#perlesjournal First stop @marketatpepperplace this morning. The only thing I really needed was honey. And I only buy it in glass jars. Wallace Homestead (veteran owned) filled the bill. Although he had the ubiquitous plastic, he had glass. Visited awhile at the community table on @richardtubbinteriors porch.But on my way out I spotted the It’s Tamale Time tent. And a tamale is one of my favorite breakfasts, so took one to go. And then there were the eggs all gorgeously pastel colored at the Stone Hollow Flower Farm Flowers. Had to have them. And then there were baby goats,so had to go for the ‘awww’ shot. Headed home around 9 w a brief stop at @publix midtown for a few essentials. And not so Essentials - Majool dates. #perlesjournal New shoes. Had to put them on immediately for my trip downtown. Same as I did as a kid when new shoes made you run faster, jump higher... I discovered Ecco Sandals in 2004 prepping for a 4 day 3 night all expenses paid trip to NYC for 2. As I had just told my SO where to go and how to get there, I took my sister. Best choice ever. We had a blast. First class air and room at the Ritz Central Park. Anyway. The sandals were, still are amazing. I’d forgotten about them. But last year I scored a pair at Von Maur (the blue pink sporty ones). They walk amazing, with great sneaker-like tread and arch support. And. As I’m back to my morning walkabout, and so many summer outdoor events coming up, I went searching for more. And voila @amazon provides. Got a gorgeous red pair. And looking further I found black on sale for $74. The red were $110. And. As every time I find a favorite shoe, it is eventually discontinued, I’m going to buy 2 maybe 3 more of each red and black and store them for futures. #perlesbham Enjoying this perfect weather at the Taste of Homewood in SoHo Square since a little before 5. Some of the samples would qualify as a hearty appetizer. Also sampled several local beers. And a few wines. Now sitting ringside with a generous beer pour of Muchacha Beer, sipping and people watching. I swear I’d never be able to get away with anything. Didn’t even need to flash my ticket to the chorus of “Hi Perle” that greeted me at the ticket table. Chatted a bit with my @homewoodpublic Library ladies. They had a table too. I’m a bit overstuffed,but not miserably. But. One more beer and one more mingle, and I’ll be heading home. Gotta a good book and my own beer waiting for me there. #perlesaerie One moment it's 11:45 p.m. on a Saturday night, and in the next, it is 12:45 a.m. Sunday morning. I moved my watch & stove clock forward, so I won't forget later at bed time and oversleep on the morrow. My iPhone and computer manage on their own. Strange thing, time. There are days that pass in the time it takes for an ordinary three, and others pass in the seeming blink of an eye. But, as we have only the clock to tell the time by, there’s no real way to prove how interminably longer one day is from the other. #perlesaerie It’s 8:30 at night and I hear someone run up the stairs and quickly run back down, the front door closes noisily and the screen door slams before I can open my apartment door. I really feel for Amazon delivery folks. Also grateful that they climb all my stairs and deliver to my door. Counting the 22 steps up the the building front door, the two flights up that’s 42.
