Something I think about a lot is how Rick Riordan very rarely uses "girlfriend/boyfriend" to refer to Percy and Annabeth within their perspectives. They're so intertwined, even Annabeth says in hoh that the word boyfriend isn't strong enough, because Percy was a part of her. They are a singular soul, too wrapped around each others' fates that regular labels are far too weak for them. But, Rick Riordan uses "boyfriend" a lot in Nico and Wills perspectives, not because they love each other less than percabeth, but to show how much the word means to them. Nico uses it any chance he gets- "his boyfriend," "he actually had a boyfriend," because Nico has never been able to say that before. Their struggle with their queer identities mixed with Nico's catholic guilt and chronic everyone-hates-me disease makes the fact that he has someone to call his actual boyfriend so much more important to his character development.

catras “she’ll always be adora to me” (rather than “she-ra”) from the novel is such a concise indirect rebuttal to adoras internal struggle that she only is worth something to the people in her life because shes she-ra and shes been gifted with the supernatural power to protect them. catra has always loved her before that. its like it means nothing to catra that adoras she-ra. yes im still thinking about that snippet from that novel F my life… in my head im having a s5 conversation where adora kind of breaks in front of catra talking about their past and shes like if i couldnt even protect you then what would i even be worth to you??? and catras like “… everything” :(

Bitch please. Some of you cannot handle toxic characters, especially when they are queer cause they ruin your uwu aesthetic. You think i've forgotten how yall treated Catra?? A poc lesbian from one of the best queer animated show of our time, who actually got a happy ending? You called her an abusive bitch who didn't deserve a redemption arc or a happy ending. And the funny part is that CATRA IS NOT EVEN A TOXIC CHARACTER. But of course you're unable to understand that cause to you all characters must fall into the ''good or bad'' category, they have to either be perfectly obedient and sweet or irredeemable assholes. The moment a character has more complexity than a piece of paper, you lose your damn minds. And you have the audacity to ask for more toxic characters, don't make me laugh.
