Ohh loaded question orz. I used to think so yes but now it's... it's difficult.

You see just this year I was doing like 17th and 18th century philosophy for uni and I came across this principle called the Principle of Sufficient Reason. The Principle of Sufficient Reason (PSR) states that there is a sufficient reason for every possibility and actuality, or in essence everything has a sufficient reason.

But what counts as a sufficient reason? Is there really a sufficient reason for my table being this long and not longer/shorter? I'm not sure. Is there a sufficient reason for the fact that something doesn't exist? A philosopher did propose a theory about contradictions and if something contains a contradiction in itself it won't exist eg. a square circle. If there are things that don't seem to have a sufficient reason but want to accept PSR maybe we have to accept alternative universes where that possibility (eg. my desk being 1cm longer than it is) does happen? (of course this is me as a philosophy undergrad talking so, probably not completely accurate, so don't take it too seriously)

But philosophically aside, I think there's something nice about there not being a reason for everything. And honestly it would be difficult to explain or justify things that are happening in the world through reason, like atrocities and violence. And also there's something poetic about how we just meet people we are close with to today by chance. Like who knew we were only one follow/conversation/text message away from being friends? I think it makes things seem all the more special
