“Gaza has gas. Sudan has gold. Congo has cobalt. Haiti has limestone. Afghanistan has copper. West Papua has crude oil. Every nation suffering from some form of genocide or intense suffering is attractive in the eyes of the western imperial machine of consumer capitalism.”
Today more than ever, my heart hurts for the Palestinians.
I can't believe they're still suffering after almost 3 months of live streaming their genocide.
I can't believe we haven't been able to put enough pressure to get aid in while they're starving on top the relentless aggression from the idf.
I especially can't believe the heavy censorship of journalists and others as if this world is an enemy to the truth. It is.
This is no time for complacency. Gazans don't have the luxury to walk away from this and decide that it's over. Free Palestine was never just a trending hashtag. These are real people. They don't disappear when the video stops or when you stop watching. The crying, the bloodshed, the screams of innocent men, women and children should echo on in your mind as it does in Gaza. Then ask yourself, what would you want from the world if you were on the other side of the screen?
To know that there are aid trucks lined up eagerly waiting to get to them but they’re blocked from entering. I cannot fathom the cruelty that allows them to starve and suffer in such a severe manner while the worlds help sits right outside their door.
May these corrupt leaders suffer a worse fate than what they’ve inflicted on the Palestinians. It’s well past time the US and Israeli zionists face the consequences of their actions. They won’t get away with these crimes. Not this time.
I see my son in this child. I see my children in every single child that I come across in these videos. Don't look away.
This is Fadi Shaheen. He was martyred by the fragments from an artillery shell that landed on his home in Jabalia al-Balad.
Can you imagine, as a mother/father, holding your child in your arms as they bleed out. Can you imagine feeling so helpless as you watch your child gasping for his last breath? We have all the privilege in the world, what do we do with it? If not to end crimes like this, then what good are we? What good is our 'freedom'?
We are all human, thus we are all responsible for ensuring the safety of humanity. Fadi Shaheen could be your son, your brother, your grandson, your nephew, your friend. Fadi Shaheen could be you. Would you still look away?
