in years youâd seen his smile and heard his laugh and, fuck, you were hooked again. He had that power over you, probably others too, but he was so charismatic and charming that he could to get away with anything.
Not able to get away with you though, because you left him for someone else. Looking at him now and seeing him again after all these years, you had no idea why you left.Â
âYeah, shit does happen. Iâm sorry though.â
It was rare occurrence when Jake showed his softer side, choosing mostly to be a cocky asshole instead, but it wasnât the first time youâd seen it.Â
âI wasnât happy to see you initially, but Iâm glad we spoke.â
âMe too, not the first thing obviously, but you know.âÂ
###
You were a firm believer in love. You once thought youâd fully experienced it with your ex fiancĂ© but after tonight, you were pretty sure you experienced it someone else entirely.
-
Thoughts? I'd like to keep writing this character but you tell me if I'm completely off and should shut up

some people need to get their feelings hurt - T.Jost/E.Johnson
Erik tries to ignore his ex girlfriend, you, running up to his former teammate and showering him with kisses and hugs. He tries hard, but itâs not so easy because he still loves you and he knows that he made a mistake.Â
He also knows that thereâs no going back and you arenât going to ever even think about forgiving him. Youâre too wrapped up in Tyson, too engulfed in your new someone to even give a tiny thought to Erik in general.
He knows heâs lost someone special.Â
On the other hand, your hand, good fucking riddance.Â
*
âBabe? E? Erik?âÂ
The Avalanche missed the playoffs by just a hair and Erik is distraught to say the least. He has holed himself up in the basement and he isnât responding to you when you try to check on him.Â
You get tired of it quickly and almost rip the door open before bounding down the steps.Â
The last thing you expected to see was a random woman youâd never seen sitting naked on your partner.Â
Erik had literally been caught with his pants down.Â
âPlease,â he jumped up quickly and fell to his knees just as fast because he knew what was coming, âplease, baby, donât, it isnât what it looks like.â
He knew he was losing you.Â
âYouâve got to be fucking kidding me, of course itâs what it looks like, Erik!â
âItâs not, you donât understand!â
You tolerated his presence for a few more minutes as he tried his best to squeeze a few tears out of his eyes while he pled his case. Erik claimed he didnât want to cheat, he said he was under so much stress that he didnât have a choice but to do so.
âWe couldâve had a conversation about this, about fucking anything. You are an asshole, Erik, you are the fucking worst.â
*
Everything about him is warm and inviting. It is the first time in a long time that you feel completely safe and trusting with a partner.Â
It was by complete chance that he was traded the same day that you took a new job with a nice pay raise. It was also by complete chance that you ran into him, literally, and accidentally poured your hot coffee down his chest.Â
âHoly shit, oh holy, are you good?â
âIâm good, really, Iâm sorry I ran into you.â
âIâm not,â he was as smooth as silk despite the fact that youâd accidentally dumped a cup of steaming hot latte down his chest, âIâm not mad about this at all.â
âI ruined your shirt.â
âI have plenty of others in my closet.âÂ
*
Erik watches the two of you and tries his best not to react. On the inside, he is absolutely seething with jealousy over Tyson's closeness with you. Outside, he is doing his damndest not to show a single thing.
He knows what he did, what ended things between you, but he doesn't want to think about it. He doesn't want to even think about entertaining it. He could barely remember what she looked like, and definitely not what her name was.
It didn't matter though. The damage had been done.
The damage had been done and Erik had ruined his chance at everything. On the other hand, Tyson's chances at everything had just opened up.

Good Things - Tyson Jost (preview)
oh hello! I've been absent for reasons but I'm back now and ready to jump back into writing. Coming August 1.
--
Maybe itâs a good thing? Maybe this was for the best and Tyson was meant to be here all along. It doesnât matter that he shut himself inside his hotel room to watch the Stanley Cup Finals and didnât come out to face anyone for a few days for any particular reason.
Maybe itâs a good thing? You had no idea the Minnesota Wild were going to hire you to be their newest social media person but holy shit, you were so excited. This got you of your parents house and into your own apartment. It also gave you the freedom to run as far away from your shitty ex as fast as you possibly could. Fuck them. This was good.Â
âItâs a good thing, baby. Good things are coming.âÂ
Your mother is your best friend and youâve never doubted anything sheâs ever said. You werenât about to start now, so you hug her fiercely before heading toward airport security and your new life.Â
There is a baby crying as soon as you board the plane but you arenât bothered. You can hear the parents trying their best to soothe the crying child and when they finally do, you breathe a sigh of relief for them. It just so happens to be that the family is seated behind you and when you take your headphones off for a moment, you hear a soothing voice speaking softly.Â
âShh, sweetheart, shh, sleep well. Good things are coming our way, little girl. Good things are coming.â
You had no idea what the little family sitting in front of you was going through but you couldnât mistake the coincidence of the motherâs words with what you own had said just hours ago.
Good things are coming.Â

thoughts? Don't hold back! Also so much as happened in the past few months, let's talk hockey ish? Send me all the things!

People are out here pissed off like we all donât work for money and/or happiness. Isnât that the point?
If you arenât satisfied with your current position, are you going to stick around because your customers/clients want you to? Or are you going to do what you feel is best for you?
