Here's an idea I just got for a Dead Plate AU that won't leave me.
Groundhog Week for Rody. He suffers through the different endings multiple times and does some..convoluted things to find a way to break the cycle. He would even attempt to woo Vince with dwindling options and little sanity left (for all you Vince/Rody fans--including me).
Imagine, out of everything else he does, it is THAT which works. Now what would he do afterward?

One of my least favourite dialogue tropes is when a man tells a woman, “You can’t do that” or “I wouldn’t do that if I were you” and she says, “Why? Because I’m a woman and therefore too weak to handle this/can’t take care of myself?” or something to that effect and the guy replies with, “No, because everyone who tried that ended up with a bullet in their brain” or something equally reasonable and not gender-specific that paints him as the rational not sexist guy and the woman as an irrational paranoid feminist who searches for sexism in everything. This whole scenario is built on the idea that sexism is over and women’s fears and suspicions don’t have a leg to stand on. It’s also self-congratulatory pseudofeminism bc it’s supposed to make the viewer/reader/listener feel that in this specific work of fiction women are treated respectfully and as equal with men.

Brave Bang Bravern is such a weird anime design wise; they have three different shows happening at once.
Serious military mech show with characters who have more realistic proportions. The women look at lot more like adult women, and the mechs are basically battle suits for the soldiers to operate.
Moe blobs that feel left leftovers from studio's girls that are also horses show. They belong in some cute girls doing cute things anime. Wild seeing them next to other characters who are also adults but proportioned differently.
Super robot show pulling in all the robotfuckers and Transformers fans (me included). Very gay, very flashy. We got superb nails on one.
It was so jarring in the first episode that I was going wtf the entire time lol

While initially presenting itself as a light-hearted romp showcasing the absurdities of the super robot genre, Bravern fairly quickly shifts its focus away from parody (save for as a recurring bit) and instead seeks to answer the question of— why do these kinds of stories exist? Why, in such bleak times as this, with tangible, real-world problems to deal with, do we take the time to entertain the notion that such things as courage, love, and hope can magically save the day?
It’s because we need those things to stay alive. Too loosely paraphrase Terry Pratchett’s words in Hogfather, fantasy is what keeps us human. It’s fitting, then, that the antagonists of the series embody the desire for death. The only way to defeat the human tendency towards self-destruction is not only to have courage, but to believe that courage will be enough carry you through— and in doing so, giving it the power to do just that.
tl;dr
