The triplets kept growing and getting busier and busier. Heather and Jenny enjoyed their new age - they were toilet trained, they walked and talked, and they could play. All of a sudden Heather and Jenny were really only needed to supervise them, because they could entertain themselves whereever they went.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So they decided it was time for the kids to start preschool, to meet other children and find new outlets for their energy. Jenny was finally able to return to her career, and Heather finally had time to cook again for pleasure outside of work - in fact, she decided the time was right to bring back her beloved food stall. This time, she set up in the midde of Copperdale, and as word went around she gained a following of regulars. Her homemade pastries and desserts were a crowd favourite.

Will you be doing a new legacy after this one has finished?
I sort of hinted that I have plans for my next project after the Langston Legacy is finished. It would be different to how I have done this Legacy, more story based and in a historical context that is close to my heart. I love historical gameplay, it's really the only thing I enjoy doing in the sims, so a Decades Legacy is the only format for me.
In saying that, I'm still gauging how much interest there would be for me to post a new Legacy here... I feel like simblr has really quietened down over the last year or so.

Heather and Jenny tried to spend more time with Dustin and his family as their children grew up. The triplets loved their cousins - Cody, the twins Kayla and Kyle, and their new baby sister Cassie. Going trick or treating with the big cousins for the first time that Halloween was exciting for the three little ones.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Heather, Dustin and Jenny escorted their joined brood through the streets of the San Sequoia neighbourhoods they had grown up in and knew well, reflecting on how the years had gone by so quickly since they themselves had been kids celebrating Halloween.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Their processing eventually passed their old childhood home - sold after April had died, to a new family. There were Halloween decorations out the front, which told them someone lived there now and was enjoying the spirit of the occasion. Heather and Dustin hugged eachother and smiled at the old house as they went by, reflecting on their own happy childhood together in there - happy, despite the things that had been hutful and hard. The kind of happy childhoods they hoped to give their own children.

How far do you plan to run with this legacy? As a 2000’s baby myself I’d really like to see that decade play out 👀
My plan (at this stage) is that the 1990s will be my last heir, who will lead us into the 2000s. I will make my way through the 2000s until the heir has created their own life and their family, and end things at the end of the 2000s 💖
Good news: I will dabble in the glory of y2k and reliving my own childhood and teen traumas.
Bad(?) news (I don't think its bad but others might feel differently): I won't be doing the 2010s or the 2020s. Recent history just feels too recent for me to want to play with - in my mind 2016 was last year. I am temporally borked thanks to the pandemic and keep forgetting how old I am. I prefer historical gameplay to modern gameplay, and I don't have any drive to tell stories in the modern era.

why are the triplets prescott-jones not prescott-lewnoski
Becaaauuuuse I decided that Heather is the kind of person who wants to change her surname to her mother's surname - Jones - because she identifies with this more than Lenowski. April changed her name back to Jones after she and River divorced, and Heather was always closest with her mother. Because April died just before the trips were born and Heather was grieving, she wanted them to have the surname Jones. And one day, when she and Jenny are able to get married, they will change their surnames to match their children.

A cute fun fact - the Care Bears that the triplets sleep with were Heather’s toys from her own childhood 🥹

The triplets eventually grew up into toddlers. Gone were the challenging days of infanthood, but parenthood got a whole lot busier in a different way for Heather and Jenny as their children became their own independent little people.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jasmine continued to be their sensitve girl, with a loving nature and a curious mind. She loved to read fairytales, to be held by her Moms, and hated being alone - always tagging along with one sibling or the other.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ginger was a busy child, always pushing boundaries with what she could do. She was little miss independent, always off on her own adventure, fearless in the face of obstacles which she would always try to overcome.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Quincy was still their wild, adventurous boy - always getting up to no good and exploring things he shouldn't. He never stopped moving from the moment he woke up, but his easygoing attitude made it hard to discipline him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The triplets kept everyone on their toes, and every evening was a march to the finish line of bedtime. But Heather and Jenny finally found themselves having time to be with one another and enjoy eachothers company outside of parenthood - to eat a home made meal, to watch tv alone, to share stories of their children and laugh the end of the day.

Things got easier for Jenny and Heather with time. The triplets grew bigger and stronger and soon they were eating, playing and causing chaos. But the chaos was good - it was entertaining and fun, watching them each develop into their own little people.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Quincy was their calm child. He was an easygoing baby, who loved his food and slept like an angel. But he was also the most active and adventurous - pulling to stand long before his sisters, ready to start walking right away and keeping them all on their toes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ginger was their sunny child. She was always happy, smiling and giggling and loved to listen and dance to music. A relaxed child, was content to get carried everywhere, unlike her brother. She clicked most intuitively with Heather.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jasmine, on the other hand, was their sensitive child. She loved to be held, especially to sleep, and was more wary than her siblings. And though she and Ginger were identical, they were polar opposites. She was closest with Jenny, who doted on her sweet little girl.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Altogether, life was beautiful with the triplets, and Heather and Jenny could not have been more happy with the little family they had created.

A specific sim you had that isn’t really related to the main family but always made me curious is delilah because she’s the daughter of emmanuel with his wife and i sometimes wonder if she had kids or if there are any relatives of her alive!!
Tumblr media
This is Deliah Eve Dreyfus, the daughter of Emmanuel and his wife Abigail. She and Stella were half-sisters, but neither of them ever knew this. Delilah was an only child, she grew up and married Lawrence Devlin (yes, another Devlin...) and they had three children named Genevieve, Allen and Marcia! Fun fact, Marcia's descendants are married to Ziggy and Travis Price.
(I don't know why Stella is in a hot dog costume in her pic sdfdkfkl.)

I wonder too are Jenny and Heather related like Dustin and Kelly?
Tumblr media
So yes, Jenny and Heather are technically related, but very distantly.
Jenny is a descendant of Bernard Brown, one of the 1930s kids. Bernie had one son, Harold (Harry) Brown, with his wife Audrey - but he never got to meet his son, as Bernie was killed in action in WW2.
Harry married a nice girl named Doris and they had 3 kids. One of those kids, Jillian, is the grandmother of Jenny on her fathers side.
So this makes Jenny and Heather fourth cousins once removed.
Other fun facts - Jenny is descended from the in-game family that came with High School living (Molly Prescott is her mother). Jenny is also descended on her paternal side from the original Langston family through the line descending from Frank Langston. She is also descended from the Harringtons via Walter Harrington's son.
This save is worse than the European monarchies.

Will we see more of your other decades challenge family when this legacy ends? Or do you think you will take a big break and be inactive for a while and maybe not post about it?
Yessssss... so this is something I have been musing away on for some time now. The other family I shared on here (the Flemings) were my first foray into starting a new Decades Challenge, but ultimately fizzled out. I don't think I have it in me to do another Decades Challenge in the same style as the Langstons with one generation per decade.
I have a plan for a different Decades Challenge in the works in the background... I've been quietly enjoying creating the foundations for this as a side project. It would be a different style and pace to the Langstons. I really look forward to sharing it here in the future!

Hello₍ᐢ. .ᐢ₎, I really like the braces that Heather wore as a teenager. But I can’t download it because the creator’s site is not found (˶╥︿╥). Can you help me share the file? I will be very grateful.
This is the cc “headgear braces acc (orthodontic headgear)”
You're absolutely right and I'm so sorry that the creator has taken down their content! The original post I could find for the headgear is here but I can see the link no longer works.
I'm not sure if I can share this file because it might be violating someone else's terms. Putting this out to the community in case anyone else knows where to find this ✨

devlin surviving longer than langston feels so sinister considering what happened to sybil 😭 didn’t one of his ancestors impregnate pearl too?
The Devlin's are a weed in this Decades Challenge. There are so, so many of them and they keep popping up. The fault is mostly because of Helen Arnold and Albert Devlin...
Tumblr media
Helen Arnold was a descendant of the Langston family. She was Agnes Scott (nee Langston)'s grandchild. Agnes married Albert Devlin who was...
Tumblr media
The nephew of Leon Devlin (father of Primrose and Marigold). Leon had a brother named Timothy, who had three children of his own including Albert. Albert Devlin had 6 children - one out of wedlock, and 5 with his wife Helen. His siblings also had many children.
What you can't see is how many descendants have flowed on from this branch of the tree - especially because there were so many sons, so the name Devlin kept on carrying.
Tumblr media
David Devlin was the great-grandchild of Helen and Albert. He was Pearl Dreyfus's boyfriend and he left her when she fell pregnant with their son Buddy. David went on to marry after this and had 5 sons. Only one of them produced a descendant, and all of them died of accidental causes in their youth.
Buddy's only son, Sam, married another Devlin 🤦🏼‍♀️
Nevertheless, there are still so many Devlin's hanging out as a result of their prolofic breeding. I can't keep track of them anymore.
I hope you enjoyed this essay on Langston Legacy lore.
