noticing someone was waving a coffee cup in her face, she couldn't help but raise an eyebrow as she pulled an airpod out of her ear - trying to catch what it was the other girl was saying to her. ❝ all i caught from that was that you had a shit morning and something about a stupid barista. ❞ maribel shrugged, putting away both of the headphones as she gave alex her full atttention. ❝ what's going on if you don't mind me asking that's got you all flustered at ten in the morning? ❞

" EXCUSE ME, DO YOU WANT THIS ? " alex holds out a hot coffee cup, giving it a little jiggle. " the idiot barista gave me almond milk instead of soy milk. definitely do yourself a favor and stay away from the starbucks on 72nd street. " though after the stink alex made today for getting the wrong drink, there's no way that barista will be working there again. the day had already started badly for maribel, one of her clients had managed to ruin a dress they were supposed to be wearing to an event that day; so a lot of running around to complete errands had happened before it had even hit 8am and the girl was simply frazzled to say the least.

after finally completing her tasks and being able to relax, she had grabbed a frozen lemonade when she heard her name being called - her body whipped round as the brunette looked for who had spoken her name, the frown on her face melting slightly as she saw the tall familar figure of tristan in front of her. ❝ well, well. i had almost forgotten what your voice sounded like it's been that long. ❞ she mocked before moving in to hug him; before she turned slightly awkward halfway through and placed a few pats on his shoulder before pulling away. 

the question took her by surprise for a moment before she smirked, shaking her head at him. ❝ oh honey, let's not pretend you want us to go some place private for the sake of me saving my reputation. ❞ she teased once more, her hand moving to poke his cheek briefly before dropping her hand and starting to walk away. ❝ come on then, let's go back to my apartment where we can talk without all these prying eyes. ❞

When Maribel was a child, she had a picture-perfect life; her mom and dad seemed happy and in love and she was doted on constantly, up until the age of nine when everything suddenly changed.

Her dad lost his job due to staff cutbacks and struggled to find another, instead he would spend his free time sat in front of the television and drinking his life away.

Once he had drank, Diego turned nasty - hurling insults at his family and especially picking on Maribel when it came to her looks and weight; manipulating her to believe that she would never be good enough to be loved by a man, she was too fat and too ugly.

This escalated to using physical abuse against his wife and eldest daughter until Alessia decided she had had enough, divorcing him when Maribel was thirteen years old.

Her mother then remarried, a rich wealthy director; instantly changing Maribel’s and her sibling’s life forever.

During this time, Maribel had been attending singing and art lessons; using them as a to escape life at home but it soon became apparent, she was very talented.

Once she had left school, she attended Parsons to study fashion which helped her more when it came to designing and styling clothes.

As time has passed, she has managed to climb her way up in the fashion world, also gaining more and more popularity and being hired as a celebrity stylist.

She is a very protective big sister and is very loyal to her friends, mostly - if she sees a way to gain an upper hand, she probably wouldn't hesitate to throw one of her close friends under the bus.
