Because I’m now operating on sleep deprivation and desperate need to focus on something else alone:
Lokidile is such a small crocodile, though.
I love him.

But for real, Marvel made Loki bi and then killed off his most likely male show romance in the next ep and if they don’t bring Mobius back that’s something really close to bury your gays behavior right there.

And just think, before the last 15 minutes or so I was really pissed at Mobius because setting someone up to be hit over and over again while being cruelly verbally abused fits the definition of torture but now I’m praying that the other Loki’s are gonna take our Loki to a room being like “And dude, here’s your pal from the TVA. He’s going through some things right now, you might want to take care of that.”
Because in earnest, if we don’t get our Mobius back, I’ll never get over it.
Marvel, on the other hand... Marvel I am still INCREDIBLY pissed at for going the self-cest het route. Fans shipping it in fanon is fine. It being canon? No. Just. Fucking. NO.
And with that, I’m going to TRY to sleep.

But, like, also, someone at Marvel definitely knew what they were doing, releasing Loki in June. It’s gonna be great publicity for them. And I’m not saying that I’ll wanna go for their throat by any means if Loki (either one) doesn’t kiss someone of the same sex even once in the series, but I am saying I’ll feel some type of way about it.

On another rewatch of the second episode of Loki, I have a question:
So everyone keeps wondering over who the variant that bombed the timeline is. Some think it’s Loki, some think Lady Loki.
But what if the answer is both?
What if there are two variants and the TVA doesn’t know it because they’re searching for only one?
Hear me out.
When we see the variant first possess C-20, we very pointedly don’t see what happens to the variant’s body afterward. We only see their arm and then that arm disappears downward. What if it disappears because they lose consciousness? It’s already canon that their conscious travels from body to body and they cannot possess two other people at the same time. But there’s currently no canon to suggest that they can remain conscious in their own body while possessing another person. And isn’t it interesting that we never see the variant that is possessing someone until that possession ends?
Yet, if my above theory is true- that the possessor cannot remain in control of their body- then who is the variant that we see continuing to ready the bomb while the possessed Randy talks to Loki?
The answer I’m hoping for is that that variant is Lady Loki, and Sylvie- who got her powers from Loki a la canon and is helping her for whatever reason- is acting as Loki’s muscle. The decoy to keep the TVA off of the real Lady Loki’s scent.
This would honestly fix a lot of the problems I have with the end variant being Sylvie, so I hope that I’m right. (I also feel like Sylvie/Lady Loki could be the LGBTQ rep of the show, which I have conflicting overjoyed and annoyed emotions about.)
But will they actually give us this? I guess we’ll see.

I just have to say this right here:
If the variant at the end of the episode is Sylvie instead of Lady Loki, then it actually will ruin the show for me. At least a little bit. Probably a lot.
I didn’t mind so much when they NERFED Loki and his powers because in the background they had another Loki running circles around the TVA being her/his amazing badass self.
I could accept that they weren’t portraying all of his cleverness and powers for our Loki, because they were doing so for another Loki.
If they make the variant at the end of the episode a different character then all of that goes away. Loki becomes someone who is truly just a joke in his own show, who isn’t even capable of all the amazing clever things that the variant the TVA is chasing can do and has done.
Not only that, but the gender fluidity that they seem so proud to promise now has a possibility of being just a tiny throwaway line on a piece of paper. That is utter nonsense. I will be so angry if that’s all we get.
So very, very angry.
We deserve much, much more as Loki fans then what the show has given us if the Sylvie theories are true-
And I say this as someone who was very hopeful for the show just yesterday.
Sorry if I’m bringing anyone down, but right now I believe in the Sylvie theory and it has me very discouraged about the future of the show.
Here’s hoping I’ll be wrong and the show will give us everything we want.

I wanna say this before I go (back) to bed:
The only way I’ll really accept blonde Loki is if her hair color is a direct tribute to Frigga.

So, kind of a continuation for my earlier post, but the other reason I’m not mad at the way that Mobius handled his talk with Loki?
Thor’s done worse.
Let me remind you all how in TDW Thor not only blamed Loki for their mother’s death- he also didn’t do anything to convince Odin to allow Loki to attend their mother’s funeral. Their. Mother’s. Funeral. Then, when Loki was at his lowest point, he tells him to his face that he blames him for Frigga’s death and demands that Loki help him avenge her.  Literally.
And then- AND THEN- after Loki has been brought as low as he could possibly be, after he has agreed- he allows a nice little line up made up mostly of people that Loki once knew and perhaps considered friends to berate him, to threaten him, even to physically harm in Jane’s case.
…if any of you say that any of that was okay because Thor loves him and is his brother, you really need to do some research into abusive relationships.
Continuing on that, in Ragnarok, after Thor manages to convince Loki to help him again, he either manipulates Loki again with what is a very hurtful speech- a speech given after they just lost their father- or he means it, and means to cast Loki off and wash his hands of him after this most recent catastrophe.
I just don’t see how what Mobius did that is worse than any of that. Not when Odin and even Thor have shown a frankly concerning habit of using Loki when they need him and degrading him almost all other times.
What Mobius is doing is mild in comparison to me, because it’s done by someone who didn’t personally know Loki beforehand. Who only knew him as a threat that had been killing men that Mobius likely knew and presumably cared for at least a little- definitely men he felt responsible for.
He’s a certain kind of gentle with Loki. Careful, in a way that we’ve seen very few others be.
If I see that, and choose to weigh it against the lack of care Loki has gotten in the past, and find it better than what I’ve seen before…
Well, I’m not going to listen to anyone who tells me I’m wrong for doing so.

So, I’ve seen some takes about the Mobius/Loki talk that make Mobius out to be a monstrous fiend that only wants to manipulate and use Loki…
And honestly, I don’t agree.
Everyone’s opinion is valid, obviously, but the read I got from their scenes is very different.
There is definitely some manipulation going on there, I’ll agree to that. Mobius has something he wants to do, and it’s clear that he’s willing to go to some lengths to get him to do it.
But it was also decidedly more than that.
Mobius is genuinely fascinated by Loki in a way that’s clear to see. Moreover, it seems like he’s been fascinated by him for him. I don’t think that the fascination began with this variant of Loki. I think it began when the other Loki first began attacking the TVA.
I think that Mobius began looking into Loki’s file then. That he scoured every spec of information he could get to it to learn what made Loki tick. That he did whatever he could to figure out what was going on in Loki’s brain. To puzzle out why he was doing what he was doing.
I think he was already spellbound by him.
Then he has another variant of Loki smack dab in front of him, a variant that isn’t going to kill him on sight. Not truly.
Of course he’s going to take the opportunity to ask the questions that have been driving him crazy now that he has the chance. Of course he’s going to do everything he can to push Loki to be better, even if some of the ways he pushes is a little less than kosher.
Anyone would.
So no, while I’ll acknowledge that some of the things he said are awful, and while I’ll admit that they caused my heart to ache for Loki-
I’m not going to write him off as some irredeemable monster. Not yet. Not until I get more of the story and see where he goes from here.
Maybe I’ll be disappointed by him. It’s definitely a possibility.
But until then I’m going to stick my head in the sand and take him at face value.
And believe that for once Loki genuinely has someone that wants to help him as well as use him.
It’s not a perfect scenario but it’s better than what I’ve gotten in the past, so I’ll take it and be glad.
