imogen is literally a 16 year old girl with a crush who immediately backed off and sympathized with nick when he turned her down and took the heat off of the situation when nicks friends questioned him and was happy to see him with charlie in the last episode and yet some of y'all are acting like she is a straight up VILLAIN. SHE IS A CHILD. imogen did nothing wrong i stand by this. 🤞🏻🤞🏻

this whole taylor swift joe jonas sophie turner thing is just. so funny to me. like imagine you’re taylor swift and you’ve just released a song from eleven years ago that publicly calls your ex boyfriend at the time a cheater and drags his name through the mud for picking up other girls the moment after he dumped you in a 25 second phone call, and HIS WIFE who is YOUR FRIEND loves the song enough that she shares it on her instagram story with the caption ‘it’s not NOT a bop’. can u imagine being joe jonas having to listen to your wife play your ex girlfriend’s song abt how you were a piece of shit boyfriend in your own house eleven years later. i would cry

Look I understand that skin-color is an issue in many books and especially SJM books, but diversity is not reduced to skin-color and I wish that was talked about more.
I think one of the most prominent issues that her books have is the representation of culture and ethnicity. If Cassian, Azriel, and Rhys are suppose to belong to a specific race/ethnicity, then there’s something inherently wrong with how that culture is represented. That the men in this culture are militaristic and archaic in their beliefs. The women are traditional and have no rights… and that’s it. There is no difference in religion in the text. No different language. No different foods, except not having spices. Social rules. No community roles or values. The values have been reduced to criticism in “our way is better than yours.” Think past skin-color for a second here, the way the characters look at Illyrians, while being Illyrians is such a discriminatory perspective that no way would exist if they belonged and grew up in that culture. They want to change their culture, the culture that only exists by being traditional, antifeminist, and militaristic. That’s the whitest shit I’ve ever heard.
That’s how that culture is represented. If you have ever read or studied anything about westernization, which I’m sure everyone has at some point, this is the epitome of the West looking at the East, the South, the North, and minorities who move into the West. That’s the problem that she has with diversity. It is not enough to have a dark-skinned person, a light-skinned person, an ambiguous tan-skinned person and we slap a label on it and say that’s diversity. It’s not enough to have one character who is canonically bi/lesbian (unsure at this point) and then have that character have no narrative function, unrelated to her not being “out” yet. WTF. But it’s the same concept.
That’s her diversity.

"if she marries cassian maybe she gets his money" babe, what money? at no point in the books is it mentioned whether both cassian and azriel have money. when they come to the night court, they don't have their own houses (i would assume a 500+ year old with money would have some sort of savings at least for his own house) they have 'rooms' at each of rhys's own houses. they always meet up at his court, his house of wind, his mansion, they don't have their own places to live, all their clothes/other belongings, are at their rooms at rhys's mansions. rhys is the only person in the entire series who has some kind of money (still unexplained where he gets it from) and he claims to pay all his friends but at no point have we seen anybody in the series use their own money for any purpose
I love the small contingent of people who read acosf and went "hang on, this is wage theft"
