Holy shit balls, this film was brilliant. And to think I thought this was some trashy action film from the posters and the trailer.
This has to be one of the greatest mainstream films I’ve ever witnessed in YEARS. I haven’t gotten so emotional over a film in the longest time. Thanks Ezakia, my good friend, for recommending this glorious piece of cinematic art.
Please go and watch this film, if you haven’t. Go and support this absurdian, surrealistic existential comedy sci-fi work of masterful art. People talk about how there isn’t enough “original” films in the mainstream scene(and they’re not far off), but with the existence of films such as this masterpiece, all that can change. You just gotta support, support, support. Give your money to support artists like the Daniels, and we will have grandiose amounts of films like this. And watch it more than once, because I definitely am going back to the theater for a second viewing(and most likely a third).

So here’s my two cents on the new Batman: I am actually not the biggest fan of superhero movies or comic book films in general. Matter of fact, most of times I despise them because I consider them the lower parts of cinema.
However, there are rare cases where a story or a script from a superhero universe that can be molded fairly well and be adapted beautifully for the silver screens. And just like the Joker film(with the amazing Joaquin Phoenix), the new Batman pulled what most superhero movies throughout cinema history couldn’t achieve. And that is bringing realism to their universes. I know they’ve tried to do that, supposedly with the Gotham tv show, and I know they tried it with the Nolan trilogy. But most of them fell short or just turned out to be complete trash.
Matt Reeves is, I would say, the ultimate artist of superhero movies. He’s crafted the apex of a comic book film that no other filmmakers in the past couldn’t perfect.
Bravo, Mr. Reeves.

So I have people in my personal life that do not agree with my cinematic taste(I’d probably say almost every single people I know in my personal life). So they ask, “why do you love movies so much” or “what’s the point of movies”?
And I tell them, “movies are like fables, like bedtime stories for adults(of course I’m speaking of the ACTUAL cinema, not the trash ones). And you literally receive the understanding of human morals, understanding of life, and just that pure feeling of joy whenever I witness those magical experiences with brilliant films. And honestly, I do not have too much passion for any other things in life, except for cinema.”
