im not a fan of reverse robin stuff for a lot of reasons but i will admit the idea of an older bruce getting damian as his first child and somehow still being emotionally available enough to collect 5+ more children afterwards has. comedic potential

#imagine being a traveling goon who’s on contract in gotham city for little while when dick is batman #and u hear stories of a terrifying bat demon that slowly solidify into an absolute TANK of a man who will beat u up like a forklift #but then the first time u come face to face with the batman (ur terrified and trying to hold it together) he flips over ur head #and takes u out from behind. ur out like a light and u barely register it #this pattern continues for ur entire gooning contract. he does a split kick and takes out three men. he handstands out of a death trap #and then u leave. ur eyes Uncovered. u know the Truth about batman and how he fights and every other story is one made up to scare u #but when u tell other goons on ur other gooning contract they laugh in ur face #they dismiss u out of hand. they know what batman’s like they’ve faced him themselves. he doesn’t do back-kick pirouettes #but u know what u saw. and u know what u experienced. and for the rest of ur life. no one will ever believe u #ik ik when dick’s batman he mimics bruce’s fighting style and does so VERY ACCURATELY. but how fucking funny would this be #(me to myself: stop saying gooning) #dick grayson #batman #dc

Sometimes it really hits me just how much Dick has been through with Bruce, how many years it was just him and Bruce and Alfred, only the three of them, and just how much of the old stuff that only Dick was around for. Babs hasn't even heard of Ghost-Maker and can't get any information on him, he's not someone Bruce would have ever mentioned to the others, but Dick knows about him, saw him once, even. This is part of why Dick is the one who knows Bruce so well, just the sheer amount of time he spent in this life, from the youngest age still, but also it's in the way Bruce interacts with him. He smashes the Batplane's control panel in fury, which Dick takes as the perfect chance to make a dry comment about it, but that opens Bruce up and he apologizes and explains who Ghost-Maker is. How he met him, how he made friends with him, how they fit together, how they disagreed, how they fell out, and Dick gets it. Ghost-Maker thinks Bruce is weak to do this out of an emotional place, to care about people, rather than just the pure art of it. And Dick Grayson sees that, even as probably just a 14 year old, and understands that Bruce knows he's not weak, but could stand to hear it anyway, and that it's okay to say you miss your friend. Dick Grayson has seen the most of Bruce Wayne, they're not the same person, being taken in by Bruce saved him from that road, allowed his better nature to heal and grow back into the incredible person he had inside him all along, but it's moments like this where it really hits me that Dick Grayson understands Bruce the best, because he's seen the most and, I think, because he understands that that could have been his own road if he hadn't been saved by Bruce.

Actually I DO think Bruce is justified in being upset if his kids/associates kill people. I think he is justified in wanting to do everything in his power to make sure his children don’t kill anyone at all. There’s many things he’s unreasonable about but I do not think he is being unreasonable at all there.
