I feel like I used to be great. I used to love, I had passions, I had desires, I had purpose. Lately after the grief and grind of it all I’ve felt moreso like a shell of who I used to be and the shell is full of holes. Idk how much more I can take.
I wrote this song and like 2 days later Kid Rock shot up a few cases of Bud Lite, history repeats itself.
Lyrics:
Life is funny, life is cute
Temporary hot pursuit of
All the things promised by those who weren't entirely honest.
What's he sayin on the news
Convinced your friends to burn their shoes
Your wallet is your voice, but thats the only note you can choose.
Don't let it break, don't let it crack
Your vocals are gone and I want them back
What will it take, to right our mistakes
I think we've been had, I want our lives back
Time is money, I thought you knew. You didn't
Hear it from me but you're going to
We're trading all our days for a scrap of their value, and the buyers they make out like kings
We fight and we struggle and as long as they're able, they buy the rules and cut off our wings behind the scenes
Don't let it break, don't let it crack
Your vocals are gone and I want them back
What will it take, to right our mistakes
I think we've been had, I want our lives back
(brain dead commentary)
I don't think its fate, I don't think I'm mad
Its all just a game, made to lose what we had.
This can't be sustained, congrats on the bag
But when that thing breaks, we'll take whats ours back
In the near future people will be blaming women, abortion, soft men, and the LGBTQ+ community for societal collapse due to underpopulation when the clear answer is that its now financially irresponsible for most Americans to procreate due to stagnation of wages since the 1970s in combination with the never ending rise of the cost of living. You'll still have billionaires and corporations paying media heads, more right wing than left, to say otherwise because those on top need a steady flow workers each generation to keep up the machine that grows their own wealth.
