Hello there @sapphorarelyreads​, I saw you sent me an ask for GL suggestions but something happened to it so I’m just going to post it here. I’m not sure if I can help a lot since many gls are so short that I tend to avoid them, but I’ll try to come up with some! I’ll put them here with some brief information and their MDL links.

Oh! My Sunshine Night Update

As of 08.11.21

There have been many new updates for the upcoming drama Oh! My Sunshine Night (alt. title Love@9) in the last few weeks. Now that filming has officially begun, here is a (hopefully) comprehensive rundown of everything we know about the show so far, including plot summary, cast, and some more behind-the-scenes information and fun facts about the origins of the series.

Summary

The first rough summary for the series was released in Thai by Newsinfinity Entertainment (source 1).

This summary was translated by a fan (@AllAbtOhmFluke on Twitter (source 2)) and can be read below:

Kim and Rain are the siblings of the real estate Kannakool family. Rain is a 4th year student who is friendly and very different from his younger brother, Kim, a 3rd year student who is quiet and introverted. The two siblings have a friend and bodyguard named Phayu, the son of the Kannakool family's butler.

The world of Kim changes after he meets Sun, who just transferred to the university. Sun is an optimistic person that loves playing the guitar but was born with heart disease. A good relationship forms between Kim and Sun in the classical music club, but misunderstandings, rivalries, and family problems await them in the near future. What destiny will they face? Further information/translation of the summary was recently revealed (source 4). I touch on these additions later on in the cast section.

Seems like a lot of names and a lot of plot, right?

Luckily, P'News (Ohm's manager and the producer of the series) has confirmed that the series will definitely be more than the "standard" 12 episodes (source 5). This bodes well for such a big cast and dense plot as you will soon see.

Cast

Ohm Thitiwat as Kim (left) and Fluke Natouch as Sun (right) Kim Kimhant Kannakool is the son of a rich family with a real estate empire. His family's business ends up taking a dangerous turn resulting in events that eventually lead to an accident that leaves Kim with (seemingly temporary) amnesia. He loves music, plays the cello, and is quite introverted. He has a brother named Rain. Sun Tawan Theekhakorn recently transferred universities and is in the same year as Kim. He was born with a heart condition that 2 of his siblings have also died from in their infancy (could possibly have been other unrelated medical issues that caused their deaths). After consulting a fortune teller, his parents send him to live with his aunt and uncle to raise him and keep him safe and Sun is able to grow and keep his condition under control with treatments and medicine. He is a fighter and very optimistic. Sun plays guitar and wants to join the music club but misses the audition. He is then mentored by Wannasing who helps him join. His best friend is Choon.

Santi is the butler of the Kannakool family. His son, Phayu, is the Kannakool sons' bodygaurd and friend. Kim's friend Baibua has a crush on Phayu.

Rain Kannakool is Kim's older brother. He is the same age as Phayu and plays rugby. Oranee Kannakool and Kacha Kannakool are Kim and Rain's mother and father respectively.

The series will be directed by Ongart Singlumpong who is the executive director of Channel 8 and has directed lakorns such as Romantic Blue as well as the recent Free Fire music video starring PMC x OhmFluke.

Behind-the-scenes/Origins

Oh! My Sunshine Night is a series created and produced by News Seaksit (manager of Ohm Thitiwat) and was made in response to the fan support for a fan meeting trailer entitled "The Secret Mission Will Begin" (source 7). After fans expressed a desire to see Ohm and Fluke star in a show together that had more action, News began the long process of writing and creating a script especially for Ohm and Fluke to star in. This script has been rewritten and revised numerous times and News emphasizes that this is not a project he's taken lightly.

*It is important to note that the series does not appear to follow the espionage theme of the fan meeting trailer but takes elements from it such as the names "Kim" and "Sun" and an amnesia plot. The trailer was also made specifically for a fan meet and does not reflect the quality of the current series.

This is my time to share some things from a fan perspective but P'News has worked extremely hard on this. He is now full-time producing this show and full-time managing for Ohm. He took this script to numerous entertainment companies and decided in the end that he wanted to make sure they had full control of the project. In light of this decision, he formed Newsinfinity Entertainment especially for OMSN.

P'News created this project because he and P'Note (Fluke's manager) really believe in this story and Ohm and Fluke's talent. Much of OMSN was funded out of pocket by the two managers in the beginning and they have since then gotten more funding from other partners for the project. This is nothing unique for the two managers as they both also financed the creation of OhmFluke photobooks out of their own pockets before (it's a running fan joke that they're both constantly going broke because of the stuff they do for Fluke and Ohm lmao). They really care about the success of their actors and I am sure that this passion will shine through in the series.

Fun facts

-Fluke cut his hair short for this series to set himself apart from his recently played characters. He wanted a new look for Sun.

-P'News announced that they would be shooting the series in the forests, in the mountains, in the water, and in the sky (source 8).

-Fluke said that this character was very different from the ones he's played in the past. P'News promised a lot of new/fresh things in this series. There was an emphasis on this series reaching wider audiences while still being both a high-action series and a love story with plenty of romance elements.

-All cast were required to attend multiple workshops regardless of their roles to be better prepared for the series.

-The casting process was documented and you can find many behind-the-scenes moments on the Newsinfinity Entertainment youtube (source 9).
