          the year is 1715. pirates are the scourge of the open seas, hunting any ship that may come across their sight line. all those who do business by ship or skiff live in fear of those they have come to know as monsters, but there is one place that they avoid above all else: the darkened shores of new providence island.

          what was once known as a new colony for the british empire is now a haven for thieves, whores, and pirates. nassau is a bustling place of commerce, but you’re just as likely to have your purse cut as you are your throat. amongst the sparkling sand, glittering gold, and bright sights that the town has to offer, there lies the gaping maw of those who did not succeed. not every ship wins its bounty, and even fewer get along on the island itself.

           but the british empire will not let go of the island so easily; they have farmers in the interior that they are using as leverage, aiming to protect them under the guise of eradicating the grip the pirates have on the island. furthermore, the spanish have always eyed its location and its fort in particular, paying no heed to the pirates themselves. thus begins the battle for nassau, and the glory of the pirates who call it home.
