Some people in my parents' neighborhood have started doing this thing called "no-mow May" where they let their lawns grow throughout the month and by the end of the month they always look so beautiful and textured, there's all kinds of little flowers and clovers and dandelions and shit, there's visibly more bugs and birds around their house, it makes walking around the neighborhood an actually rewarding experience. But now that May's almost over a lot of people have mowed their shit back to seas of turf grass monoculture. makes me want to scream
