"The divided pairing of Home/World underlines our willingness to submit to frontiers. This exhibition recognises geography as that essential substrate for the artistsâ internal landscapes. The surface receives traces of individual desire, after-images of enduring loyalties and collective grieving, yet the space between the observer and observed is a khora for re-enacting sanctuary and self-determination through the pursuit of opacity.
Home/World is a fabulation of a world not broken up into fragments, by cautiously optimistic citizens of kahin nahin. Let us remember the surface, for we must not surrender to the partitioning of the world."
Participating artists:Â Dai Asano, Ella Baum, Elena Bulet i Llopis, Jingwen Cao, Clara Delgado, Mengru Du, Zhu Gao, Srikar Hari, Sydney Howard, Sarah Meftah, Katelynn M Rogers, Tam Stockton, and Yuchen Wang.
Curated by Protyasha Pandey (GAC 23)
