I’ve listened to a lot of comedy podcasts, but nothing has made me laugh as hard as hearing “Hey pops” straight off the bat from a sixteen year old going to confession for the first time 10 seconds into the episode. It was just so immediate. So unhinged. The kids on this show have such insane balls, there has never been a teenage episode that wasn’t absolutely hilarious. I was literally driving down the parkway in the middle of the night laughing alone in my car it was so funny.

Anyway, anyone raised Catholic should listen to Forgive Me if you want to laugh at stuff that isn’t funny and cry at stuff that isn’t sad.

Not to mention all three seasons of Mockery Manor, which has one of my favorite soundtracks for anything ever.

It's a Bandcamp Friday, so if you've been eyeing up seasons from podcasts like Inn Between, Sidequesting, The Dungeon Economic Model, Old Gods of Appalachia, specials from shows like Welcome to Night Vale, or music from shows like The Tower, The Lost Cat Podcast, or The Strange Case of Starship Iris, now is a great time to grab them, as what you're paying goes far more directly to the creators.

I will say, I'm finishing up episode 2 right now and it does a very good job of setting up these themes. Episode 1 felt like a pilot, episode 2 is laying groundwork that's intriguing without being overwhelming.

And that's on both a story and character level. Normally the line "Yeah I don't have any stakes in this but we're moving on anyway" is my queue to drop a show, but it is so clearly not true in context that it just makes Mari's involvement even more compelling.

Also I adore the fact that Mari does not hesitate even one moment to throw hands with ghosts. Sure she'll help you get home but you'd better cut that haunting shit right tf out first. That's definitely not something that's going to be used to emotionally damage me in several episodes 🥲😥

For people who have been interested in Hi Nay but have not started it or tried it yet, I'd love to know what I can do or say to convince you to give it a try!
