yah know that'd be interesting. I could see that being fun. I have NO IDEA how that'd go but we love to see it

A small smile curls around the edge of Shere's mouth and he huffs before adjusting and shoving a hand into his pocket for his wallet.
"I'll take two," he says, pulling out a fiver. "Figure one of the other professors might want one, eh? What are you funding for?"

Shere blinks.
Where had he come from?
Still the Vaagh shifts to face the younger man, tucking the manilla envelope beneath his arm, cane in hand. "How much are they?"

Shere could tell the man didn't understand, and he knew why. Mobility aid dogs weren't nearly as common, or so people who didnt meed them must have believed. But no one ever thought about what happens when his leg gives out or he can't flex the hip rotator or if, suddenly, he loses all feeling in his leg because it's gone numb.
So, Saint was quite a very big help, really.
"Ah, well. It isn't that we repell them," Shere says, mulling over the comment. "But many, like cats and dogs and the like, can be afraid of us because they know we're, well, what we are. It's common, from what I understand, for Shifters."
For himself, Shere had never thought about it really. It was just something he knew, and had known, since he was a boy.
Still, Shere smiles at Darius and nods his head because he would be more than happy to. He says as much, too, before saying, "What, if anything else, were you looking for information on? I've plenty of resources and time to go over a few things with you, if you'd like?"

"No, no you can't," Shere says, shaking his head. "Not do that, plan a wedding, run the bloody Rock Shoppe and keep yourself sane." Well, one of those may not be inevitable. He and Ren might elope, who knew.
"Martin - you are still in academia as a post doctorate or a professor. And you'll not be taking anything from me. I'd be rather honored to have you as an colleague, and not just a student."

@bones-weary
The day might have gone differently if he'd not hurt himself, he suspects. He may have never even met the man he'd seen in his dream, or done so late enough that he barely recalled a face, let alone what it was they'd gotten up to in the dream.
But Swynlake was never that kind to him, never gave him the ability to forget quickly, and one minute he is struggling with crutches and a small bag of rice and the next there's a man with a familiar face and a familiar scent that he's never met in his bloody life standing there.
The Tiger, just like the man, is confused and, for a moment Shere just freezes, muscles coiling beneath skin like he's ready to run.
His brain catches up a moment later and tells him that's a very stupid idea, particularly because he only had two legs now, one of which was lamed, and his fucked up back. No, he wouldn't be running anywhere.
Grinning a bit ruefully, Shere shrugs a shoulder as carefully as he could, noting the other man's basket before flicking his gaze back to Bones' face. What did it matter if he told this man what really happened? Those who knew him knew anyway. "Tripped over the bloody cat my daughter didn't take with her when she moved out. Swynlake's own irony, I suppose."

@bones-weary
Another dream had come and gone. This time, when Shere had been involved, he didn't quite know how to feel when he awoke. It wasn't that he necessarily...believed the things that transpired, as he knew he'd not treat a spouse as he had in the dream, but meeting both a man and a young woman he'd never before encountered was odd.
And, to top it all off, Shere'd gone and landed himself in the hospital, with crutches, very quickly upon waking. Bloody cats.
Juggling groceries with a cane was simple these days, used to the motion and the added appendage.
But the second, we'll, that was much harder.
As Shere discovers when he attempts to juggle one crutch, shove another under his arm, stay off the leg he'd tweaked without pulling his back muscles worse, and not dropping the item he was trying to put back.
It was, as one could imagine, not going well.

Despite himself, Shere shakes his head and rolls his eyes with a snort. "Mm, well. Let's not get that carried away, eh," he jokes back. Really, though, if anyone could take the position over once he was gone, it would be Martin.
( Shere had believed it would be Gregory, once, but Greg was...unattainable now. He didn't know how to reach him any longer. Sometimes, he wondered if Greg wanted to be helped at all ).
"The goal at the end of the day," he continues, eyeing the other man, "is to have less on your plate, Mr. Ambrosius, not more. You're still involved in academia. You are simply teaching it. And as a lecturer you must publish, anyway. It's similar, though not the same."

Shere knows the man heard him, but he also knows Martin's abilities to dodge questions and the movement away from being a student and perpetual PhD candidate. It had been plaguing him for months now. He wasn't attempting to hurt, to criticize in a negative way, but the man needed to strive for more because he could be more.
He had known that for a long time.
The Vaagh shakes his head. "You wouldn't have to write your own lessons. I've plenty of plans you could utilize and tweak to your needs. There are students already asking me when they can take a class with you, Martin. People think you're brilliant, even if you don't."

Shere did not often vocalize as the tiger while wearing his, for lack of better wording, human skin. It wasn't becoming, and it was one of the few skills he'd taught himself out of early on as an angry, little boy - as hard as it was.
However, it had been warranted now, so the Vaagh didn't feel badly about it.
Instead, he focused back on Luca, praising them when they got the tree the second go. Then, he continues, showing them how to shade and how to make certain pieces darker, passing the time like the sun did, slowly but with a purpose.
When they were done, Luca had a tree and Shere was more relaxed than he'd felt in a while.
