Tetsurou gave him a little squeeze before walking, dragging Kenma along with him. “If you want a break, then that’s exactly what you’re going to get,” he said. 

Kenma remained quiet, a small, appreciative smile growing on his face. Oh how thankful he was to have someone like Tetsurou in his life. “Thank you, Kuro.” 

“Of course,” Tetsurou said, smiling down at him charmingly, “I’d do anything for you.”

Tetsurou couldn’t help but laugh and smile as he felt the wind blow against him, the sense of freedom couldn’t have felt any stronger than in that very moment.

He could see Kenma not far ahead, the hood had fallen and his cloak was flowing, pushed back by the wind. They were taking the forest route to the Emerald Palace. 

It was a wholesome sight to behold, just two best friends racing through the fields on horseback, both with carefree smiles on their faces, almost as if they’ve reverted back to their non-existent childhood.

And as they kept running, the two of them had unfortunately failed to realize how much the wind had ruined their hair.
