Parents when they fuck up: Well, there's no manual on how to be a good parent and they don't teach you how to do it in school so you should forgive it when we do something hurtful. We just don't know better.

Parents when they are told that hitting children is considered harmful: That research is fake and contradicts my christian parenting books. I have a parental right to beat my children if they're disobedient or stray from my expectations and anyone who says otherwise is trying to undermine my authority and make my children soft and disrespectful.

i need to know if kdramas are making a point with the whole physically abusive parents thing. like this mother is hitting her child, while scolding her for letting someone else's mother hit her. literally saying the words 'how could you let her hit you" while she herself is hitting her child repeatedly

either a point is being made or the cognitive dissonance is so massive my brain can't compute it

Child: "My teacher told me that LGBT people exist and that there's nothing wrong with them."

Parent: "HOW DARE SCHOOLS GROOM MY CHILD! PERVERTS LIKE THAT DON'T BELONG ANYWHERE NEAR CHILDREN!"

Child: "Also, my principal hit me on the ass with a paddle."

Parent: "You probably deserved it. I literally signed something saying that he has my permission to do that. My anger toward perverts grooming children has magically vanished."

I’m really tired of only seeing posts for trauma survivors who have managed to stay kind. not all of us can. not all of us can do that and still cope.

shoutout to my fellow trauma survivors who expect the worst, who are unfriendly, who have learned not to be vulnerable because people have used vulnerability to hurt you, who are quick to bare teeth, who are jaded and exhausted, who learned to compartmentalize and shut to things away and not feel, who are called bitter and disappoint people who expect us to be model survivors.

we are no less valuable or human than anyone else.

Why do you not believe in narcissistic abuse? Or what’s your stance on that?

Because there's no pattern of abuse that's exclusive to narcissists. Everything that gets labeled as "narcissistic abuse" is a pattern that people with enough power and privilege have on a regular basis. Calling it "narcissistic abuse" scapegoats mentally ill people while giving mentally sane people with the same patterns a free pass.

It's so hard not to truly blossom to hate Christianity when you come out of it. The obsession with evil, and the devil and his presumed role in the behavior of children.

I grew up in a corporal punishment home.

All my friends in the church we were part of were out through physical discipline. I don't believe Christians make good parents. They treat children like objects and animals.

And now, I've found myself seeing the ruby franke case and I'm just so sick and devastated. Those poor babies. Those poor babies.

The diary of this woman calling these children possessed, tormenting them.

It's not at all suprising that she considers herself a good Christian woman.

I hope she gets tortured to death in prison for what she put her kids through.

God I hope she does. Christians shouldn't be allowed to have kids if they're going to abuse them and project their weird moral system onto them before they've even grown old enough to develope impulse Control.
