If you were to ask me, I would say that in a comfortable setting Astarion is very subtle with his PDA (he's 200 years old, he doesn't need to hold your hand all the time for you to know that he likes you) but can you imagine how obnoxious he was while trying to butter you up so you'd help murder his evil ex/abusive parental figure/boogeyman vampire master. Just nonstop playing games of grabass, squeezing knees, playing with ears, oh and the cooing with that voice. Meanwhile everyone else is just rubbing their temples and rolling their eyes.

And then, after he tells you he actually likes you and you have your heart-to-heart, the guy just drops the act entirely and everybody is wondering if you broke up when in reality you went fully steady lmao
