Nature had came to claim her, Consume her. It was all she wanted, To return to her roots, Back to Mother Nature's embrace. So all that she was, Would be a memory, Wrapped in rings of tree. A tall one with limbs, Out stretched to heaven, When they were bare in winter, And covered with leaves, That shaded her grandchildren, For years to come. You get caught up, In the thought. How beautiful she is, And what life would like, To have her around. Even in the mix, Of good and bad. But you imagine her, Rising with the sun, And falling asleep, In your arms. You watch her dress, As she fumbles with buttons, Zippers and clasps. Maybe it's a little crazy or creepy, Only you can't take your eyes off her. You don't want to blink or sleep, Because you're afraid, That you will wake up from a dream, And find yourself alone, In a dark room again, With a sinking feeling in your heart. I cannot write another word, Nor breathe another breath. Because all I see is you, And it is maddening, Gazing upon your beauty. My words hang in my throat, And I am tongue tied. Because all I see is your smile, And I drown in the blue, Of your kind eyes, Over and over again. Even though I can barely, Speak your name above a whisper. I am lost when you speak, As the sound of your voice, Stirs the echoes of my sanity, Even when I find the courage, To speak your name, When it leaves my lips, And it mingles with yours, When we kiss.
