also this is just the kind of content i wanted from louis. something that is so focused on his drive, his passion, his creativity, how hardworking he is! and that represents his kindness through the purpose of this yearly festival being to help smaller artists be introduced to so many new potential fans through his own reach! it’s the kind of representative content of who louis is that i’ve been craving.

what’s one of your favorite traits of louis’ celebrity wise?

i believe just in his ability to…. not come across as a celebrity you know? he doesn’t feel unreachable or unattainable. if i met him on the street, i don’t think i would get the same sense of anxiety that comes with meeting a celebrity. he’s super personable and knows how to make anyone in a room more comfortable if needed. not to be lame, but he has this “safety net” feel about him. like…. if i was drunk at a party and had no one to take me home and Louis was my friend, i think calling him would be a no brainer. he’d pick me up and make sure i got home safe (he might tease me the entire time but!). i just believe his celebrity persona would be the same in that car as it is in front of a camera, and that’s something that i find hard to identify with many other celebrities.

it’s the way that i sometimes i forget he is even a celebrity in certain interactions or stories fans tell when they meet him. he just comes across so….. normal, and that isn’t as easy as it seems when you are at the platform he is. but he does it so seamlessly

Ok but the fact Louis said he’s been working on the idea of The Away From Home Festival for “the past 12 months at least” means he’s been working bts on this since July 2020, if not earlier (likely earlier). 

That means he already had this idea/was working on it when he announced he left Syco last year. And when 1D’s 10 years anniversary happened. 

The whole time he was MIA he was working on all of this - this festival, his plans to go independent, his 2nd album, his partnership with BMG, his December 2020 Livestream, rescheduling his world tour, his documentary with Charlie Lightening, his own management company, and probably other projects we haven’t heard about yet.

I love to see him moving forward and succeeding. So proud of him. He’s meant to keep shining bright and to keep conquering the music world while changing it for the better.

wanting to give back to the music scene by trying to get together and create a FREE fest that happens yearly to help give platforms to small artists and promote the opportunity for anyone to win tickets instead of gatekeeping them only for those who can afford them is truly something i believe has been a dream/goal of louis’ for so long. the motivation to support small artists and nurture the ability for anyone to experience live music regardless of your bank account is written in Louis’ DNA. he’s just. such a good. such a good. and i’m glad he has the leverage he does to be able to curate these things to happen for everyone involved. i’m so, so happy for him.

free tickets + filming the event means that if the COVID situation gets worse by August 30 and the festival has be cancelled: 1) there will be no hassle for ticket reimbursement 2) the show could still be filmed without a audience so we could get new content. I think it's pretty safe to say this has been well thought out by Louis and his team.
