Bringin' Home the Rain by Trashocalypse - Really digged Roadie’s backstory here.

Crooked Teeth by Cap_Chameleon - Demon!Rat and Priest!Hoggy AU that really got under my skin, loved the build-up.

Google Maps Australia by Cauilflower, youjokebut - “Modern!AU”? They’re not junkers in this one ! I reeeeaaaally loved that fic. The author has such a fantastic way to describe inner thoughts, this fic left me reeling for days, it was amazing.

Gaining Experience by ArmsShanks - Also Modern!AU, they get to know each other over an online RPG game, very relatable and sweet.

Fall by Neroro - The build-up was so nice and the ending just hit me right in the stomach.

junkrat might have develop some sorta separation anxiety when he slowly attaches himself to roadhog from the day he hired him to be his bodyguard

FIRST OF, i’mma say this again and again but junkrat most likely doesn’t have a childhood bein that his life basically started after the explosion in the outback, and raised in junkertown (not sure if he’s even raised i don’t think even his parents were there with him) and  he strived alone to survive in junkertown for all his life, basically no one would likely to have accompany him along his way and therefore, he doesn’t really have close ties with anyone, and junkertown bein the place that it is, full of scavengers and people doesn’t seem to really care about each other, survivin is the most top priority here 

so bein alone and strivin for the rest of his 25 years of livin with no one by his side, him hirin roadhog and bein close to him seemed fairly new to junkrat, and oddly comfortin, as he never had someone beside him this close. so the idea of him bein separated from roadhog really can damage his mental state and makes him panic when that happens, possible mental breakdowns also can occur, so he needs to be with roadhog basically all the time, in his sight

OTP Headcanon: Reading

Roadhog loves to read, especially big long books that he can binge read for two or three hours on cooler winter days. His favourites are fantasy novels with steampunk elements. He picked it up from watching his dad when he was younger.

Before he met Junkrat, he could read for ages but now he would start reading only to be interrupted because Rat got bored quickly and wanted attention. This annoyed him. Eventually, he would either scare Rat off or Rat would leave after being ignored.

Slowly, Hog noticed that some of his shorter length books were moved from the book shelf and missing. He found them after a while in Jamie's room. Jamie had started reading them to see why Hog enjoyed it but struggled to understand it.

Junkrat asked Hog to read to him which he refused but eventually Roadhog gave in after several hours of pestering. He got a book, sat down and began to read. The more Mako read, the more Jamie would light up excited. It made Mako feel all soft.

Story time became a soft moment for them especially when Jamie had pain flare ups and it made them grow closer together.

Junkrat: he is but his heritage an fam are from New Zealand. Australia and nz like to poke fun at each other a lot but we’re very protective of one another. Heck during our last bushfire crisis they were the first ones on deck to send help!

Cole: ohhh I see, so the complete opposite of us with Canada then heh.

Junkrat: only if you avoid bringing up who invented the pavlova-

OTP Headcanon: Bonfire Dinners

One of the Junkers favourite dates are bonfire dinners. They gather as much food as they can find, wait until night fall and start a nice fire. Sitting under the stars, they eat grilled lizards, beans and fried vulture eggs with some barbecued beetles for Jamie. Occasionally, they have canned fruit to enjoy together.

They sit for hours by the warm heat of the fire, bathed in orange light, watching the stars. Sweet whispers and quiet "i love you's" are shared as they cuddle and nuzzle into each other. Nearly falling asleep before Hog eventually carries Jamie to bed with the fire dimming behind them.

OTP Headcanon: Junkrat's Body

Roadhog loves his little rat. The fluffy blonde hair that smells a bit like caramel and Hog loves to ruffle and rub. His bright orange eyes that light up at the sight of explosions and that dull when he's sleepy. His sharp jawline and cheeks that fits nicely in Mako's hand.

He loves Rat's body. The slight curves of his abs and chest underneath the layer of explosive soot and ash. The subtle lines and burn scars of his body that Hog traces with his fingers. His thighs that make excellent pillows. The way Jamie fits nicely into Mako's hands makes him smile.

The excitement in his voice that can go on and on as he explains the mechanics of his prosthetics and bombs long into the night. The softness Jamie has early in the morning that Hog appreciates as he stumbles downstairs. The manic laughter Rat has as the bike speeds away from the cops and his grenades blow up.

Mako loves to listen to Jamie's voice as his hands roam his rat's body.

OTP Headcanon: Roadhog's Body

One of Rat's favourite things about Roadhog is his belly. The light stretch mark on the sides and the ones that slightly warp his large tattoo. Jamie loves the pig around his belly button and the sheer weight of it all when Hog lies on him.

Another is Mako's hands, the way they completely wrap around Jamie's torso. The palms that can cover his entire head and Jamie can rub his face on. His giant fingers that trace tiny circles onto Jamie's back and his thumbs that gently wipe blood off of Jamie's face when he's made a mess.

Jamie's ultimate favourite is Roadhog's face. The little scars that litter his face over his thick eyebrows and big cheeks. The big scar that runs down the side of his face. The gold rings in his nose, and the golden lip and eyebrow peiricings. Mako's thick lips that kiss Jamie's stumps when he's in pain and his lips when they're preparing to rob someone blind.

Jamie loves all parts of his hog. His mind, his voice and his body. Everything.

OTP Headcanon: Jamie's First Museum

During their crime spree, the Junkers didn't get much time to themselves between stealing shit and running from the authorities so they tried to seize the precious time they had.

One of those moments, Mako took Jamie out to a museum. Jamie was absolutely amazed by the vast space, he pulled Mako along by his giant arm and dragged him to each exhibition.

One by one, they went to all the rooms and saw everything. Jamie stopped at every activity and excitingly asked Hog to watch or help him out. Mako got to teach Rat about chemistry and the development of medicine, it was the first time in a while they were able to talk and chill out.

Jamie's favourite exhibit was all the industrial revolution and the machines they produced in the steam power age. He loved seeing the evolution of omnic development and design as well.

They spent the entire day there and left quite happily. The rest of their night, Jamie talked and talked, hyperfixated on the museum and everything new he learnt.

Do you think Junkers are regarded as Australian citizens by those in the coastal cities?

Legally, yes. They are still Aussie citizens but the coastal cites don't really know that people survived the Omnium blast bar the government, who sent out researchers and nuclear scientists. The coastal area only find out about the Junkers when Roadhog and Junkrat start acting up.

The Junker Community are then seen as criminals and animals.

Some people in coastal areas are more compassionate towards Junkers and pity them but others hate them, still no-one helps them.
