Watch the first 20 minutes of fishing adventure game Dredge
youtube
Dark fishing adventure game Dredge was just confirmed for Switch recently, and now we have a look at what the game has to offer in a new gameplay video. This video features the first twenty minutes or so of the game. In this early section, the player is introduced to the world, taught how to maneuver their boat and how to catch fish.
Dredge is a fishing adventure with a mystery to uncover as you and your fishing trawler are shipwrecked due to an unnatural fog. Sell the varied fish you catch, upgrade your trawler, and uncover whats really happening in the fog covered town.
While this video only offers hints at the darker things lurking beneath the surface, it does give a pretty good idea of how the game flow works in regard to catching and selling fish, and interacting with NPCs. Dredge will be available on Nintendo Switch sometime in 2023.

Kadabra may be returning to Pokémon TCG according to illusionist Uri Geller
Tumblr media
Kadabra has been completely absent from the Pokémon Trading Card Game since the year 2000, disappointing fans for the past couple of decades. The reason behind this is thanks to Kadabra’s borrowing of the mannerisms of illusionist and magician Uri Geller. Geller sued Nintendo for using his likeness (and in Japan, a distortion of his name, Yungerer) without his permission back in 2000. Since then, there’s been a silent ban on new Kadabra cards. Finally, a couple of years ago, Geller apologized for his actions. He declared that he no longer minded if Nintendo published Kadabra cards, but new ones still haven’t shown up since.
According to a recent discussion with PokéBeach, things may finally be changing. Speaking with them, Geller indicated that Kadabra could be receiving a new card “soon, perhaps as early as December”. However, this is still unconfirmed and the info and timing could change. Geller also restated his feelings on the entire matter and what he regrets about his initial lawsuit.
The reason I changed my mind — first of all, I did a stupid thing for suing them. I was just angry that my name appeared on a Pokemon card out of the blue without ever being asked. The most important thing is in these 20 years I became a grandfather. I saw my granddaughters and I thought ‘Come on, you gotta release the Pokemon card back into circulation again.’ Hence my letter. And what a nice letter [Ishihara] sent back. I’m really happy about it. Now I run a children’s charity where you can become a citizen of an island I established in Scotland called Lamb Island.
Hopefully, this means that the Kadabra drought is almost over! Again, no official announcement has been made of any kind, but things seem optimistic. For a full breakdown of the saga and more potential evidence that a new Kadabra card is on the way, you can read the full article over at PokéBeach.

Pokémon Unite broadcaster Spragels speaks on the game's meta and competitive success
Tumblr media
Pokémon Unite recently held its first ever world championship event, which was a great success. Having only been released a year ago, this Pokémon themed MOBA game has found a surprising amount of success amongst casual and competitive players. In a new interview with Comicbook.com, Pokémon Unite content creator Spragels discusses what makes the game so compelling.
As one of the commentators at the Championship, and a frequent streamer of the game, Spragels has plenty of insight to share about what makes it so exciting. For anyone who isn’t as immersed in the scene as he is, here’s what he had to say about the game’s constantly evolving meta:
Spragels: Well, I am in Pokemon Unite all the time, so it’s not too difficult for me to keep up with. And I try to help my audience understand what’s going on as changes are happening. The best part about games like this without question are balance changes and when things shift around. All of a sudden, a Pokemon that people didn’t use like Mr. Mime is rebalanced and suddenly Mr. Mime is amazing. I love that. And also it’s really cool to see that teams from different regions sort of solidify their own metas and then bring them together. I don’t think anybody would’ve expected that one of the best teams in the world was playing Gardevoir. It’s a really cool Pokemon but it doesn’t see almost any competitive play, at least in NA and EU. Very, very little. And then all of a sudden, Renaissance comes in here and is absolutely dominant with a Pokemon that I think people would’ve said is not in the meta.
The fact that new Pokémon are cycled into the game as time goes on is definitely exciting, especially when lesser used ones get their time in the spotlight. Later in the interview, Spragels discusses what he thinks should be done to keep Pokémon Unite’s competitive scene growing without becoming stagnant:
Spragels: More teams obviously. If you can get more teams involved, that would be great. If there are other regions that would like more representation, I think that would be exciting. The more teams that you could bring together at Worlds would just be incredible.
More Pokemon obviously, because it just makes the strategies deeper. And there are a lot of ways that they can increase the level of strategy inside of a tournament as well. There are other games similar to this that have things like a pick and ban phase. They have ways where Pokemon cannot be selected by a team in a certain round. There are a lot of things that you could do to increase the complexity of it and I think also increase the excitement from a spectator’s point of view. So I think a lot of that could be really cool.
It’s great to see a fresh title like Pokémon Unite hit it out of the park in so many ways for competitive players. Click over to Comicbook.com in order to read the full interview, for more insight into what makes the game tick, and which competitive players are currently dominating.

You can order your copy now from Materia Store (Vinyl/Compact Disk). If you’re thirsty for more NieR remixes, then check out the other albums they have here.
About the album:
Much like the fast-adapting machines in the game, the two artists have leveled up their production since the days of their first foray with NieR: Glory to Mankind. Their sound here is sometimes darker, more mature, and overall more polished, thanks in large part to the wealth of collaborators they’ve brought in.
Within these eleven new covers, you’ll hear the duo’s hybrid orchestral-pop sound that blends heavy-hitting strings and brass, stark choir, textures of winds and synths, electric guitar, and a plethora of vocals from REVEN. The live orchestra sections were recorded by Sofia Session Orchestra and Choir in Sofia, Bulgaria, including a traditional Bulgarian Choir on several tracks.
The result is an intense trip back through the world of the game, but whether this constitutes Ending B or perhaps Ending C, D, or E is up to interpretation.
[Materia Store]
NieR:Automata The End of YoRHa Edition is scheduled to release on October 6th, 2022, for the Nintendo Switch; you can pre-order the game here.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet gets a batch of mysterious teaser images
Tumblr media
The official Pokémon Twitter account has shared four teaser images depicting mysterious painted-on symbols discovered throughout nature. Reportedly taken by a photographer from Paldea, the region in which Pokémon Scarlet and Violet take place, what the pictures could mean is anyone’s guess. One of them looks like a table from The Krusty Krab, but that’s most definitely just a mere coincidence.
Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, the first fully open-world Pokémon games, launches for Nintendo Switch on Nov. 18th, 2022.

Monorail Stories on Switch bumped to Q4 2022, new trailer shared
youtube
Publisher Freedom Games and developer Stelex Software announced back in June that the adventure title Monorail Stories was heading to Switch. At that time, they revealed that the game would arrive sometime in Q3 2022. Unfortunately, that’s no longer going to be the case. Freedom Games has now confirmed a Q4 2022 release, but we’ll have to wait a bit longer for a specific date.
Along with that announcement came a new trailer, which you can check out above.
Monorail Stories is an adventure game focusing on extraordinary things happening to ordinary people. Board the monorail and experience a special story about humanity, friendships, and intertwined destinies manifesting during the everyday commute.
The choices you make on the monorail affect stories. Every decision and interaction can lead to multiple endings for the main characters, Ahmal and Silvie. When their story ends, yours can begin in Season story mode. This offers you the ability to define a new commuter and experience the city from another perspective, with new content and stories added at regular intervals.
