hi! do u think you'll ever go back to writing endangered? It was my favorite story and i really miss the updates
Hi!
Thank you for the love for Endangered. I really love the story and do plan to continue and finish it. School and life just kind of took hold.
A little bit of a life update, but my grandmother passed away right after Christmas, and my aunt is disabled, so her care is now my and my fathers responsibility. Things are started to calm down now and find a new normal soI have time to write finally.
I may need to rewatch the movies to get back on track of the plot, but I am excited to post soon.
I really appreciate everyone’s patience and kind words I’ve received since starting this, it means the world ❤️

Summary: Vampires and wolves are not the only supernatural creatures to walk the earth, and they are certainly not the only ones in Forks, Washington when Charlotte Annabeth Swan, “Anna”, moves in with her uncle after the unfortunate demise of her parents.
Some may misidentify her as a witch, but that’s fine, she would rather them think that anyway. But the Volturi know the truth, and they are closing in on her.
A/N: Surprise! I am alive, between school, work, and a hurricane, this was a challenge to complete. But to make up for it, it is twice as long as usually chapters AND the moment we have all been waiting for is here.
I hope you enjoy~

It was impossible to focus on anything in the aftermath of Bella’s wolf bombshell. School went by in a blur, my mind constantly on what was happening in the woods. Even Eric and Mike had noticed, which was how I knew I was off. They barely noticed anything. For a moment, I felt like I was slipping away, just like Bella had.
I spent every free second of the next few days trying to monitor the vampire situation. The pack had killed one who had gotten too close to Bella. I couldn’t even confront her, because telling her I knew about the vampire meant telling her I knew about the wolves. It wasn’t just the boys in the woods with a vampire now, it was Charlie, Harry, and so many more humans in danger. I found that I could feel where she was in the woods. Vampires were not alive, and if I focused on that feeling of emptiness, I could track her. And she was fast.

Paul made it known he hated this, but I wanted to help. The only upside was that I could use my emotional connection to Charlie to monitor where the hunting group was in relation to the redhead. The pack were excellent trackers, but apparently, the smell of a vampire was overwhelming to them. I could better keep track of the humans than they could while they were on her tail, so Sam let me keep doing what I could. I was able to warn them when she got too close to them and could track her movements off the reservation as well.
The nosebleeds, on the other hand, that was a point of contention. So much so that Paul broke his rule about being around me in his wolf form.
I was sitting against a rock, the cold forest floor beneath me, and my eyes closed when I heard footsteps. Sam had cleared this little clearing safe earlier in the day, it was off the path enough to be hidden, but not dangerous. I wasn’t scared. I knew who it was immediately.
“Paul,” I whispered, opening my eyes. The wolf was about six feet in front of me, and they were really just as massive as people said. He had told me he was worried about scaring me, but all I could think was how beautiful he was. His fur was a dark silver, and some lighter spots on his face. His eyes were copper, seemingly staring into mine.
He huffs at me, his agitation apparent in his body language. I dropped the shields around my mind so we could communicate. It takes a minute to push through some of the pack's collective thoughts to get to Paul’s. They know he’s with me, I can hear Sam giving directions and some responses before I get to him.
“Hey,” I think.
You’re bleeding, he growls out loud at the thought. I wipe away the blood quickly beginning to fall down my lip.
“Shit, sorry,” I say, standing up, “I honestly don’t really notice it anymore.”
What if she had caught wind of you? You’re forgetting that your blood is different. You’re putting yourself in more danger.
“I didn’t forget. She’s pretty far away, and she keeps making you guys chase her to the border. If you would just let me get close enough to her to read her mind, I could figure out what she wants,” I say pointedly.
Absolutely not, he huffs.
“Paul,” I say taking a step forward and I can see him step back.
Stay back, I don’t want to hurt you.
I sigh, “You won’t, love.”
You don’t know that.
“I do,” I take another step forward, “Trust yourself. Trust me.”
He turns his head away, thoughts racing too fast for me to decipher. The pack's thoughts are bleeding through, making it difficult to single out his. Before I can get a headache, he turns to face me again, nodding.
Okay, he thinks.
He’s taller than me still, but he shrinks a little as I move forward. I slowly hold out a hand, letting him come to me.
He stares at me unblinking, before leaning into my palm.
“See, not so bad,” I smile, and even in his thoughts, he is grumbling.
Maybe, but I should get back, and you should go home to rest.
Sam breaks through the wall I have that pushed the pack away with an Alpha order to the boys. I flinch as it shatters through my mind like broken glass. Pressing my palms into my eyes, I nod.
“Yeah, maybe.”
----------------------------------------------------
Bella couldn’t believe how blind she had been. Jacob had told her, point blank, exactly what he was, and she couldn’t see it. It took him climbing through her window to notice exactly what was going on.
Jacob was a werewolf. He was killing the hikers in the woods. He had been manipulated by the others into murder. It wasn’t a gang he was in, it was a pack.
Bella’s thoughts raced as she drove, was Anna a part of this, did she know? She had too, Bella thinks. She had been keeping secrets for far too long.
Parking, Bella rampaged her way to the Black house, hellbent on getting answers with her aggressive knocking and pushing her way past Billy.
But now standing here at the door to his room, he didn’t look like the monster she had made out in her head. He looked peaceful, having long since outgrown the bed he lay in. He didn’t want this. He was just sixteen.
Looking through the window, she saw the four others step through the tree line, and she saw red. This needed to end.
“What did you do!” she yells bursting out of the door, when she didn’t get an answer, she becomes irate, running up to Sam.
“Hey! What did you do!” she yelled again, pushing Sam forcefully. Paul steps forward with a growl, his protective nature surging before Sam puts his hand on his chest.
“Easy,” Sam warns.
“He didn’t want this!” Bella continues, getting louder, pushing closer to them.
“What did we do?” Paul spits, “What did he do? Huh? What did he tell you?” Here was Bella, once again villainizing him and his pack, causing problems where there were none to begin with.
“Both of you calm-” Sam urges with an authoritative tone, but it is cut off by Bella.
“Nothing! He tells me nothing because he’s SCARED of you,” she screams, and the boys are all stunned into a second of silence.
Until Paul and Jared start laughing, shocked by how ridiculous that is.
Bella loses it, and she reaches out, slapping Paul across the face. She realizes her mistake the second it happens.
“Fuck, too late now,” Jared says, grabbing Embry and stepping away from Paul.
“Bella! Get back now!” Sam yells.
Paul is shaking, his rage has overtaken him. It’s not just about her hitting him, he barely felt it really. It’s her entitlement, her obvious selfishness, and her lack of understanding when it came to them or Anna. She just assumes her stupid, bloodsuckers were perfect, that we couldn’t possibly be good as well. It all bubbles up to the surface at once, and all the animosity over the way Bella treats Anna explodes. Months of frustration and anger take over him.
Sam is trying to get him to calm down, but it’s not working.
“Jared, call Anna,” Sam says calmly, but the glare he receives from Paul proves that that was not the right thing to say.
“No!” Bella yells, eyes wide.
“Jesus Christ,” Jared groans.
He doesn’t have time to reach for his phone, because Paul loses control, and suddenly a giant grey wolf is standing in front of Bella, snarling and snapping.
Bella finally gets the hint, turning around to run as Jacob appears from his house.
“Run!” she screams, “Run, Jake, run!”
He does but in the opposite direction. Bella is terrified, looking back, she falls just in time to see Jacob jump into the air, but it’s not Jacob who lands on the ground. Another huge russet fur wolf stands its ground in front of the grey wolf.
The sounds of snapping jaws and growls are horrifying, but Bella can’t look away as the mountains of fur tumble through the grass aggressively, snapping a boat in half as they move toward the woods. With a heavy sigh, Sam looks back at Bella, who is just staring in shock.
“Hey, take Bella back to Emily’s place,” he says with a sigh.
“Guess the wolf’s outta the bag,” Embry chuckles and reaches out a hand to help Bella off the ground.
As they start to walk towards her truck, Sam turns back to yell towards the boys, “And someone seriously, call Anna.”
“Not it!” Jared yells, making Embry groan.
Bella is too shocked to say anything as they guide her to the back seat. She doesn’t hear what Embry says on the phone to her cousin, she doesn’t notice Jared grab the keys and start the truck, all she can do is stare past the broken boat and into the forest.
Jacob really is a werewolf. Anna is a Fae. Are all the monsters real?
-----------------------------------------------------
“What?!” I yell. Embry had finished giving me the rundown of what happened. I hadn’t even woken up yet when Bella had left, but I was wide awake now.
“Please don’t make me repeat it,” Embry flinches away from the phone, a furrow in his brow.
“Are you with her now?” I ask.
“Yeah, we are on our way to Emily’s, we’re almost there.”
“Jesus Christ, I would love to go at least one fucking week without something blowing up,” I complain, getting my things together to leave frantically.
“Yeah, me too.”
“I’ll be there in like 15.”
“I’ll warn everyone.”
I scoff and roll my eyes, setting my phone down to throw a hoodie on.
Embry hangs up the phone and Jared glances at him from the road.
“Not good?” Jared asks.
Embry gives him an incredulous look, “Hurricane Anna lands in t-minus 15.”
Jared exhales, “This outta be fun.”
When the trio pulls into Emily’s house, Bella has finally come out of her shock, leaning out the window, she speaks up.
“Hey! I think we should go back and see if Jacob’s okay.”
Jared laughs, “I hope Paul sinks some teeth in ‘em, serves him right.” He walks to the porch, Embry right behind him.
“No way, Jacob’s a natural, did you see him phase on the fly like that? I got five that says Paul doesn’t touch him,” Embry explains animatedly, they pause when they see Bella hasn’t moved.
“Come on in Bella, we don’t bite,” Embry jokes.
“Speak for yourself,” Jared retorts with a smirk.
Embry walks back to Bella as Jared enters, a tentative look in his eyes.
“Oh hey, about Emily, Sam’s fiancé, don’t stare. It bugs Sam,” he warns sadly.
“Why would I stare?” Bella questions, but he doesn’t answer, just walks in ahead of her.
Entering the house, Bella immediately felt out of place, like an outsider. She glances around the room from the doorway. The open concept made it feel bigger than it was, even with the massive boys at the wooden table. There were signs of life in every part of the room. Shoes were kicked off by the door, the smell of baked goods from the kitchen, and jackets hung on the back of chairs. One of which Bella recognized as Anna’s. It wasn’t until a sweet voice broke her from her thoughts that she looked at the woman walking out of the kitchen.
“Are you guys hungry? Like I have to ask,” she laughed. Bella suddenly realized why Embry had given her a warning. The woman must be Emily, and she was gorgeous despite the scar traveling down the side of her face. Bella forced her eyes away. Did Sam do that? Would Paul do that to Anna?
“Who’s this?” she asked curiously.
“Bella Swan, who else?” Jared shrugs, falling back into his chair.
Emily’s eyes widened, “Ah, so you’re the vampire girl.”  Her small smile let her know she was joking.
“So, you’re the wolf girl,” Bella responds, her humor lost in her awkwardness.
“Guess so, well I’m engaged to one at least,” she shrugs and sets down the plate in her hand as the two boys lunge for the food, “Save some for your brothers,” Emily scolds, “and ladies first. Muffin?”
“Sure,” Bella says as Emily gestures to the plate. Emily watches her cautiously before going back to cleaning up.
“Leave it to Jacob to find a way around Sam’s gag order,” she says.
“Um, he didn’t say anything to me,” Bella interjects, feeling the need to defend him.
“Yeah, that’s a wolf thing, alpha’s orders get obeyed whether we want them to or not,” Embry tells her, “Oh and check it out, we can hear each other’s thoughts.”
“Would you shut up! These are trade secrets! This chick runs with vampires,” Jared yells in exasperation. Bella finally breaks a smile.
“You can’t really run with vampires, 'cause they’re fast,” she says, a bit smugly, but Jared doesn’t miss a beat.
“Yeah, well we’re faster. Freaked out yet?” he taunts good-naturedly.
She shrugs her shoulders, “You’re not the first monsters I’ve met.”
Sam walks through the door, breaking some of the tension.
“Jake’s right, you’re good with weird. I would refrain from using the word “monsters” around your cousin though,” he warns. He walks up to Emily, peppering kisses on her face as she giggles. Bella has to look away, it still hurts to see other people in love.
When Paul and Jacob walk through the door, they seem fine. Smiling even. Paul comes to sit down at the table in front of her, as Jacob stands in the doorway.
With a smirk, Paul turns to apologize, “Sorry,” he says. He knows I’m on my way and will finally have to confront my cousin, and not even the threat of my wrath deters him from this moment.
Jacob silently motions to Bella to follow him, but the slamming of a door directs everyone’s attention outside.
“Here we go,” Embry huffs. Emily straightens as the weather seems to change, the sun has faded away and the usual cold air warms by at least ten degrees.
When Embry called me a hurricane, Bella thought he was joking, but looking at me now, Bella admits it’s a pretty good description. She can see me through the doorway as I walk around my car.
The wind seems to be roaring just around me, my now chaotic curly hair had to be gathered haphazardly out of my face. My own storm cloud follows me, about twenty feet in the air, and lightning is cracking within it. It’s about the size of my car and looks like rain could pour at any second. It swirls in a spiral, just like a hurricane, and I’m standing in the eye of the storm. It’s the first time Bella has really seen my magic and she’s suddenly faced with the reality that I am not human. She’s staring at me wide-eyed and mouth agape.
“You should have seen her when she found out a vampire almost killed you,” Jacob whispers to Bella, “We thought we were going to have to board up the house.”
Bella stares at me, realization hitting her about what exactly I am. Bella had found herself surrounded by magical creatures, and her mortality weighed on her heavier than ever.
Bella sees what I can’t, my eyes have darkened to a navy, almost black. The ends of my curls spark with the lightning. Bella gets why the Cullens thought I was a vampire at first, in this state, I look like one.
With my hands on my hips, I can tell by everyone avoiding my gaze that I look as pissed off as I feel. Staring at Bella through the door, I notice Paul is still inside.
“Bella! Paul! Get out here!” I yell, thunder booming behind me.
Bella sees Paul grimace as he walks out, and she grows more worried about confronting Anna about her serial killer boyfriend.  For a second, she considers the fact that Anna may have committed murder too.
“You look like you’re heading to the gallows man, it’ll be fine,” Embry says to Paul, trying to be supportive. Bella slowly makes her way to the porch, Jacob and Sam behind her.
“Hi Anna,” Sam says with a smile, “How are you doing?” It’s an attempt to cool the situation, but it hits my cold exterior and fails.
With eyes like ice, they flicker between Paul and Bella.
“Oh, I am fucking fantastic Sam, especially since I got a call that once again, my cousin has forced herself into things that aren’t her business- ” Bella moves to interject, but I put a hand up, stopping her as lightening cracks behind me in the growing storm cloud and a gust of wind hits them.
“No, you will shut up and listen, what the hell were you thinking? And you, don’t think you’re getting away with this,” I yell pointing at Paul, who has the decency to look sheepish.
“I am so beyond pissed off. Can I please just have one moment where I don’t have to worry about you getting yourself killed Bella!? Because I have tried so God damn hard to keep you alive, despite your best attempts to do the exact opposite. I have spent months perfecting and learning how to protect you and Charlie. Why do you think you’ve never seen a vampire around our house, Bella? Because I exhausted myself warding it, layers and layers of wards so anyone we didn’t know wouldn’t be able to sense the house. I have charmed so many things with protection that it’s insane. Jewelry, clothes, Charlie’s badge. The list is so long,’ I take a sharp intake of breath before continuing.
“I spend every day tracking any vampire activity, and all you have done is make it so much harder! I have one thing for myself, and that’s these boys. This pack that I also spend every day doing whatever I can to make sure they are safe because they have been forced into a role they don’t want. I have enough to worry about, I don’t need to add “my boyfriend getting so angry he blows the pack secret” to that list?” I know I must look crazy, arms flailing, and cheeks flushed, but I can’t stop, that is until Bella interrupts my rant.
“I kind of knew already, this just confirmed it,” Bella says quietly, and everyone around her audibly groans. Embry’s head falls into his hand as he leans against the railing of the porch, Jared shakes his head. Sam looks up to the ceiling in exasperation, Emily flinches, and Paul glares. Even Jacob lets his head hang, waiting for my inevitable reaction.
“IF YOU KNEW WHAT MADE YOU THINK ANTAGONIZING PAUL WAS A GOOD IDEA!” I scream.
Bella didn’t have a great response to that, she just looks down at the ground.
Sam stepped in between us before I can start again, “Alright I think maybe it’s time for Bella to talk to Jacob, give everyone a breather.”
Jacob pulls Bella quickly out of the house towards the beach. Paul was the only one brave enough to step into my vicinity, and the wind died down once he placed his arms around me. I keep my arms crossed in the hug, pouting until I feel myself relax. I pull back, placing my hands on either side of his face.
“I hope Jacob got some good hits in for me, and you better have given him as good as you got” I muttered, and he laughed despite himself.
“Don’t worry my little brawler, we both have been effectively whipped into shape,” he says kissing my head, then looks into my eyes, “I’m sorry.”
I nod once, and the cloud finally dissipates above us. I sigh deeply before curling into him and his warmth.
“It’s cold.”
“Well considering you brought your own weather front, I’m not surprised. Let’s go inside.”
Everyone is silent, looking at me expectantly, waiting for my reaction.
“I’m fine guys, really. Paul will live to see another day.”
“It’s not him I’m worried about,” Emily says, “I’m worried about you, and what you are going to do now that Bella is in the loop.”
“Yeah Anna, you haven’t given yourself a break since I’ve known you,” Jared quips.
“Yes, thank you for reminding me,” I say as Paul sits down, pulling me onto his lap, “I’ll be fine guys, don’t worry.”
They drop it, but their thoughts are loud and demanding. I can hear their worry and I can’t shut it out, so I just close my eyes and lean against Paul. Tuning into our connection quiets the noise, and I can fade into the thrum of our heartbeats. I know this won’t be the last time they bring this up, but I will avoid it as long as I can.
-----------------------------------------------------
Bella walked across the beach solemnly. Jacob trailed behind her, unable to face the gravity of the conversation they needed to have. Once they approached the shore, with the calming waves crashing in the background, Jacob fell in step beside her.
“So, you’re a werewolf,” Bella says after the silence had gotten too heavy. Stuffing his hands in his pockets, he nodded.
“Yeah, last time I checked,” he shrugged, “A few lucky members of the tribe have the gene. Then a bloodsucker moves into town, and the fever sets in.” Bella can clearly see he feels bitter about it, and she holds out hope Jacob is still the same person she knew.
“Mono,” she states.
“Yeah, I wish,” he scoffs.
“Well, can’t you find a way to just stop?” she asks indigently, and Jacob rolls his eyes as she continues, “I mean… it’s wrong.”
“It’s not a lifestyle choice Bella!” Jacob raises his voice and furrows his brow, “I was born this way! I can’t help it.”
He pauses, throwing his arms down in frustration, “You’re such a hypocrite! What? I’m not the right kind of monster for you?”
Bella looks up at him with wide eyes, crossing her arms.
“It’s not what you are, it’s what you do. They never hurt anybody! You’ve… killed people Jake,” she cries out like this was obvious. Jacob shakes his head as she looks down and away from him. Jacob takes a step closer to her, bringing her attention back to him.
“Bella! We’re not killing anyone,” he pleads.
Bella is taken aback, “Then, who is?” she says breathlessly. He can’t believe she doesn’t get it, that she doesn’t understand even after remembering the stories he told her.
“What we’re trying to protect you people from, the only thing we do kill,” he pauses, “Vampires.”
Bella starts to panic a bit, “Jake you can’t!”
“Don’t worry we can’t touch your precious little Cullens unless they violate the treaty,” he interrupts her with another eye roll. Bella just shakes her head, he does not understand what she means.
“I – that’s not what I’m saying, you can’t kill vampires, they’ll kill you.”
“Really? We took out that leach with the dreads easy enough,” Jake says smugly, and finally, Bella realizes maybe there’s more to the wolves than she thought.
“Laurent?” she gasps, her chest pounding. Jacob nods.
“And his red-headed girlfriend is next.”
“V-Victoria’s here,” she stutters, losing her footing, and Jacob goes to steady her, eyebrows raising in concern.
“She was, we chased her all the way to the Canadian border last night. She keeps coming back, but we don’t know what she is after.”
“I do,” Bella gapes, “me.”
Jacob stares at her, concern all over his features. He helps Bella stand, but he can hear her heartbeat pounding in her chest. His urge to kill the bloodsucker has increased tenfold at this moment.
“We should go back, tell Sam and Anna.”
“No, wait, Anna…” Bella trails off, gazing back at the way they came.
“Don’t worry, I’m sure she’s calmed down by now. Paul has that effect on her,” he says, and Bella thinks she is joking, but he’s serious. Jacob notices she looks genuinely scared.
“She’s not safe, why is she with him?” she whispers.
Jacob tenses protectively, “She’s safe Bella, we would never let anyone hurt her.”
“But Paul… what if he hurts her?”
Realization hits him, he had come to know Paul as so much more than just his temper, but the rumors were still in Bella’s head. Hell, he had put them there. Honestly, it was rare he blew up anymore. These days Paul only has three emotions, being in love with me, worrying about me, or focusing on the hunt.
“I know you might not have seen him in the best light today, but trust me, he would rather cut off his own arm than hurt her,” he says seriously.
When Bella continues to stand still. Jacob picks her up underneath her knees. Carrying her will be quicker than walking with all her questions, and to his surprise, she leans into him, laying her head on his shoulder.
“How long has she known about you?” she asks, then softly, “What do you know about her?”
“She’s known since she met Paul, and we know about her too. I found out when I shifted for the first time.”
“That’s why he showed up at my birthday…” she whispers.
Jacob hasn’t heard this story but makes a mental note to ask Paul about it later. It’s a short walk back to Emily’s house with his large and quick steps. They spend it in relative silence, just enjoying being together again.
As they approach the house, Jacob sets her down to walk up the porch steps. The doors are still open, and Jacob stops Bella before she walks in. When Bella gives him a questioning glance, he just points inside.
“See for yourself,” he whispers.
Bella looks to where he is pointing and is genuinely shocked at what she sees. Paul and I are sitting in the old La-Z-Boy in the corner of Emily’s living room, while the rest of the pack and Emily are lounging around. It’s a rare moment, everyone relaxing for even a moment, but Emily strong-armed Sam into an uninterrupted hour of calm.
Paul’s arms are secured around my waist as I am draped over his lap, laying my head on his shoulder just like she was a moment ago with Jacob. My head is suddenly thrown back in a laugh as he peppers quick kisses all over my cheek and neck through his own smiles. Embry throws a pillow at us from the couch, making a fake sound of annoyance, but it just makes us laugh more.
Bella can’t see what’s playing on the TV, but it doesn’t look like anyone is paying much attention to it anyway. Everyone is mostly just enjoying each other’s company. She sees the way Paul looks at me, and suddenly, she gets it. This isn’t the guy who was shaking with rage just hours ago, now he’s gazing up at me with a sickeningly sweet adoration that makes Bella’s heart crack. I look the most relaxed Bella has seen in a month; she doesn’t think I’ve had my guard down at all. That has to be tiring.
They look like a family, Bella thinks. There’s a distinctive warmth surrounding them that Bella knows is lacking in her own house, the only time she sees it is when she sees Charlie and me cooking together, or sitting on the couch with the game on, and the warmth leaves when she enters the room.
She’s about to do the same thing here, break up this happy moment, and for the first time since Edward left, Bella actually feels guilty about it.

Eddie had already been terrified enough, hiding from everyone in an attempt to escape from inevitable arrest, if they found a girl in his school year dead in his trailer, he was sure he would be the first suspect. But the fear he felt only heightened when he heard the rustle of car wheels break outside the house he was resided in.
So, when he moved to lay underneath the tarp in the boathouse, he tried to control his shaking upon the door creaking open with uninvited voices joining the party. He held his breath, refusing to utter a sound in fear of being caught.
However, he inhales a sharp breath when the end of the tarp starts getting poked, two voices bickering from outside and Eddie clutches his makeshift weaponised bottle closer to his chest as he awaits to attack in hopes he could escape, unsure of where he would even go next.
The rustling stopped, and he lets his mind focus for a moment while the voices continue across the small room. Deciding that while they’re distracted, he’ll attack and then make a run for it, Eddie whips the tarp off and aims for the first person he can see.
Streams of screaming enters the room as he pushes the frame against the boathouse wall, holding the cracked bottle up to his neck while he fights against his grip. He can hear his name being shouted, feeling like far away in the distance, but as it continues on through his deep breathing, he turns when it suddenly starts to sound familiar.
“It’s me. It’s Dustin. This is Steve. He’s not gonna hurt you, right, Steve?” he glances back to Steve in front, but by how frightened Eddie was, he doesn’t loosen his grip on the man’s shoulder or of his bottle, even when he whispers back, “right, yeah.”
Steve’s told to drop the oar and Eddie hears the battering from beside him, causing him to jump while pressing the bottle further against Steve’s skin, threatening to penetrate it. His breath is ragged and rushed as he listens to Dustin continue to use assurance against him while Steve’s whispering, “I’m cool, man. I’m cool.”
“What are you doing here?” he finally asks, “we’re looking for you,” responds Dustin. “We’re here to help you,” his threatened yet feared expression drops at the unfamiliar voice, head turning back to face the group, only to now see the figures behind Dustin.
Max, who he knew as his neighbour, Robin, who he was also acquainted to, and quite possibly the most beautiful person he had ever seen beside her. Her voice was soft, far more assuring than Dustin’s and calmed Eddie’s nerves all the while looking at her indulgent gaze, a feeling of non-judgement and tenderness packed into one.
His breathing was heavy, yet he was sure Steve could hear it steady as Dustin begins to introduce them, “Eddie, these are my friends. You know Robin, from band.” He feels more relaxed when Dustin points to her, while she makes a weak attempt of imitating a trumpet.
“This is Max. The one who never wants to play D&D,” and she sends a small wave in return, “… and who’s that?” Eddie asks without a beat, nodding towards the girl on the end who smiles at him softly, even when his tone sounded harsh, “this is Y/n. I’ve told you about her before.”
Right. The sunshine and rainbow girl, Eddie thinks, remembering how Dustin and Mike would always refer to her as. His eyes lightly scan down her frame, a dress adorning her and almost making him instantly dizzy as he loses focus.
“Eddie. His eyes abruptly snap back to Dustin upon his voice, “we’re on your side.” He realises he still has a grip against Steve and listens as the group all begin to swear on Dustin’s mother, the voices around him overwhelming him as he hesitantly moves away from Steve, his grip faltering as he walks to the side to slide down the wall.
Flashbacks of Chrissy’s death continue to haunt Eddie’s mind, what was supposed to be a minor and confidential drug deal with the cheerleader in his year, turned into quite possibly the worst moment of his life. He didn’t do anything and has no idea what happened but the images from back at the trailer continue to appear and cause tears to well up in his eyes, as they have been ever since he has went in hiding.
His hands were shaking atop his lap as he rests against the wall, hardly noticing Dustin’s crouch until he felt his hand near the bottle in his grip, pulling it away from him. He shakes his head at Dustin’s continued assurance, knowing if he told them what he saw, they would bid him crazy.
“We want to know what happened,” he closes his eyes upon Robin’s words, allowing the tears to escape and float down his cheeks and as he sniffles before turning back to the group, “you won’t believe me.” Everyone is around him, Steve sitting over the side as he holds his neck, but Eddie quickly shifts his glance back to Y/n, the way she looked at him, comforting and with assurance, only caused him to do so, allowing them to hear about everything.
From that moment on, Eddie grew not only a liking to Y/n but a flourishing fondness for her whenever the group were present to help him. Dustin and Mike were right, she was all sunshine and the immense fear he felt living in that house himself as a wanted man would vanish into thin air the second they arrived, Y/n sporting her wide and kind smile.
The moment there was sudden noise from out-with the boathouse, Eddie would try to rush them into leaving, hand reaching for Y/n’s arm to move her away anxiously while a guilty wave washes over his frame from dragging them into this.
Eddie thought he must’ve looked crazy, flinching at any noise that weren’t within the group, wide-eyed and forcing as much food and drink down his throat whenever they brought more over. There couldn’t have been a worse time for Y/n to meet him, an innocent man terrified while on the run from being framed with murder.
But she never showed judgement. Y/n was always smiling at him, whenever he would get too anxious, her hand would fall atop his to gently bring him back down, offering to always talk when he needed. And when he would watch them leave, walking back to Steve’s car down the path, Eddie would yearn for her until they return.
However, it didn’t take long until they were together almost all the time. Just not in a way Eddie would want. When he thought his situation couldn’t get more complicated and anxiety-building, Jason and his group found him which led him escaping to Skull Rock where he awaited his friend's return.
Which directed them to devising a plan, and suddenly he was taking Y/n’s hand to help her steadily step upon the boat's wooden panels as they collectively search for the open gate. Once they were down the lake, Eddie tears his glance from the children by the ground afar and toward the large open lake, wondering how and why he got into the position he was in at that moment, while they await Steve’s return from searching underwater.
Eddie’s focus diminishes for a moment too long, eyes flickering to follow the white glittering water rippling across from the reflection of the moon above, yet his mind far from in front of him. But before it can get too distant, before he finds himself backtracking too long and sending himself into a spiral, a hand lands on his knee.
He tenses beneath the touch, head refusing to move in acknowledgement but his eyes glancing in wonder from the water and to his jeans, and nearly falls back off the boat and into the water when Y/n’s breath grazes his cheek, whispering into his ear, “hey, don’t stray too far from us.”
“Hm?” Eddie murmurs, nudging his head to the side and close to Y/n. She giggles lowly, trying to keep quiet but Eddie notices Robin’s glance their way before smirking knowingly at Nancy, her knee bouncing anxiously as Nancy gazes at her watch.
“You looked like you were far away in thought.”
“Oh, yeah,” he drags out the ‘yeah’ with a deep rasp, “I mean, just thinking about how selling a cheerleader some weed leads me to running away from cops and also my own sanity as well as hearing about this real-life d and d shit. Does stuff to a guy, you know?”.
Y/n nods, Eddie watching her expression as she does so, flitting from the little hairs against her forehead straying from the wind and down to her lips which tug upwards in a soft, kind smile. Eddie really wanted to kiss her. And with the way this was going down, he might take a chance, given the life-threatening ordeal he was dealing with.
How could someone so innocent and full of optimism and sunshine be involved with this entire upside-down world, fighting off monsters alongside Steve Harrington and Dustin through these years he sat idly caring about Dungeons and Dragons.
To Eddie, Y/n was an extraordinary person, a masterpiece to the eyes, her personality and forgiven nature a saint in disguise. Not even the sun was as bright to Eddie, not as soon as she stepped through that door, beside her friends to protect him.
But he wanted to protect her, it should be the other way around, right?
Eddie was the metal head, and Y/n was the angel. That’s how it works.
And a nasty, gut feeling settles across Eddie’s stomach as he realises their situation. Wanting to protect her, and here they were, apparently above a gate to this other dimension where God-knows what is controlled by the master puppet, Vecna. And she sat beside him in that very boat crossing the lake.
“I can imagine,” Y/n’s words snapped Eddie from his minds attempt to escape once again, and he furrows his brows from nearly forgetting what they were talking about. “Say, could you— I mean obviously once we’re all out of this Vecna thing— which I hope is soon—” Eddie’s lips quirk into a smirk as he leans his head down to Y/n’s level, elbow nudging hers teasingly, “spit it out, buttercup. We don’t have long, you know?”.
Y/n chuckles quickly at his teasing words, “could you teach me Dungeons and Dragons? I mean only if you’d like to, of course! Lucas said he’d teach me, but I get the feeling Eddie Munson would be a greater teacher at it.”
Eddie could have died happily over-the-moon at that moment. Forget the Vecna shit, the gates and running from the law. Fuck all of that when the girl he already adores, eyes prettily looking at his own, is asking him to teach her his game.
He nearly, just nearly, lets his mind wander once again, wanting to picture Y/n in a Hellfire shirt from the second she had asked the question.
How could Eddie say no? In what world did she think he would?
“Give me your size and you’ll have the Hellfire shirt in the snap of a finger, sunshine,” Eddie watches as Y/n’s body language visibly flusters, eyes snapping from his and to her lap, trying to contain her smile as lines arch across the corner of her lips, shifting in her spot with excited glee.
Robin tears her watch from the pining pair and towards Nancy, speaking through her scared sigh, “where we at, Wheeler?”. Nancy glances back up at their friend after checking her watch, Eddie and Y/n dropping their conversation to focus, “closing in on a minute.”
“Okay.”
They all go silent, awaiting the return of Steve anxiously and Eddie leans his lower back against the boat while they all watch the water, his arm dropping to rest behind Y/n. But before Eddie can get too comfortable, a sudden burst of noise causes them all to flinch as Steve jumps from the water.
“Oh, Christ!” Eddie’s the only one to yell as the rest exclaim in fright, Y/n holding her chest while they all catch their breath. Listening to Steve explain what he saw, the snack-sized gate hidden at the bottom of the lake.
However, before much more can be discussed, Steve’s pulled under, only shortly as his hands that grip the edge of the boat pull him back up. “Steve…” Y/n eerily trails off, everyone confused and looking around.
“Yeah?”
“Get back on the boat.”
 “Yeah, good call.”
Steve starts to lift his body out of the water, hand reaching for Y/n’s extended one but just as they graze, he’s submerged within the water again. His whole body being brought below in one firm pull, and he’s suddenly nowhere in sight.
This time they all scream, Steve’s name flown into the late-night empty air as they all lean over the boat to frantically search for any sign of him. Yet, while a glittery glint crosses the water, the lake is pitch black beneath, unable to get proper sight of anything unless underwater yourself.
“We have to go in!” Y/n exclaims between all their shouting, Eddie body jerking atop the boat frantically as his eyebrows furrow, “what do you mean ‘we have to go in’? Like hell are we going in.” Eddie’s hand wraps around Y/n’s upper arm, pulling her back when she stands up, both girls shouting towards Nancy who towers her body above the water.
Before they knew it, Nancy was jumping under the water, leaving with a quick ‘just wait here’. And Eddie is suddenly yelling again as they watch the next person dive beneath the water.
“Y/n, for the love of Christ, will you sit down? you’re freaking me the fuck out!” Eddie’s grip tugs Y/n who’s still standing on the rocking boat. Y/n refuses to budge, mind reeling as she debates following swiftly behind Nancy, but before she can decide, Eddie’s loud voice booms once more, “Robin, no, no, no, no!”.
Y/n looks to her side where Robin perches against the edge, testing Eddie’s patience as she falls backwards into the open water to follow Nancy towards the other gate, nodding to Y/n before she leaned back.
This time Eddie’s grip tightens against Y/n’s arm and he fears he may bruise her, but he refuses to let go in fear she’ll not only put herself in danger but leave him alone. It’s protective. The way Eddie tries to keep only her by his side and above the water, but if Y/n falls beneath the sheet of water, Eddie knows he will immediately be following behind.
“Eddie,” Y/n’s voice cuts in, Eddie already knowing what she’s going to say with a fast, ‘no’ following. “Let go of me,” but Eddie pulls her towards him in an attempt to sit her down, but her legs only shift back, refusing to bend down, and she nearly falls off the boat. Eddie freaks out, hand leaving her bicep to rest against her back so she doesn’t topple over and he puffs out shaky breaths as they go silent.
“Don’t leave me alone, can’t let you go down there,” Eddie ushers, desperate and scared, voice rushed and unhappy. “They’re my friends, I’m sorry,” Y/n looks behind her, locking eyes with Eddie’s dark pupils, begging her to stick to his side.
Ever the actress, Eddie watches as her eyes glance to behind him, widening in fear as she gasps, “Dustin! What are you doing here?”. Eddie’s quick to react, turning to the open water behind him as he believes he’ll catch his younger friend swimming towards the boat, only to be met with a blank view.
Eddie’s eyes close in pent up anger as he hears a splash, not having to see to know Y/n’s tricked him into letting her go. Causing Eddie to shout, loud and clear into the night as he stands from his spot, facing the way Y/n left.
“Goddamn it, lying son of a… bitch!”
Why did he like someone so caring and ready to put herself in danger for others, willing to lie right to his face in order to escape his grip? Why did he like Y/n when he knew the second any danger arises, he was now more-than-willing to fall headfirst in attempts to protect her?
But that’s exactly why he did like her, Eddie’s mind reeling in increasing fear as the seconds pass too quickly in his head, muttering ‘this is so stupid’ repeatedly as he grips the boat while tumbling over. Headfirst into the life-threatening scenario.
Oh, yes. Eddie thought, he was definitely going to kiss her the second he crossed this gate. As he swam down the water behind Y/n’s disappearing frame, it was as clear as day to him.

This man is the only famous person who should be allowed on tumblr
What’s it like to be on tumblr and observe everyone talking the Sandman?
Astonishingly reminiscent of what it was like to be on Tumblr and having everyone talking about Good Omens, only without the arguments about whether or not various occult and/or ethereal entities were gay.

Endangered | Chapter Sixteen
Paul Lahote x OFC
Endangered Masterlist
Summary: Vampires and wolves are not the only supernatural creatures to walk the earth, and they are certainly not the only ones in Forks, Washington when Charlotte Annabeth Swan, “Anna”, moves in with her uncle after the unfortunate demise of her parents.
Some may misidentify her as a witch, but that’s fine, she would rather them think that anyway. But the Volturi know the truth, and they are closing in on her.
A/N: Sorry this took forever. Work got busy and classes started up again, but I’m back! The fall vibes b ring the Twilight vibes.
Tumblr media
As suspected, Bella was not handling the fact Jacob wasn’t answering her calls well. Billy had told her Jacob came down with mono, but she didn’t care. She wanted to see him, come hell or high water.
“Have you heard from him?” she asked me one morning on the drive to school, biting her lip. A tell-tale sign of her anxiety. Her grip tightened on the steering wheel as she glanced at me.
“No, I haven’t,” I say, focusing on the road, hoping if she can’t see my eyes, she can’t tell I’m lying.
“I think I should just go,” she mutters, slumping down in her seat.
“Mono is highly contagious, Bella.”
“Not that contagious,” she mutters.
I should have known nothing would change her mind. When Bella Swan has her mind set on something, there’s not much one can do to stop her. It will come to a head eventually.
Eventually came that Saturday morning, as Charlie and Harry were about to head out to go fishing, and I was going to go over to Emily’s.
“Wait!” I yelled at the men walking through the living room, closing the cooler on the table.
“Here’s lunch,” I say lugging it over to them.
“Thanks, Anna,” Charlie smiles at me, “I appreciate it.”
“Thank you,” Harry follows, and I smile back at them.
“Have a good time alright?”
Charlie begins to speak but is struck silent by Bella’s voice, his shoulders deflate at the name she speaks sadly into the speaker.
“Jacob?” she says with a frown, “Call me.” Bella slams the phone and turns as Charlie straightens to cover up his concern.
“You know, I don’t have to go today,” he says.
“Yes, you do,” deadpans Harry, glancing at me with a bit of disdain.
“Yeah, you do. Go. What are you talking about?” she says crossing her arms, pulling herself tight, “Just be careful.”
“Always am,” Charlie replies, a reluctant expression on his face.
“Those bears won’t get the drop on me, Bella. My kung fu is strong.”
I can’t help but laugh at Harry, who smiles and gives me a knowing look. With a wink, they both finally walk out the door.
Bears. That’s what the town had come up with for the missing hikers. It was a bit funny, that the wolves were being mistaken for bears, but I hated how they somehow were taking the blame for a problem they were working so hard to solve. I could tell it bothered them too, no matter how hard Sam and Emily worked to take their minds off of it.
Once they leave, it’s just us. The silence weighs heavily between them as Bella sulks on the couch.
“You know, I don’t have to go. I can stay,” I offer half-heartedly.
“No, I know he’s been busy. You should go.”  She waves me off with a sigh, falling over to the side to lay on the couch.
She at least has the energy to be dramatic, that’s a good sign.
She was right though; Paul had been busy. The vampire was always one step ahead of them, and it was all hands-on deck most days.
“Are you sure Bells?” I hesitate to grab my bag by the door, waiting for her answer.
“Yeah, I have homework anyway.”
With a nod, I tell her goodbye and grab my stuff before heading out.
It only takes Bella fifteen minutes before she gets too impatient, she jumps in her truck and makes her way in the same direction.
--------------------------------------------------------------
I jump off the couch, my book slipping from my hands as I yelp in surprise at the noise coming from Emily’s porch.
It’s Jacob, slamming the door to Emily’s house so hard it makes Sam take a step back before opening it for the rest of them. Paul and Jacob look particularly pissed off as they all file in, finding seats around the table. Paul doesn’t even stay or speak. He just gives me a chaste kiss on the head before walking out the back.
“Hey!” I scold Jacob, “Be respectful.”
Jacob has the decency to look up sheepishly at Emily, “I’m sorry.”
“It wouldn’t be the first time Jake. It’s why the door stays open most of the time,” she smirks, handing him a glass of water.
“What’s wrong?” I ask, walking up to the table, and leaning on the back of Jake’s chair.
“Bella came over,” Jacob groans.
“Oh shit,” I gasp.
“Yeah, she knows I’m not sick, and she thinks Sam “got to me.” Jacob rolls his eyes as he drops his air quotes, but I can hear the hurt in his voice.
“Great,” I groan, “I cannot wait for her to accuse you all of being in a gang yet again.”  I rub my temples to soothe the oncoming headache I am getting.
“A gang?” Sam perks up with curiosity, “Who thinks we are in a gang?”
I look down at Jake.
“That’s all you dude,” I pat him on the shoulders twice.
“Yeah, thanks Anna,” he mocks as Sam raises an eyebrow at him. Embry is trying his best not to make eye contact with Sam and Jacob, and I can’t help but laugh.
“You’re welcome!” I exclaim, turning to go check on Paul. Before I can take a step, Jacob moves to grab my hand to stop me.
“Wait! I might have said something about the Cullen’s to her.” Jake admits.
“Jake” I groan, pressing the heel of my palms into my eyes
“I’m sorry! I just saw her and got so mad.”
“Now she’s definitely going to grill me about how you know and what I know.”
“I’m sorry,” he pouts.
I sigh, “It’s fine. I’m going to check on Paul. What’s the matter with him?”
“Oh, he just really does not like Bella.”
“Sounds about right,” I say exasperatedly.
Walking outside, Paul is taking deep breaths. I make sure to make noise while walking up to announce my presence before wrapping my arms around him and resting my head on his back.
“Hey,” I whisper, “It’s okay.”
He nods, shoulders losing a bit of their tension.
“She just continually makes things harder. For you, for Jake…” he trails off, seething.
“I didn’t know you two were close now,” I tease, moving to face him.
Paul shoots me a look.
“Kidding, I know, pack bond and all” I run my hands through his hair, and he closes his eyes, leaning into the touch.
“It’s not really her fault,” I add quietly.
“Let’s agree to disagree,” he grumbled.
“Paul…”
“Anna, I love you, and I know she is your family, but she has put you through so much. It will take a while for me to get over it. It’s hard when she doesn’t even know or refused to acknowledge those few months.”
“Well, I doubt things will get easier soon, I think Jacob would rather go all lone wolf rather than not keep Bella around.”
“Great,” he exhales, pulling me close to him and resting his chin on my head.
“It’ll be okay.”
He sighs and kisses my head, “Just as long as you’re okay.”
“I’m okay, promise. I’ll always be okay.”
He presses his lips into mine in a needy kiss.
“I hope so,” he whispers.
--------------------------------------------------------------
“Dad!”
Bella bursts through the door, yelling into the kitchen where Harry is standing next to him. I jump from the sudden intrusion.
“Dad, I saw them!” She yells as she steps next to me.
“What’s the matter,” Charlie asks.
“In the woods. They’re not bears!” She gasps out, and my entire body freezes. Oh god, no. Harry’s eyes fly to me, and with a slight shake of his head I steel my reaction.
“What do you mean in the woods? Bella, what the hell are you doing out in the woods?!” Charlie groans.
Bella doesn’t stop, “They’re wolves, I mean, they’re like HUGE wolves.”
“Are you sure about that Bella?” Harry interjects.
“Yeah, I just saw them. They were after… something.” She falters, and it feels like ice has replaced the blood in my veins.
She saw a vampire.
“Wolves? You saw ‘em?” Charlie repeats.
Bella nods and my heart drops.
“Alright, well,” Charlie pauses, looking up at us, “Harry. Feel like going hunting? Get some of your guys together?”
“Sure, yeah, I’ll just…” Harry walks out with his phone in his hand, and I am quick to follow.
I stare wide-eyed at Harry in the hallway, my breath ragged and my eyes are wide.
“Harry…” I whisper.
“I know. All of them are out right now, I can’t call them.”
“Fuck,” I run my hands through my hair, pushing it out of my face before it dawns on me. How far can my telepathy go?
“Okay,” I take a deep breath and meet Harry’s eyes, “I can maybe do something. Give them a warning.” He nods, not asking any more questions. He knows he shouldn’t push.
“Work your magic kid, I’m going to call the elders. Make sure whoever is coming knows the deal.”
“Thank you, Harry,” I whisper, my body shaking with panic.
Harry puts his hand on my shoulder, “They’ll be okay. I promise.”
I nod, not trusting my voice before he starts making calls. I slip out the back door, making my way towards the forest.
I hope to God this works. It has got to work. I step through the tree line, making sure I can’t be seen from the house.
Closing my eyes, I focus on the hum of magic surrounding me. It takes a moment, but when I open my eyes, I am met with a sea of gold. Magic threads of energy connect everything. Here in the forest, it’s almost overwhelming.
There’s always one that’s a little bigger and brighter than the rest though, the one connecting me to Paul. I reach out to touch it, and with it, I can feel a thrum of love. I focus, trying to feel him.
It works, and I know he’s alerted to what I’m doing as confusion floods through me, but it’s not mine. This is the farthest I’ve pushed our connection, and it’s also the farthest we’ve been apart while I try. Pain stabs through my brain, and the confusion turns into concern. Despite the pain, the connection to him helps me send him a message despite the distance, and by extension, the whole pack.
There’s a police hunt happening, and they are looking for wolves. Giant wolves. You need to get out of the forest. Please, stay safe boys.
A multitude of thoughts bombards me at once, the force of it making my knees buckle. The pack bond is something I might not ever get used to. Words mixed with memories and emotions all swirling around at once. My head feels like it’s exploding. I can’t tell the voices apart with all the noise in my head.
They are looking for wolves now?
Now there’s going to be tons of humans in the woods, in her way.
Bella. That’s Paul, growling. Even in my thoughts, I can tell it was him.
I get hit with a memory, Bella standing in the woods alone, with a vampire about to kill her. What was she thinking being out there only?
I watch from what I think is Jacob’s perspective, I can feel the longing and the heartbreak. Bella’s curious gaze stares back, a hint of recognition in her eyes.
She’s so close to finding out.
I remember what happened in the kitchen, effectively replaying the scene for them, and they seem to settle at Harry’s reassurance.
I’m going to Emily’s. I say to Paul, even if they all can hear me.
No, stay home.
Not a chance in hell.
I hear Paul’s wolf form growl. In the months we have been together, he still had reservations about me being around him when shifted. It was a boundary I tried not to push too much, but it looks like that it might have to fall soon.
Sorry, love.
I close the connection and the gold surrounding me cuts off like a light. I catch myself falling completely with my hands, cutting them on the rocks on the ground.
It takes a minute before I can move, my eyes won’t stay open, and the light too painful to my head.
When I’m able to stand, I notice the blood steadily dripping down my face from my nose.
That’s new, I think. I try to clean it up as best as I can before texting Charlie, telling him Jessica was having a girl emergency, before getting in my Jeep to drive to the Reservation. On the way, my nose starts to bleed again. I wipe it away, feeling my body get heavier and heavier.
Fuck.
I barely remember what happens after I get to Emily’s house. I know I stumbled through the door and panicked as I told Emily that the boys were in danger. But then, it goes black. My body just… gives out.
--------------------------------------------------------------
It’s the sound of arguing that wakes me up. I can’t tell who is talking or what they are saying, but it hurts. It’s too loud. A small whimper escapes my lips as I try to move, turning away from the noise.
“Hey, hey, hey, hey,” Paul whispers, “it’s okay.” He shushes the voices in the background, his hand running through my hair. “Can you hear me, Anna?”
I nod weakly, squeezing my eyes to block out any light.
“S’hurts,” I mumble.
Paul lets out a relieved sigh, “I know, Emily is bringing you some medicine.” He kisses my head and slowly helps me up into a seated position. I finally open my eyes, closing them again after feeling the stares of all of the boys, crowding around the bed I’m laying on.
“I’m glad you guys are safe,” I say, rubbing my eyes.
Sam lets out a dry chuckle, “You shouldn’t be worried about us, we are glad you’re okay.”
I shrug, “I don’t even know what happened.”
“You gave me a heart attack, that’s what happened,” Emily declares, entering the room with a glass of water and aspirin in her hands. “You walked in, blood covering your face, and passed out. You hit your head when you fell.” She frowns. “Sue Clearwater came over and looked you over. She doesn’t think you’ll have a concussion, just some pain.”
“Ah,” I nod, “That’s why the lights feel particularly stabby.” Paul takes the water from her and helps me hold it despite the glare I’m giving him. With the medicine down, I lean back into the bed.
“I’m sorry for scaring you, Em,” I say.
“What about us?” Jared speaks up, “You scared us too.”
“I’m sorry, to all of you. But you guys needed the warning. I didn’t want anyone getting hurt.”
“Thank you, Anna,” Sam interjects, “You just rest for now.” He looks around at everyone, “Come on, let’s give her some space.”
With a groan, they all say their goodbyes, as they walk out the door, Jared peaks his head back in.
“Seriously, that was terrifying. Please don’t do that again. We all love you and hate to see you hurt Feel better Anna,” he says before rushing off.
And then there were two…
“You’ve been quiet,” I whisper. Paul had been sitting in a chair next to the bed, not taking his eyes off me. Worry surrounded him. I could tell.
“Yeah,” he sighs, “I’m just… I think I’m too worried to really explain it.”
“You’re not mad at me?”
He smiles sadly at me, then moves to sit on the bed wrapping his arms around me.
“No, I’m not. I know it won’t do much. I was worried, then absolutely terrified. Now, I’m just relieved.”
“I couldn’t let you guys get ambushed.”
He nods and kisses my head, “I know, we can talk about it later. Right now, I think I just need to be with you and hear your heartbeat. Know that you are okay.”
Looking up at him, I can see the fear still in his eyes. This was a new side of Paul. I was expecting a protective Paul or even an angry Paul, but right now he really is just scared. It breaks my heart.
“Yeah baby, that sounds like a plan.” I nod and lean into him. The silence surrounds us like a warm blanket, and Paul’s arms around me tighten, like keeping me close won’t let me slip away.
I try not to let it show, but I hold him just as tightly.

steven listening to your writing
Tumblr media
warnings: literally none, this is pure, unadulterated fluff :)
“What are you up to, dove?”
“ ‘m just writing.” Steven looked over your shoulder at your notebook, the handwriting gradually getting messier as it descended down the page. “Felt suddenly inspired, you know?”
“That’s wonderful, darling.” Steven pressed a kiss to your forehead to which you leaned into him, feeling his warmth, thriving on it. “Can I hear it?” You looked up at him and was surprised when he was already looking excitedly in your eyes.
“You… want to hear my writing?”
“I would like nothing more.” You felt your heart skip a beat and you picked up the papers, shuffling round on your chair. “Wait, stand up a second.” You obliged just for him to sit in the chair and gently urge you to sit on his lap. “There we go. Do continue, my love.”
You began muttering a few ‘it might not be very good’ and ‘it isn’t finished quite yet’ to which he placed a few reassuring kisses to your collarbone. And then, you began.
And Steven was completely enchanted. He watched as you got lost in the words, your words, which you had so perfectly crafted on the paper. He struggled to believe a mortal being could make words so beautiful. He swore his heart grew in size, each inch being further lost in the very essence of you.
And when you were done… he didn’t know whether he should laugh, or cry, or clap. But he settled on silence.
“So… what did you, uh, think?” Your voice was laced with worry; worry that he didn’t like it, that you sucked and he thought that. Steven began shaking his head and your heart sank. But as fast as it did this, it was lifted back up, as if out of your being, as Steven kissed you passionately.
“Woah. That was… incredible. Simply… simply marvellous, my love.” He punctuated his words with light kisses to your lips, making you laugh, stomach doing flips.
“You really think so?” Now, he laughed too, looking into your eyes so deeply, that you felt dizzy.
“I could listen to your writing all day, every day. It’s heavenly. I’m not kidding. I just, I love it. I love you.” You just smiled the purest smile as he spoke so passionately of you, too you, and wrapped your arms around his neck.
“I love you, Steven.” You gently traced his features with your thumb, feeling euphoric. “I never thought I’d find someone who would listen to my writing.”
“Darling, I will happily listen until the day I die.”

I’m stalking the TF tag and had to reblog this because it makes me laugh every time
It’s really such a bonding experience to see how much we all hate Tom
But why did they need tom there?? like will wasn't in unless tom was there?
idk like they were all 'tom is the planner 🤪' then the plan was something i could have cooked up in 5 minutes with the same intel he had lmao
familiarity of leadership or something probably had something to do with it (minimizing the unexpected by having as many familiar and trusted elements as possible) although its clear santi is leading and did all the real planning and intel gathering
