Best thing about Cobra kai is that it's the absolute worst & saddest version of Daniel and Johnny post karate kid franchise. Like a Johnny who never got over and has even regressed past his karate kid 1 development. A Daniel who has never gotten over the karate kid 3. And then they have gay sex about it. The nasty kind.

When Kreese told Johnny in s2 “you had no life before you met me” and then Johnny told Hawk in s3 “I made you what you are”..... hoping the writers explore that, uh, unfortunate parallel

Robby stealing the snake from the zoo for Kreese mirrors his actions in s2 when he went up against Trey and Cruz to retrieve Amanda’s wallet. Both instances he’s essentially trying to “earn his keep.” Prove to adults that should care about him regardless that he belongs and that he deserves to stay within their family.

They really could do anything with s6 and as long as they have sam and robby win the sekai taikai I would have won
(but I know what's more likely is johnny driving miguel carmen rosa and the baby carrier in the caravan and robby gets left at the service station like a lost puppy)
Okay this is going to be controversial coming from a notorious robby apologist but…….I don’t care all that much if he wins the sekai taikai or not. I get that he’s never won a tournament before but i just dont feel like winning will actually add anything meaningful to his character arc? I think a lot of people see winning as “justice” for his character, but personally I’m not really sure what they mean by that. How would winning be justice? How would it serve him in anyway at all? How would it serve the story? Robby has repeatedly stated that he doesn’t care about a trophy, and both instances of him competing in the AVT were attempts to get back at his dad and Daniel, to prove to them and himself that he was independent and could succeed without them. But at the end of season 4, he breaks down to Johnny because he realizes he can’t do it all alone, that he’s still just a kid and needs his dad. And then of course season 5 takes that and does nothing with it, lol. They have Johnny once again push Robby to the back burner in favor of Miguel, rarely show them interact unless it’s an attempt to retcon 90% of the shit Johnny did to him over the last 4 seasons of the show, and then give him a do over baby that’s the reason he even somewhat tries to pull his shit together. And having Robby win a tournament, imo that doesn’t fix anything really. And maybe I’m just biased because I’m not super invested in anything but the meme-ability of this show anymore, so I don’t particularly care who wins the tournament either way. But I guess I just don’t think winning will add anything to his story. And part of me actually kind of likes the idea that he breaks the cycle and doesn’t let some silly tournament losses destroy his future, like what happened to Johnny.
And the same goes for Sam tbh. What does winning add to her character? In fact, what does it add to any of the characters? I think a big problem with this show is that at this point, most of the kids character arcs wrapped up a while ago. At this point, any one of them winning won’t serve as a meaningful resolution to their story for me, but just as entertainment. So they could have Bert win for pure comedy’s sake lol. Or if they switch it up and have it be teams/doubles fights, it would be fun to see Miguel and Robby working together, and Sam and Tory working together (which I do think at least would be more meaningful than solo wins). But overall, personally I just….do not care all that much who wins and loses.

Crazy that they had hawk literally beat another kid half to death only for three episodes later him to just go “actually I want to be good now!” And everyone backed him up
