just watched the first episode of blue period

fully honest opinions, wasn’t amazing but it works. Animation was sorta clunky and I wish it set the atmosphere and mood more with music etc. not really feeling the same magical feeling I felt from when I read the manga but it can’t be helped- I’m hoping quality gets better in other episodes but for now I’d probably stick with the manga!!

Thank you for giving us the adaptation though. I just wish it was alittle higher in quality because blue period really deserved it

Yokoo and Satou First Names

I’m not sure if anyone posted bout this but let’s discuss the meaning of Yokoo and Satou’s first names.

Yokoo Shun (横尾 瞬): 横尾 Yokoo in which 横 means sideways/side/horizontal and 尾 means tail, 瞬 Shun can mean at a moment/instant.

Satou Yomogi (佐藤 蓬): 佐藤 Satou in which 佐 means help/aid and 藤 means wisteria. 佐藤 is also homonym with 砂糖 which means sugar. 蓬 Yomogi means Mugwort which is used in tea and desserts. Collectively supporting how his family owns a Japanese confectionery (Wagashi) shop.

Bonus:

The first name Tsuchigomori gives is Ryuujirou (龍仁郎) in which 龍 means dragon and you see this character in Tsuchigomori’s name 土籠, 仁 means benevolence and 郎 refers to son.

佐藤 Satou is the most common surname in Japan

Their single character given names follows the trend amongst majority of the JSHK characters getting single character given names (e.g. Amane 普, Tsukasa 司)
