Captain von Trapp with a chronically ill s/o would include~
(Not my gif)(Requested by anonymous)
- Thereâs many reasons that a person would keep their chronic illness as a not-so-secret secret but in your case, the main reason you didnât tell Georg was because of his first wife.Â
- The woman who left him widowed; Agathe, had developed a case of Scarlet Fever, spent six months in the hospital, healed but never fully recovered and passed away soon after she was released. So it was safe to say that illness and weakened states frightened the Captain.Â
- So, in an attempt not to frighten the man for no reason, youâd opted not to mention the illness youâd grown accustomed to over the many years youâd suffered from it. You werenât gonna die anytime soon; at least you hoped not, and you knew heâd have his reservations about you if youâd brought it up; so you didnât.Â
- It wasnât until youâd both gone to visit your mother that you; or rather your mother, was âforcedâ to tell him the truth.Â
- The long ride had tired you out and the bad weather had aggravated the usually bearable effects of your illness so by the time youâd arrived at your childhood home, you were looking worse for wear.Â
- Captain von Trapp was rightfully concerned as he delicately led you to the front door, watching closely as your mother immediately rushed to take you into her own arms and usher you to bed as though it were perfectly normal.
- He waited anxiously for the older woman to return and once she did, he began to question her about your health, surprised by how nonchalant she was. She cluelessly told him that he shouldnât get so excited and that it happened all the time, ever since âsheâ was blah, blah, blah.Â
- He sat there flabbergasted and she just said something along the lines of âWhat? She didnât tell you?â. No. No she didnât. Boy were you in for a talk.Â
- It probably takes him a day or two to visit the room youâre resting in or spend a lot of time with you after he finds out, not because he doesnât care but because he needs some time to get used to it. Once he does, itâs all hands on deck.Â
- He probably moves his study, or has a specific room for you to stay in thatâs next to his study for when youâre sicker than usual so that he can hear you easily; should you need him or go into a coughing fit that he deems too harsh.Â
- Speaking of coughing: pretty much every time you have a fit or a fever or faint, you have to stop him from calling for the doctor because heâll insist that itâs worse this time than it usually is.Â
- Once you show any signs of fatigue, heâs ordering that you go to bed and stay in it; regardless of whether youâre at the peak of a flare up or not. Youâre going to have to be very persistent about doing things and going about your day like normal because if you arenât, heâs content to keep you napping until noon and doing as little as possible for âthe sake of your healthâ.Â
- But, if you overexert yourself and wind up getting yourself sick in some way, heâs going to be very stern with you, reprimanding you as if you were a child. Although heâs not really angry with you, just worried.Â
âAnd you, you should be in bed! You could have hurt yourself.âÂ
- Youâve never seen such a powerful, taciturn and domineering man make such a fuss over someone. Itâs almost amusing the way heâs prepared to run in circles for you; as though youâll break if you get out of bed to get the book thatâs on your dresser.Â
- Considering the fact that youâre generally a little more frail and fatigued than the usual motherly figure, heâll most likely get a nanny or helper to come and take care of you and the children. Seven children is a lot for a perfectly well woman, let alone someone who can barely walk up a flight of stairs.Â
- Speaking of children, they all like to come and visit you when youâre in bed or relaxing a little. The little ones oftentimes come and play at the end of your bed, or theyâll all come in and gather around your bed so that you can read to them and youâll have to insist that you donât mind when Georg comes in to tell them to leave you alone.Â
- Youâll sometimes ask him to play the guitar or sing for you since heâs intent on having you rest and heâll find himself unable to deny you; even if he wanted to.Â
- Picnics and just sitting outside together. Youâll stay and relax in the shade while you watch the children run around. He thinks the air is good for you and he likes the feeling of you by his side.Â
- That being said, heâs always checking in on you and making sure youâre alright, watching closely whenever you begin to zone out or perspire; as though itâs not just because itâs 100 degrees outside.Â
- Bridal carrying. Coming home from a long day and hint at being even a little tired? Heâs sweeping you up into his arms before you can even blink.Â
- He always keeps an eye on you at parties. The ones you go to or host are usually packed full of people and the lack of space and air makes him a little more protective over you.Â
- And when it comes to parties, you know damn well that everyone is going to be fussing over you and asking how youâre feeling; whether to you or him, just because thatâs the way high society is.Â
- Overall, you give him a head ache but he loves you dearly.Â

hi. welcome back to hurting you emotionally.
what if when georg was singing edelweiss, he was actually singing about maria.
Edelweiss, Edelweiss (maria)
Every morning you greet me
Small and white clean and bright (her gentle demeanor)
You look happy to meet me (she was happy when she met him)
Blossom of snow may you bloom and grow (the snow symbolizes bitterness and her âmiserable youthâ (referenced in something good) and how she grew from it)
Bloom and grow forever
Edelweiss, Edelweiss
Bless my homeland forever. (youâve blessed our home forever)
youâre welcome :)

I'm on a big Sound of Music kick myself. I've watched the movie, currently reading the book "Forever Liesl" and watching the musical play on YouTube during my lunch breaks. The Newsies is one of my other favorites too. Just like the Sound of Music is based on a real family, The Newsies is based on a real historical event. I hope you check it out or if you've already seen it let me know your thoughts. :)
does anyone have any reccomendations for musicals like singin' in the rain and the sound of music? i LOVE movies/musicals like that but i've only ever seen like five of them or something like that ://

âFond as I am of you... I really don't think you're the right man for me. Youâre much too independentâ
Baroness Schraeder may be the villain of the story, but in my mind she wasnât. Though she did have her faults, I think she loved the Captain. She bowed out so gracefully when she realized he was meant to be with Maria, not putting any blame on him.
đ Her fabulous sense of style does make her more likeable. đ
