Keep bubbles in the house, blow bubbles in the yard, blow them in your room, get a coloring book that doesn’t have to be an adult one with mandalas, watch cartoons, laugh at stupid things, dress up as a superhero for Halloween, wear a Santa hat on Christmas and big light up snowflake earrings, lay down on the floor, lay down in the grass, eat eggos for dinner sometimes. It’s not stupid. You’re not childish. You’re giving your inner child what they had taken from them. They deserve it.

the public reaction to mitski calmly and politely asking that fans maybe not film her concerts the whole time- not banning phones, just asking to record a little less- is just proof that she as a person has been commodified to the point where you don't see her as a person or even an artist, you all see her as a product that you clearly have a god-given right to consume as you please. the sheer amount of people condescendingly calling her bestie, sweetie, honey in her twitter replies and finding some way to make her life and her experiences about them is just. sad. the videos of silent crowds filming her sing her newer or just not tiktok popular songs makes me feel so bad for her like. when people say "i'll understand if mitski quits music after this" i entirely agree, because imagine pouring your heart and soul out on stage to a dead crowd that only uses you for content. performing to an audience that just wants to scream mommy at you and make a meme about it.
