I'd also like to add that unless you make your bookmarks private, creators on ao3 can also see the comments you add on there. So, if you don't want to show up on certain fics then that's a good way to do it. (However, people can still see your bookmarks if they bother to go to your account and look through them, but they'll be less accessible.)
Commenting on a fic is kind of like adding your thoughts in a reblog on tumblr.
Some people do it without a second thought.
Some people only do it on their friends' posts.
Some people really want to, but they're worried about saying the wrong thing or that the OP won't want/like what they have to say.
I actively encourage, request, and reinforce my love of reblog commentary and it's still a tiny fraction of the reaction I get to any particular post.
This is why I think finding community somehow is better than trying to get that feeling from comments. It's easier to talk to people you feel like you know.

im sorry but is someone's literal pronouns 'gore' wtf
Those are the primary pronouns the person has listed, but has said multiple pronouns are fine.
I'm not really looking to make fun of anyone or discuss pronoun discourse on here, though, so please refrain from asking about it.
I also don't like involving minors in negativity like that and that person is a minor as far as I'm aware.

It's funny to me that the only time you see the 'tHaTs IlLeGaL" argument against fiction is for pedophilia and incest. People only ever accuse you of breaking the law for writing those two topics. (Abuse too)
Prostitution is illegal, yet I used to see those AUs all the time. Mafia/mobs are illegal, yet another insanely popular trope. Theft, assault, murder, drug use. All illegal, all popular in fics.
Which really just proves to me that you don't actually think it's bad to write about "illegal" and "harmful" topics, you just feel uncomfortable about certain things and therefore, don't think it should exist.
I think a big part of this is abuse, incest, and pedophilia has affected more people negatively than things such as the mafia have. For most people, things like the mob won't affect them on a direct level. Which is unbelievably selfish and narcissistic to think the only things that should be banned are things that you personally don't enjoy.

Do I want to make a Will/James fic based off of the lyric "swore she'd never kiss a Tory, but this boy was too good to lose"?
Yes. Absolutely. 100%.
Should I show some restraint because I already have 45+ fic requests?
Obviously. Without a doubt.
Am I going to show that restraint?

Where the hell did this whole anti-shipping thing start anyways?
Honestly, I have no idea where it started. It was either on here somewhere, or on Twitter...though that's only a guess on my part.
Either way, I personally think that it's stupid that antis are really out here thinking that they can police people online like this. If someone wants to ship something in fiction, they're absolutely allowed to.

Toxic positivity is especially such a big problem in mental health disabilities. Like no! It's not "totally fine" that I spent over a hundred dollars on junk this week because I was having an episode! No, it's not "no big deal!" that I failed more than half my classes because I was having an episode!
Ignoring the struggles our disabilities cause is not helping anyone.
And it's so unbelievably patronizing when people act like we won't struggle more than able-bodied, neurotypical people. Especially when they've been told time and time again by disabled people that they're harming the community and yet they don't care. And OP is absolutely, completely, 1000% correct: it is because facing our disabilities makes them uncomfortable.
I just saw “diffabled” being used in place of the word disabled, and I may actually riot.
