Years passed by so quickly
Without our awareness
Memories were earned
Things changed, things happened
People around come and go
However, life must go on

it is currently four in the morning,
i woke up from a dream i can
only partially remember...
the sound of the wind and
the heavy rain outside
is keeping my mind awake...
it is soothing and calming
but at the same time thinking
“what if the roof gets blown away?”

i thought i was talking in a normal tone
but apparently i was not
i learned that i either sounds
annoying or bossy
i guess i rather not talk then
to be misunderstood

I tried it once, but did they even listen to me?
yes, you’re right! They did not..
They didn’t even attempt to act as if they care.
So why would I try for the second time?

Trained myself well how to
smile and laugh at everything.
But once I have to deal with
a real emotion, I freeze.
It’s overwhelming and
it gives me anxiety.
What should I do??
What do you want me to do?

You broke my trust in you once and I learned to trust you again
But the pain I experienced at that time is still hunting me even years have passed
Painful memories kept replaying in my head as if it just happened yesterday
I can't sleep; it makes me feel anxious; I'm silently brawling while you're in a deep sleep, as if nothing happened, just like that night

In Asia, depending on which country you are, we could call this dish either congee, porridge, or arroz caldo..
Every Christmas, each employee in the company I’m currently working for gets a whole frozen turkey.
One day my co-worker and I are having this conversation
me: what are you planning to do with your turkey this year?
her: I'm not sure yet; husband will probably bake it in the oven. how about you guys?
me: not too sure either. Last year B thaw it, then sliced it by parts, then sous vide. We ended up making porridge out of it with chicken bouillon. Sometimes we add century egg and eat it with Chinese donut too.
her: (giving me a weird look 👀 ) ahhhhmmm you're weird. Why would you eat porridge that way??
me: what do you mean? Lol it’s good, you should try it too.
her: yeah no thanks! I'll pass.
After few minutes, I found a picture of porridge I was talking about and showed it to her.
me: this. look! I think it looks good 👍
her: ohhh that's not porridge! That looks good.
me: lol, it is porridge! What are you talking about? (search it online and showed her more pictures) see?
her: (searching picture too) See? This is the porridge I know!!
From that day I learned that,
Asian: porridge = congee = arroz caldo
Canadian: porridge = oatmeal
🤣😂🤣😂

Sometimes letting your boss take advantage of you is not a bad idea. You'll just have to learn how to play their game and go with the flow. Then they'll think you're under their control, but in reality, you're the one controlling them. Take advantage of that opportunity for your own benefit
