Twins!!!

So on 7/25/2022 Dilly FINALLY gave birth to the farm's first set of twins. They are very flashy boys just like my last two kids, but somehow Chain is apparently the father and not Gabriel. Couple goats got sneaky on me... hmmm.... Anyway, though she doesnt show it at all, mom is 1/4 nubian. Which is a standard sized milk goat with a roman nose and big floppy ears. The light colored boy has the head and wider partially flopped ears from his nubian ancestry and the smaller darker boy has the smaller muzzle and slightly dished head of a nigerian. He also has his daddy's blue eyes and is polled like his father. If you didnt know they were from the same mom you'd have no idea that they were even related they are so different from eachother. LOL

Mom did a great job for her first labor. Both boys came out in the ideal position one right after another with barely a breath in between them and everyone is healthy and happy. ^.^

Plant progress 01

Tomorrow will mark 2 weeks since I got these babies potted up and started LST (low stress training). I have been tying down more branches and adjusting a few here and there to keep the growing tips on the branches even in height as much as possible and cut a few fan leaves here and there off that were shading out some of the growth nodes. Exposing those nodes to better light and bringing down the growing tips caused the nodes to shoot new branches upwards pretty good and you can see they are growing up to fill in the gaps. The goal here is to create a relatively even canopy of multiple tops. Each of those tops will form buds and since they all have even light exposure, unlike a plant grown in the traditional xmas tree fashion where you get a few big buds at the top and alotta smaller ones the further down the plant you go, all the buds should be nice and big throughout the plant. ^.^

Today I cut the growing tips just above the newest growth nodes of the main stem and the stems coming directly off of it. This will cause the leftover tips to divide into 2 more stems instead of 1 and will also cause alot more growth in the branches further down the stem.

Once the plants have recovered and I see about 2-3 more inches of new growth I'll top every single growing tip on it, causing every branch to form into 2 new branches. Doing this alone wont form a really good even canopy though, this is just the base work leading up to it. Once they recover from the second topping and put on 2-4 more inches of growth I'll start working them into a SCROG net. That will allow me to spread the plant out horizontally and get those tops nice and even.

Another New Arrival!

Daisy finally popped this morning. An absolutely stunning, tiny little girl! Like her brother from last year, Chain, She is absolutely tiny. Her body can fit in my hand. LOL

New Stuffies

Am still waiting for Dilly and Daisy to drop kids. They are still uddering up in preparation, but they are just not popping. LOL

In the meantime the weather has been alot more wet here than usual, which is good cause last summer was way drier than normal, but it makes it hard to get enough done outside. I've been having to find more indoor stuff other than spending hours gaming or binge watching tv shows. LOL So I decided to work more on some indoor gardening. Alotta my houseplants could use repotting and I made the decision this year to start growing my own marijuana supply. For those of you that dont know I use it for my anxiety. I had stopped smoking for a good while, but due to the things going on around me I have had to start again and it just makes more sense to me to grow what I need rather than keep shelling out cash that could go towards other things. Since I dont really smoke a whole lot I wont have to grow a whole lot either, which is nice. Also it gives me the challenge of growing something new that I've never grown before.

To start off with I did my typical thing... Researched everything I could find and joined subject specific groups so I could have other experienced people to talk to and learn from. Since I am only growing a couple plants at a time I want to get the most out of them so I am using a combination of Low Stress Training(LST) and Screen of Green (SCROG). Both techniques are pretty much the same kinda thing I've done with other types of plants so I'm confident I'll do allright. Friend of mine that lives a couple hours from me brought me over a couple clones of the variety Gorilla Glue. Both plants were overdue to be repotted and were quite a bit taller than I would prefer them to be to start LST, but I got them potted up and started with the training. The day after training the ends of the branches I tied down are already starting to turn towards the light. ^.^

I'll continue to train the branches as it grows eventually training them into a SCROG net before sending them into flower.

Pickles - Buckling born 5/15/2022

Almost 3 weeks old now. ^.^ My other 2 girls are getting ready to pop any time now. Cant wait to meet the rest of the new babies!

New Arrival!

There are a couple different things to watch for when a doe is getting ready to kid. About 2 weeks before they start to produce milk. Its typically referred to as uddering up. About a week after that starts you need to start monitoring the tendons at the base of the tail. Normally they should feel firm when pressure is applied to either side of the spine, but if they are soft and kinda squishy feeling it means she's ready to pop any time now.

Well yesterday morning I went out to feed the goats and checked Dalli's tendons, they were soft so I made sure everything was ready to go and started to check on her every hour. Well about 20 or so mins after I checked on her I remembered I needed to get good pics of her udder so I could have it evaluated cause once the kid starts nursing they are gonna be uneven till he turns a couple weeks or so old and I start milking.

Welp I found her standing in the shed with a nose an tongue sticking out her backside... Crap.. I should be looking at feet, not his nose. So I ran in to get some gloves, came back out and his head and neck are dangling there... Fuck.. cant push him back in to grab his feet, just gotta reach in around his neck n find em. Stuck in a couple fingers, immediately found one knee and brought his hoof forward. Felt around for his second knee and in the process of trying to work my fingers around to the outside of it so I could bring the foot forward I freed his knee from the lip of the hole, he'd had both knees pressed on either side preventing him from coming out, he literally burst right out the hole. LOL

Mom and baby are doing great! Dalli's first son and Gabriel's first kid. Came out just gorgeous! He's got his mom's black n light tan coloring, his dad's color pattern and his dad's paint markings, so you cant tell if he carries his mom's belly band. LOL

Introducing my Nigerian Dwarf milk goat herd. Have had my Sr buck since July 2020 and the 2 older girls since Jan 2021, they came pregnant and gave birth to the younger 2 goats in May and June of last year and are due to kid again. Will be selling this years kids and between that, compost and milk sales I'll be able to stock the hay barn really good come fall when the bulk sales start. I'm glad I decided to keep them and work towards building a little dairy. Milk, butter, yogurt and cheese are in big demand and store prices are nuts.

The concert was awesome, the photos I took came out less than awesome. Hearing Maynard's voice in person was one of the most amazing experiences in my life. I even cried a little when he started singing. The show was great, the music unbeatable.

BIRTHDAY FUN!!!

Today is my 42nd Birthday! I'm now the answer to the universe... If you dont get that joke you seriously should not be reading my blog...

Last Saturday I went to an Xmas party thrown by one of the members of my local kink group. The parties we throw are always dressup for a theme and I went as a naughty elf. LOL They surprised me with a cake and sang Happy Birthday to me. I havent had a birthday celebration in 20yrs so it really caught me off guard and I cried. Heres a photo of me and the cake, after I had blown out the penis candles, removed them and sucked the frosting offa them. If you look closely the top is covered with tiny dick candies. LOL

Last night was the montly rope class I attend. I usually call it Human Macramé so as to confuse the vanilla folk. LOL As a birthday gift the class teacher tied me up for my first suspension. Before letting me down she inverted me for a little while so I could experience that sensation as well. I kept giggling the whole time I was hanging there. Couldnt help it. LOL It was totally awesome and I absolutely loved it. I take the classes so as to learn safe tying techniques and before and after care, not because I wanna tie other people up. I actually want to be the person tied up, but I also want to know and make sure that anyone I do rope play with knows wtf they are doing.

So its been a pretty good week for me and I've had a pretty good time. Hope everyone has a great holiday!!

Last weekend of Ren Fair
