You pierce my soul. I am half agony, half hope. Tell me not that I am too late, that such precious feelings are gone for ever... I have loved none but you.

The creek drank the cradle you sang to
It took a long ride for Jon to clear his head after leaving Miss Stone. A few things were impressed upon him: Miss Stone’s courage was remarkable. And somewhere in the world there was a man Jon would like very much to kill.
Or: Sansa becomes a teacher in the Appalachian mountains, and develops something like a friendship–maybe more– with Doctor Jon Snow.

Cue the Marseillaise . . .
Tumblr media
Today is a very important day for women in France: the Parliament is gathering this afternoon in the palace of Versailles to vote on enshrining abortion into our Constitution. This would make it extremely difficult for abortion rights to be threatened by a change in governing party, as the Constitution is the central legal text our republic is based on.
The Parliament gathering is scheduled to start at 3.30pm CET with results expected at 6.30 CET. I'll be reblogging this post with updates throughout the day.
Should the vote pass (🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞) this would make France the first country in the world to explicitly protect abortion rights in their Constitution

Hello! So, I’ve been enjoying watching reaction videos lately to unwind and I just watched one for Three Men and a Baby (a movie I haven’t seen in ages) and I had to jump into your inbox to tell you all I could think of was your fic and Jon as Peter the architect and how much I loved it. Time for a reread 😍 Anyway, thanks for writing it and hope you’re having a great day!
This message made made day! Thank you so much.

sad reality of the fanfic-to-published work economy is that the weirdest people are willing to do it. that's why there's now hundreds of shitty no plot cishet hate-to-love enemies-to-lovers books that are ex reylo fanfic. and it's not even good. that's because the people who wrote book-quality steve/bucky and kirk/spock fic are too normal to think to themselves "i should get this porn published". they're too busy working in local government offices

Watching WW, I realised just how boring an idea people have for Jon/Dany as a romance because they’re so insistent that Dany is a hero and Jon is just a devoted fool. If it really was a romance, accidental incest, a magical baby and side by side deaths could not be its “tragic” ending. If it had to be interesting it would be like Dolores/Teddy from WW. A woman who is acting as a revolutionary in a very extreme way and a lover who is starting to question her, and she destroys him a bit more and more along the way to keep him with her, until it results in them turning against each other and marking the end with their deaths. These violent delights have violent ends. It’s a twist on Romeo and Juliet. If it had to be interesting it’d be dysfunctional and codependent…like Jaime/Cersei.
What people have made up in their heads of a fantasy power couple of “a boy meets girl and they save the world”; the assumption that their personalities are different and goals being incompatible having no effect just completely deflates the possibility of it being interesting. But also, fact of the matter is Jon has spent most of his story without Dany, has stronger bonds with other people, is judgmental of cult figures, has forsaken love for the protection of his people and isn’t an idiot (but he can act it when the situation demands it as Ned did). And we already did get dysfunctional and codependent Jaime/Cersei, which the narrative heavily criticises and we don’t need another. This could never be their story. However, the possibility still exists that they will still end up on opposite ends because Dany will end up the antagonist and a tragic family story (as she is the closest tie to his bio dad) rather than a “romance”.
People just aren’t creative enough. Only when you mix other genres like Classical literature (epics) and sci-fi with medieval fantasy and really reflect on history do you really push the boundaries of imagination. The minute you assume heroes won’t go against each other you start assuming good is more or less one shade when that’s not true. The road to hell is paved with good intentions and even in the French Revolution there were factions of extremists and moderates. Just because you have the threat of ice zombies from one side it doesn’t diffuse the nuclear fire problem. It just makes something that should’ve been the solution into yet another problem.
But people want for Dany to be a hero so badly when she embodies the other extreme of the Others with her three nuclear WMD that she calls her children because she’s sympathetic in her POV that they can’t see she’s a tragic character doomed to fall. There’s not many female tragic heroes. This only makes her more interesting if seen this way. Heroes can become villains without wanting to be evil. That’s how the real world works and that is the scariest part. But the audience has just closed their minds to the possibility of a better story because of these assumptions. It’s rather sad because the story most people have in mind is stale and has to manipulate so much characterisation to actually not set off conflict.
I’m critical of people with absolute power despite their supposed intentions and want a better story. Somehow that just makes me delusional and misogynistic. My bad.
