the fact that i'm no longer the same age as the protagonists of novels and films i once connected to is so heartbreaking. there was a time when I looked forward to turning their age. i did. and i also outgrew them. i continue to age, but they don't; never will. the immortality of fiction is beautiful, but cruel.

Sometimes the mark of a great show is the "silly" scenes.
When the scene is so far removed from the dark, gory premise of the plot and seems like a throwaway but works as a showcase that the humdrum of existence still persists even in war.
The clumsy will still fall, the joker will still make an inappropriate joke, the cook will still burn the food...we will still live.
The key is to do it well.

I'll tell you one thing, I shouldn't have watched "One Day" on a Sunday, that's for sure. Now I'm f* sad.

Season 3 is for the overthinkers. The ones who always had the crush but were never the crushes. The ones who only see flaws when they look in the mirror. The ones who throw themselves into books because those worlds treat them better than life ever has. The ones who are just so goddamn tired.
