Shang Tsung x Raiden HCs

this was gonna be for something longer but i lost interest lol, also fyi, I can't see canon Raiden dating Shang Tsung, so this is for some AU where Shang ain't evil (still mischievous tho lmao) and Raiden would date someone at all

- These two have basically been like an old married couple for centuries... because they are lol

- They aren't even technically in a married relationship, and only recently has Shang finally gotten Raiden used to introducing the smug sorcerer as his significant other.

- These two bicker and bark and fight a lot but would die for one another (At least I hope Shang would do the same for Raiden, because despite what Raiden may say, he WOULD die for Shang)

- Although they fight a lot with varying degrees of seriousness, at the end of the day, they can usually be found with Raiden sitting down, and Shang Tsung in his lap, probably whispering sweet nothings in some language long lost to time

- Raiden loves when Shang dresses up for him, which Shang does a lot but Raiden doesn't get tired of it. He especially loves when Shang Tsung pulls him away somewhere private, shows off some new fancy dress he bought, and asks Raiden if he'd like to dance.

- Shang doesn't like to admit it, but oh does he turn into a blushing melty mess of f e e l i n g s inside when he sees Raiden lift something heavy, mf Shang acts normal on the outside, but on the inside? Swooning schoolgirl

- Raiden doesn't really feel any physical attraction to Shang (I mean in an objective way shoa, he finds Shang very appealing) but he's very emotionally attached to the man. He doesn't know what he'd do without his favorite weasely sorcerer

- Shang Tsung meanwhile is thirsty af for Raiden

Fujin Headcanons

I'm fond of this Elsa haired pretty boah, so time to write some fokin hcs;

- Has a sweet tooth. While I don't think he needs food, he does enjoy it, calls it one of Earthrealms greatest pleasures. But, his favorite type of food? Candy. Especially chocolates. His favorite type of chocolate is fruity dark chocolate.

- Loves his hair and would probably crumple up and have the big sad if something bad happened to it. He takes care of his hair, and probably as a joke named it. It rly was a joke tho, mostly just to annoy his bro Raiden with it

- Fashionista 200%

- He really loves fashion, and has always taken great pride in maintaining a nice looking, put together outfit.

- I mean shoa ya won't see him eyeing clothing magazines, but he might die inside if he sees someone wear something unfashionable (Looking at you, Raiden)

- Sweet boah

- Really gentlemanly all the time. He's as polite as he is sweet

- He's also a very sensitive feller. Much more than Raiden, anyway lol, but poor boah can't take too much teasing (Unless it's from Raiden, but that's different cuz siblings, and even then, when Fujin was much younger he couldn't even take that, although I don't think Raiden did much teasing anyway, when he did, Fujin would be a sad boah till Raiden apologized... assuming Fujin got the joke, anyway.)

- Used to skip a lot

- If you put him in a field and it was a windy day he might do it again haha

- Loves hugging his friends, and is just generally someone who LOVES physical affection. He probably kisses his friends foreheads and cheeks platonically (I do mean platonically tho, he smooches everyone he likes affectionately, unless they tell him no) He also loves holding hands, locking arms with people, and snugglin' up with his bros on the couch

THIS. I'm actually in the very early stages of working on a long fanfiction (potentially comic since I'm more of an artist than writer) and... this will help a lot haha

Tips for Writing a Difficult Scene

Every writer inevitably gets to that scene that just doesn't want to work. It doesn't flow, no matter how hard you try. Well, here are some things to try to get out of that rut:

1. Change the weather

I know this doesn't sound like it'll make much of a difference, but trust me when I say it does.

Every single time I've tried this, it worked and the scene flowed magically.

2. Change the POV

If your book has multiple POV characters, it might be a good idea to switch the scene to another character's perspective.

9/10 times, this will make the scene flow better.

3. Start the scene earlier/later

Oftentimes, a scene just doesn't work because you're not starting in the right place.

Perhaps you're starting too late and giving too little context. Perhaps some description or character introspection is needed before you dive in.

Alternatively, you may be taking too long to get to the actual point of the scene. Would it help to dive straight into the action without much ado?

4. Write only the dialogue

If your scene involves dialogue, it can help immensely to write only the spoken words the first time round.

It's even better if you highlight different characters' speech in different colors.

Then, later on, you can go back and fill in the dialogue tags, description etc.

5. Fuck it and use a placeholder

If nothing works, it's time to move on.

Rather than perpetually getting stuck on that one scene, use a placeholder. Something like: [they escape somehow] or [big emotional talk].

And then continue with the draft.

This'll help you keep momentum and, maybe, make the scene easier to write later on once you have a better grasp on the plot and characters.

Trust me, I do this all the time.

It can take some practice to get past your Type A brain screaming at you, but it's worth it.

So, those are some things to try when a scene is being difficult. I hope that these tips help :)

- Is the type of person who could be all tough in battle, but scream if he saw a rat unexpectedly.

- Actually, he just fears rodents in general, like normally he just hates them but when they just squeak their way into the room he fukin dies--

- Adores cats, although he could never keep one himself.

- While he's always been self-centered, prideful, narcissistic, selfish and egotistical... perhaps, some of it is the effects of the magic he uses. There was a point of time when, although he perhaps had the potential to be the way he is, I don't think he would've taken any pride nor joy in stealing souls, or just being villainous in general.

Domestic Marstons HCs

- John is actually really cuddly and huggy on Abigail at night. Like, dude can't keep his hands, legs, anything to himself. One moment she's on her side of the bed, next minute she's wrapped up in Johns arms, probably with one of his legs swung over hers.

- John learned how to weave flowers crowns and necklaces from Jack when he was younger, and sometimes takes Abigail out to a field just to make them for her. It always earns a little giggle and a, "Oh, John." And John absolutely lives for hearing his wife compliment him (sarcastic or not, because there's always an affectionate tone from her.)

- John, while not lazy, does hate house chores. He hates cooking, or cleaning, and would much rather be carrying around heavy haybales then having to wash the dishes. Abigail doesn't really mind this cuz she doesn't understand how someone would rather be out in the hot sun, soaking wet in sweat, from hard labor, than just getting your hands a little greasy from dishes. Ah well.

- Also, Abigail hates when John's gross. While she ain't a clean freak, and for shoa doesn't mind getting her hands dirty, well, John ain't exactly in his prime. It do be hittin' different now when he comes into the house sweaty. Less hot, more stinky boah Marston getting something thrown at his head while being told to wash up.

- John is shorter than Abigail so it looks really awkward when he tries to pick her up. It's cute though, because even in his arms she's still obviously taller than him, but honestly, he doesn't mind, he just loves to hear her laughter, or gaze at her when she's giving him a doofy grin. He doesn't do this too much though, he is getting into his older years (even if he still ain't that old lol, like he really ain't) and between being tired from working the ranch, and just being less fit then he was in his 20s, he just doesn't want to take the risk of dropping her, or, more likely, falling over... again.

- Yeaaah, he did drop her one time. It was a few days after their wedding, and John thought he'd surprise his love by picking her up bridal style out in the field by their house. Weeeellll he accidentally stepped backwards into a pothole, and between him not giving her a warning beforehand, and tripping backwards, yeah the two went from happy couple to em' laughing in the grass, John maybe a lil bruised up from having Abi fall on him. Still, they fondly remember that lil accident, Abigail occasionally teasing John about it, and him usually retorting something sarcastically in return, "Pssht, I only fell because you're so heavy--" *swat* "Ouch, I deserved that."

- John gets a dad bod a bit before rdr1 and Abigail loves it. He hates it, because he used to be skinny, and shoa, he wanted to bulk up, but not like that. Still, Abigail loves her slightly chubbeh husby, and loves the extra squish when cuddlin'. He can take consolation in his dad bod pleasing his wife at least lol
