Hot take but I DONT think that the Hunger Games movies overemphasized the love triangle in the original story. I think the movies portrayed exactly as much romance as there was in the books and the fandom overemphasized the love triangle because the movies were marketed towards teenage girls and that’s just what teenage girls did back then. Rewatching the movies makes me wonder what people are talking about when they criticize them for being “too focused on the romance” like seriously are you mad at the movies or are you mad because when they came out all anyone could talk about was Peeta vs Gale.

Started reading Dr Stone and couldn't really get into it (for various visual reasons) but one of the most accurate things about Dr Stone is how like the fourth thing the invent is a gun. That is such a teenage boy move like. Oh no we need to fight someone! How do we do this?

I love the Crocomom One Piece theory because I think it would be funny if Oda said it was canon, but what I think would be even funnier would be if Oda confirmed that Crocodile was trans and Luffy's parent but he also confirmed that Dragon was trans too, and instead of Crocodile being pregnant with Luffy it was Dragon who carried Luffy after Ivankov transitioned Crocodile (obv Iva gave Dragon a hormone transition as well but that would be after Luffy was born). It would be funny and make a lot of people mad which makes it even funnier

I have a personal headcanon that Sanji had to train himself out of his natural flight response (honed after years of being unable to defend himself from his brothers) to be able to fight with the ferocity and passion he has, which makes his and Usopp’s relationship a little more interesting because I can imagine Sanji seeing some of himself in Usopp and trying to help him gain confidence in his own way

Ok I’m writing a One Piece fic where Uta remembers Tot Música and later joins the Strawhats and I just found out there’s a fic with that plot on A03. It’s called Uta’s Idol by OddAiTanijiro and it seems pretty popular but I’m not a fan of Uta/Luffy which seems to be the main ship of the fic based on the tags. I was wondering if anyone on here had read the fic and could tell me what they thought of it. The main reason I have not touched it yet is because of the romance tag but I’d probably still read it if that wasn’t the focus of the fic. I tried to look and as far as I know the writer doesn’t have a tumblr but if they are on here please feel free to dm me. I mostly don’t want to copy anyone by accident + I love the premise of Uta joining the Strawhats so I’d love to read the fic.

Biggest Pet Peeve on OP fic characterization (but seriously ilysm op writers)

Luffy: Being written as callous or emotionally ignorant. Literally one of his whole things is being able to read people. Yes he is kinda dumb when it comes to certain social conventions and he straight up ignores lots of emoting/body language but when it counts he's one of the most emotionally intelligent characters in OP. That's where all his brain cells went pls he's not a child.

Zoro: Why do some people write him as just a straight up AH. Literally loves the crew so much he might even rival Luffy those are his people his family his Ohana his silly guys and galls. Zoro is GRUFF not MEAN.

Sanji: When people write about Sanji before he left Germa as though he was born with a talent for cooking. Not a big thing but it does tick me off. Like, one of the key parts of his backstory is that he was a shit cook before learning. Let him fail please it shows character growth.

Nami: Also just a personal preference but I do not read Nami as attracted to men. She comes off as a lesbian to me which I know is not canon but it fees canon. Also I read her and Luffy’s relationship as sibling-like so while I will avoid any fic where Nami is in a relationship with a man I will take extra steps to avoid fics where she’s in a relationship with Luffy. Again more personal preference but it does give me the ick

Usopp: I love Usopp angst fics and people who write about Usopp are some of the best angst writers I’ve encountered. That being said I like it most when writers approach Usopp’s relationship with his dad as more than “hates him for leaving”. Canonically I can’t remember if Usopp has said anything about his dad other than being proud to have him as a father, and I think that’s an interesting thing for authors to play around with.
