Please help a queer, nd, disabled artist cover tuition for college

It's been a whole roller coaster of events this past 8 months for me, but I've ended up enrolling in a community college less than two months before the semester starts and I need some assistance making sure I can afford the full tuition out of pocket so that I don't have to take up any loans for such a relatively cheap remainder. Once tuition is covered I'll be using any potential leftover funds to take care of transport and housing. If you want to, and can afford to, please consider helping out a disabled and neurodivergent aroace enby pursue their degree in graphic design ^^

Sometimes it feels like fandom treats canon Asexuality/Aromanticism in characters as Straight Lite. I don’t know how else I can describe it but so many allos are happy to respect a character’s canon queer identity until that identity is aspec in some form

#especially if the character is widely considered to be hot or attractive #because how can this person I find attractive possibly not find people attractive as well?/s #because if you’re considered hot by society then society thinks you must sleep around all the time or be a hopeless romantic #bi people suffer a similar problem too #headcanoning a gender preference is one thing but often bi characters are treated as monosexual

What’s worse is that it’s so hard to avoid, especially when you’re in a time crunch or just don’t have the energy to cook with anything that takes more prep than ordering delivery or sticking it in a microwave. So many snacks or instant/fast food meals are just chock full of salt and it makes you feel terrible later, but it’s also delicious and your brain wants to pursue convenient yum yums over spending more time to make something just as tasty but also healthier

Every time I eat less salt for a while I’m like wow I feel better what is this wizardry and then I get distracted and start eating more salt again and I’m like damn I feel like someone’s shoved chewing gum into my machinery I wonder why that is

Every person need to be taught disability history

Not the “oh Einstein was probably autistic” or the sanitized Helen Keller story. but this history disabled people have made and has been made for us.

Teach them about Carrie Buck, who was sterilized against her will, sued in 1927, and lost because “Three generations of imbeciles [were] enough.”

Teach them about Judith Heumann and her associates, who in 1977, held the longest sit in a government building for the enactment of 504 protection passed three years earlier.

Teach them about all the Baby Does, newborns in 1980s who were born disabled and who doctors left to die without treatment, who’s deaths lead to the passing of The Baby Doe amendment to the child abuse law in 1984.

Teach them about the deaf students at Gallaudet University, a liberal arts school for the deaf, who in 1988, protested the appointment of yet another hearing president and successfully elected I. King Jordan as their first deaf president.

Teach them about Jim Sinclair, who at the 1993 international Autism Conference stood and said “don’t mourn for us. We are alive. We are real. And we’re here waiting for you.”

Teach about the disability activists who laid down in front of buses for accessible transit in 1978, crawled up the steps of congress in 1990 for the ADA, and fight against police brutality, poverty, restricted access to medical care, and abuse today.

Teach about us.
