nothing is worse than software that tells people when I’m online or when I read their message or when I’m typing something. I always want to be as unknowable in my silence as god

Anakin and Obi-Wan would never fight each other. They couldn’t. They’re a team. They’re the team. And both of them are sure they always will be.

thank you @figuringthengsout for tagging me 🥺
End of the year reading survey
How many books did you read? Did you meet your goal?  storygraph tells me i read 22 books, which is much more thank i thought. but my goal was 36 so i didnt even come close lmao
Most read genre?  once again looking at the stats it’s ya followed by fantasy and contemporary!!
Longest and shortest books you read.  Longest: The Wise Man’s Fear by Patrick Rothfuss (993 pages).  Shortest: Teaching My Mother How to Give Birth by Warshan Shire (38 pages)
Favorite book published in 2021?  A swedish book called Himlabrand by Moa Backe Åstot. It’s the only book i read in a single sitting this year, and if it’s ever translated i recommend it to anyone!!
Favorite debut book in 2021?  I’ll go with Himlabrand here too ♥
Favorite book not published this year?  Interview with the Vampire by Anne Rice. I haven’t read or seen anything by her before and i absolutely devoured this book.
A book that lived up to the hype.  Again, Interview with the Vampire. It was my only 5 star read this year.
A book that did NOT live up to the hype.  I’ll have to say One Last Stop by Casey McQuiston 😖😖
Book that felt like the biggest accomplishment.  The Wise Man’s Fear, just because the sheer number of pages it is. And also because I started disliking it around the middle but still finished it.
Favorite character.  Favourite character to read about was Louis de Pont du Lac, but I do feel the need to caveat this by saying that he’s an awful person.
Least favorite character. The One Last Stop cast :(
Most shocking book/moment.  I don’t want to post a spoiler haha, but the thing I reacted the strongest to was a paragraph near the end of The Vampire Lestat by Anne Rice.
Favorite couple/OTP. Since I technically did read half of King of Scars by Leigh Bardugo this year, I am allowed to put Mal and Alina here <3
The best written book you read this year. Maybe All Quiet on the Western Front? Bc of the way it’s so straight to the point and disillusioned while still painting such an emotional picture of the horrors of ww1.
Book that you pushed the most people to read in 2021. The Shadow and Bone books and Six of Crows, thanks to the Netflix show getting people excited about it.
Favorite book cover of the year.  Since I mostly read ebooks I don’t pay much attention to the covers. But the one that comes to mind is King of Scars.
Favorite book adaptation. The only adaption I’ve seen of a book I read this year was the Interview with the Vampire film, and that was awful ;; so I’ll go with Shadow and Bone on Netflix since I saw that this year, even if I read the books last year.
What book made you cry the most?  History Is All You Left Me by Adam Silvera lmao
What book made you laugh the most?  It didn’t make me laugh, but the most lighthearted one was probably Get a Life, Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert.
A new favorite author you discovered this year. I wouldn’t say I discovered any new favourites this year.
Favorite book you re-read this year. I didn’t finish my reread of The Secret History by Donna Tartt, but that was the only reread I did this year.
What is the best non-fiction book you read this year?  Tills Alla Dör by Diamant Salihu. Once again it’s only available in swedish, but it’s a journalistic book about the escalating gang violence in sweden. It’s a heavy topic but I’d recommend this book to anyone who’s interested in understanding beyond just reading the news headlines. If you read books I’m tagging youuu
