I don’t use this blog as often as I used to but as a doll artist and being a friend of one of the artists who dolls were recast this week, I’m going to speak my mind on recent events that has happened

I am not going to defend Culur’s actions as their preorder could’ve been handled better and I’m aware of the drama surrounding it, but regardless of what has happened, she still don’t deserve to have her dolls recast and this is bigger than just Culur herself. Buying recasts of a doll made by someone you don’t like doesn’t just effect that artist, it puts other artists at risk (like Black Cherry Dolls, the other artist who’s dolls were recast this week) and people in the community as this can cause people to scammed from the counterfeits being put into the secondhand market. In other words, this affects everyone.

Bottom line, it doesn’t matter what doll it is, discontinued or readily available, whatever the status of the artist or the drama they have created, any recast that you buy gives recasters the funds to continue their business and buy more dolls to be illegally copied, because if there wasn’t any money in this business, this would’ve ended years ago. That’s why when they acquire another doll that they can make counterfeits of, everyone loses, not just Culur.

And the sooner everyone realizes this, the sooner we can stop this.
