"You cannot do this, Natsu!" Lucy whisper-yells at him, dragging him inside the dressing room before anyone notices. She slams the door shut behind her and heaves a sigh.
"Do what?" Natsu gives her a look as he puts his shirt on, his muscles flexing. The celestial mage quickly averts her eyes before the slayer can catch her staring and goes over to the locker, so he doesn't see her red face.
As Lucy takes new clothes out from the locker, she says in low tone, "You can't barge into the ladies changing room, what if someone saw you?!" Turning around, the blonde tries to make her point with a glare.
The pinkette makes a face, "Wanted to make sure that you weren't too upset to talk to me." He confesses. And Lucy has to clear her throat to suppress the small smile that threatened to show at his words.
"WELL, I am mad at you!" She informs, "You embarassed me in front of everyone today!" Lucy huffs her frustration aloud, crossing arms over her chest. Natsu just shrugs.
"Oh c'mon, Luce, I've seen every inch of your body," the fire mage reasons, "also nothing I haven't touched--" Mortified, Lucy clamps her hand over his mouth before he can go any further with his misleading words.
What if someone hears him? No one will ever take her as a bride! Lucy scowls, "Natsu! Don't say that," then releases him and steps away. Natsu rolls his eyes at her, "Again being a weirdo."
"You know what, At this point, NOBODY is going to marry me!" Hands on her hips, the key mage tries to explain her concern. Natsu chooses to ignore her words completely. Puts a towel over her head and starts drying her hair, while Lucy stares at him.
"Can't believe it, such an idiot. Ignoring me now!" She grumbles. Completely missing his grin. However, she does hear him a few seconds later, "Wasn't planning on letting you marry anybody else anyways."
[This had a chokehold on me]

His Favorite Person
Tumblr media
Stray drops fall here and there, a warning from the thick gray clouds above to seek shelter. The dreary day does not hamper Natsu’s good spirits, however; it is but an invitation to spend a cozy day inside with his favorite person. Contained within a bag slung over his shoulder is an assortment of fresh vegetables, as well as some fish he’d caught just that morning. He plans to commandeer Lucy’s kitchen and whip up some fish stew for them to enjoy together. The dragon slayer grins to himself, bounding up the cobblestone path toward the rear window of the familiar apartment. He stops short when he hears Lucy’s voice from within.
“—am I supposed to do, Mom? I can’t get the idea out of my head, no matter how hard I try.”
The vulnerable timbre of her voice catches Natsu off guard. He leans forward just enough to peer through the open window and finds Lucy sitting on the edge of her bed, back to the window, clutching the framed photo of her mother that she always keeps on her bookshelf.
“It’s stupid, right? I mean, we’re friends. And guild mates. If he were interested in me, you know…romantically, wouldn’t he have said so by now? Or shown it in some way? I mean, he’s seen me in some pretty hot outfits. And he’s had plenty of opportunities to…I don’t know. Make a move? I guess I probably shut him down a lot in the beginning. I had no idea how I would wind up feeling about him. Is it possible I shut him down too much, and he moved on from the possibility of being in a relationship with me?”
Natsu’s hand tightens around the strap on his shoulder. Lucy has a crush on someone in Fairy Tail? An uncomfortable feeling settles in his stomach. He’s not quite sure what causes it—maybe the fact that he and Lucy share everything with each other, but she had not once breathed a word of this to him.
The rain begins to fall a little more steadily.
“Who knows. Maybe he’s interested in someone else? Or maybe he’s not into the idea at all. Either way, I can’t talk to him about it. I don’t want to mess up our friendship. There’s no way he feels the same way about me as I feel about him. Can you imagine if he knew I liked him?”
Natsu knows he shouldn’t be eavesdropping, but his limbs keep him frozen in place. If he listens just a little longer, maybe he will learn who this wizard is that she has a crush on. He’s not sure what he’ll do with that information, but it’s a start, anyway. He has a sudden intense urge to uncover this secret of hers.
“No, I’ve gotta keep this to myself. It’s better this way. His feelings won’t change.” She pauses, and Natsu watches her clutch the frame against her chest. “But…I don’t think mine will, either. How do I…what do I do, Mom? Won’t it hurt to keep up the pretense of a friendship, when deep down, I want something more?” She heaves something between a groan and a sigh. “Gods…why did I have to fall for Natsu?”
The dragon slayer blinks. …M-Me? ME?!
The sack of ingredients falls to the wet path, forgotten in light of this revelation. Natsu has only one objective as he clambers across the windowsill and plops down atop Lucy’s bed. The celestial wizard shrieks at his abrupt and unexpected appearance and flings herself to the floor, but Natsu stares at her with furrowed brow and all the solemnity he can muster.
“I wanna make sure I heard you right,” he says; “you did say my name, right?”
Her face is crimson. “Wh-What are you doing here?!” she sputters. “W-Were you…listening to me just now?”
Natsu leans over the side of the bed, palms pressed into its edge, and continues to lock his gaze upon her face, studying every tiny shift in her expression. “Let me get this straight: you like me, but you think I don’t like you?”
Lucy opens and closes her mouth like a fish, but no words come out. Her face seems to be growing redder by the second, and her eyes shift to the side.
Natsu’s heart begins to pound in his chest. So he had heard her right. The fire wizard slides off the bed to meet her on the floor. Lucy hides her face behind her hands, but Natsu reaches up and takes them in his own. “Lucy…” he begins, but he’s unsure of what to say. Maybe that’s just the thing. Maybe it isn’t words he needs to convince her she’s wrong.
Giving her hands a tight squeeze, his heart now racing uncontrollably and his stomach in knots, Natsu leans forward and presses a kiss into her lips. She doesn’t recoil, or slap him, or tell him off. She merely flinches then leans into the gesture.
When he pulls back, she is staring at him with wide, glossy eyes. For a long moment they stare into each other’s eyes, each of them at a complete loss for words. The rain outside falls steadily now, a gentle and encouraging soundtrack to their unanticipated but mutual confession. At last, a smile breaks across Lucy’s lips, then Natsu’s.
 They share a giggle.

Former Arrangements - Chapter 12
Bear Flint spat out several pieces of his teeth. That young punk, he grunted as he stumbled to his feet and snapped his head to glare at the Dragon Slayer…his eyes widened.
“W-what kind of monster are you?” Never had he seen such magic transform a wizard, not even the other dragon slayers looked like the beast in front of him! He had heard rumors of Natsu Dragneel being a monster, a demon, an enemy no one wanted to face, but nothing he saw had deemed those rumors as anything but that.
In his gut, he felt a twinge of an emotion he had not felt in a long time: fear.
Chapter Twelve is finally here on both AO3 | FF.net
Took a bit longer due to some real life things happening. Takes a lot of mental prep and focus to throw a party for people. Not an easy feat for someone who considers themselves lazy!
Hope the shorter chapter is good enough for now!

Chapter 1 - Fear
An unpleasant emotion caused by the threat of danger, pain, or harm.
x
A twig snapping made him pause, turn, and look back amongst the wall of retreating black trees. The thick under growth snaked its way down the dishevelled path that bared no recent sign of disturbance, leading further into the darkness of the forest. His spooked eyes narrowed to scan the dense woodland, finding nothing but the same eerie silence that emanated from every direction, deafening his ears with its unnatural hum. It seemed not even the glow of the setting sun could cut through the gloominess of the bleak, barren branches that writhed like monstrous tendrils against the grey nothingness.
"Everything okay?" Lucy asked, hugging her trembling arms to her chest, her heart knocking wildly against her ribcage.
"Thought I heard something," Natsu said, giving one last sweep, before turning back to catch up to his blonde partner. "This place sure is creepy."
"Y-Yeah...why didn't we take the flower shop mission again?" Jittery fingers tightened around goose-pimpled skin, her body resisting the urge to flinch at every haunting howl that rumbled from deep within the belly of the woods. "…no freaky trees…no dark forests...nice and safe…" she continued to mumble, her eyes darting from one tree to another, the air feeling heavy on her lungs.
"And super boring! Where's the fun in picking flowers?" He scoffed, his lazy smile giving away a sense of ease, while his darkened, focused stare said otherwise. "Don't make out you weren't swayed by the reward, you could've easily stayed home, and yet, here you are."
"We're a team, Natsu, and team's usually stick together." Her poor attempt at lying didn't fool him, but he'd let it slide for now, they had bigger things to worry about. "Anyway, this monster we're looking for… got any idea of what it might be? You know, so we can prepare ourselves for when it inevitably shows itself."
"Not a clue. The old lady back there didn't even know, but apparently it likes to pray on young women."
"Great…" That's all she needed!
"...especially blondes."
"That's not funny…"
He cackled, "Yeah, it is!"
The trail they were following began to narrow and coil down further into the thicket, disappearing beyond the whiteness of the mist that coated the root-riddled ground. Having to duck under the twining, finger-like twigs, a dangling leaf licked at her bare shoulder like a wet tongue and she all but jumped out of her skin, falling straight into Natsu, his reflexes catching her just in time.
"What the heck was that!?" She yelped, catching sight of her dripping aggressor.
A snigger tickled her ear from behind, "Careful, Luce, it might come back for seconds!"
She scowled up at him while trying to catch her breath, his lack of empathy getting on her last nerve. This boy was enjoying her suffering, having done nothing but try to tease and scare her since the moment they'd stepped foot in the place.
"Come on, scaredy cat!" He goaded, grabbing her clammy hand to pull along.
"Scaredy cat? That's rich considering it was your little buddy that decided to ditch us back there! I bet he's having the time of his life being pampered by that village elder…" Did she sound bitter? Maybe just a bit, but who was she kidding? That cat got away with everything where Natsu was concerned. Choosing to close her mouth before anything worse slipped out, she turned away and huffed, grumbling to herself, "At least I'm here, aren't I?"
"Sure, but if we don't keep moving, we'll become easy dinner for whatever's out there." He pointed into the gaping abyss for emphasis and a chill ran up her spine at the very thought.
Spurring her to move away from the offending leaf, before it could assault her again, the blonde glanced down to where a familiar warmth encapsulated her hand and noticed the dragon slayer had yet to let go. Not that she was complaining, his warmth had always been a source of comfort, and god did she need that right now.
"Will ya stop dragging your feet and hurry up already?" He complained, raising a knowing eyebrow in her direction.
Snapping her out of her daydream, she picked up the pace, his grip only tightening in response, bringing her shoulder to shoulder with him. "Sorry, I was just—"
"Being slow?" He kept his eyes on her longer than she would've liked, probably trying to work out what was going on in that turbulent mind of hers, before finally smirking, "Weirdo…"
They knew not where they were going, nor what they were looking for. The elder back at the village, as Natsu said, had been incredibly vague about this so-called 'monster.' Considering it was stealing people in the dead of night, in a village so small, someone was bound to have seen it. But alas, the people had kept their distance and remained silent, simply accepting their fate as compliant monster chowder, which Lucy found to be all the more suspicious.
"Hey, Natsu, do you think it's even here? It's night time now," she assumed, not that she could tell through the sky of fog, "Won't it be hunting in the village?"
"Hard to tell," he said, his eyes flitting between the shadows as they strolled further and further into the deep, "I can smell it, though."
"You can smell it?"
"Yep, and this thing reeks! Its scent was all over that village earlier, and it's even stronger now."
"What does a monster even smell like?" She asked, somewhat grossed out; somewhat curious.
"Usually of whatever its eaten; blood, guts, dirt and stuff, but not this thing. It smells old, like super old, and kinda off," he explained, sniffing the dank air to catch another whiff of it.
"Off?"
"Yeah, sorta like that sour milk I found the other day in your fridge."
"Gross..." she grimaced, her feet crunching down on the twigs that'd fallen from their perches, her body tensing with this new information. What did it all mean? "Can you smell the girls at all?"
"Nah, I got nothing. If they're not being eaten, I don't know where they are."
Another snap grabbed his attention, this time louder, like the branch of a tree and he twisted quicker than a zap of lightning, dragging Lucy behind him.
"Geez, could you at least worn me before you-"
"Shh!" He stilted, once again scanning the tortured landscape. The whistling of the wind overwhelmed his ears, and the dark, twisting shadows of the night were playing tricks on his eyes. What was this feeling? Like the trees themselves were watching them, but that wasn't possible, right? "I think something's stalking us."
About to ignite his hand, he felt Lucy grab the tail of his scarf and yank him off the exposed area of path, neither catching their balance and both tumbling down, straight into a thorny bush, "Ow, Lucy! Whadd'ya do that for?!"
"Don't give away our position, moron! We don't even know what it is, yet. What if it's just a bird?" Her butt had landed firmly atop his splayed body, but she paid no heed, squishing him down with her sizeable chest, with his head squashed snugly against a neighbouring tree trunk.
"You think the monster's a bird?" He questioned, seemingly unfazed by their positioning.
"That's not what I… wait what? I meant it might be—"
"'Cause that's a big ass bird, Lucy."
"Never mind the bird, Natsu, the damn thing's irrelevant! How'd you know it's the monster stalking us? Is what I meant."
"What else would it be?"
"I don't know! Whatever it was, it sounded bigger than us."
"Oh, I'm countin' on it!" He finally grinned, fisting the air.
Smacking her head into her palm, she couldn't reason with him, even after everything they'd been through together. The poor celestial mage had concluded a very long time ago that his destructive nature would be the death of them both, one day.
"Look, let's gauge what we're up against first, that's all I'm saying. We have no idea what kind of monster this is, or what it wants. What if it's a demon, or a rogue dragon, or something?" Sneaking a peek past the brushes, she could see no sign of any such creature, but that didn't mean it wasn't there waiting for them.
"Don't be so dramatic! A dragon wouldn't live in a place like this, Lucy." And that, he was quite sure of, "As for a demon, well... I dunno—maybe?"
Eyes like a hawk, her breath hitched in her throat. A demon!? She'd only been throwing words around! That wasn't what she'd signed up for; that hadn't been a part of the deal! Just what kind of hellish place was this!?
"What do you mean, maybe!? I don't want there to be a demon! How would you even know that?"
"I don't…gut feeling, I guess," he said, sitting himself up with her still firmly seated in his lap, his ears almost twitching like a dog.
Unnerved and completely at the mercy of her panic, she tried to shake herself out of it—to no avail. "Okay, okay… if it is a demon, don't we need someone like Gray to take it down? He is a demon slayer, after all."
"Probably," he shrugged, peering out from the thorns and leaves, "but Ice block's not here, so it's up to us to figure out."
She sighed, knowing deep down that her and Natsu would have to face whatever this thing was eventually. Whether it be demon, or some mindless monster—the latter being the preferred option.
Lucy despaired at the thought, and this gloomy environment wasn't helping. Why did this forest make her feel so uneasy? She'd been in places far darker than this, having gone up against demons and the like many times before, even saving a certain fire mage from such a fate. She couldn't put her finger on it, but it just felt different here, chilling. There was something far more sinister that lurked within the depths of these lands, an evil that infected it like a disease, leaving a shiver to quake through her bones.
Far too distracted, the blonde hadn't noticed she'd been lifted into the air until a firm, warm hand clenched her thigh, making her look up to the boy of whom it belonged. To her surprise, his usual care free grin spread across his lips, eyes squinting shut to accommodate his growing cheeks. That smile had always been reassuring, even in the darkest of times, but she had to wonder, if behind it, whether he, too, felt as disturbed as she did? Fearing the unknown was only natural, after all.
"Uh...thanks, Natsu, but you can put me down now," she murmured, her arms clinging to him like a frightened child, betraying her request to be separate from his protective body. "Natsu?"
"Do you see that, Luce?" He asked ignoring her, looking much further than any normal human could ever see.
"See, what?" The forbidding backdrop was the only thing occupying her vision, no matter how hard she tried to imagine the sun beaming down its hot rays with colourful flowers blooming all around them. Quite the romantic scene, indeed.
"Not sure...looks like a small house to me."
"A house? Who in their right mind would live here!?" She was flabbergasted—utterly appalled by the thought.
"Who'd you think?" The wicked glint in his eye said it all, and Lucy felt her heart leap up into her throat. This wasn't going to end well…
"You can't be serious! Shouldn't we be going in the opposite direction?"
"This is what we've been paid to do, Lucy, so we can't quit now," he winked, his grin doubling in size. "We're going monster huntin'!"
Thanks for reading the first chapter! There’s plenty more nalu goodness to come.

Anyone interested in a new nalu fic involving END?
Good, because I'll be posting the first chapter in October (for the run up to Halloween).
Themes: horror, hurt/comfort, friendship, romance, slow burn nalu, might be smut, angst,
I love the whole Natsu is forced to accept that he's a demon/END thing even though he outwardly denies it all the time, and/or the idea that Natsu and Lucy are connected because she rewrote the book of END, so I started writing a fic about it. Hopefully, I do it justice.
Have a good day!

@thenaluarchive Nalu Week 7-part story.
By request of the birthday boi, this story ends w/smut @random-rave
“I’m sad I only get two more days with you,” Lucy lamented as she cuddled to her boyfriend’s side on her bed.
Natsu kissed her temple. “Me too, but it’s just for a month, and you’re coming to visit for a week.”
Lucy lazily drew circles on his chest. “Will you do something for me?”
“What’s that?”
“Make love to me before you go.”
That caught Natsu off guard. Sure they’d known each other a while, were close before becoming a couple, but it’s a quick leap in a short time—
He turned his body to face Lucy, “are you sure?”
Holding up a condom she’d pulled from her back pocket, Lucy nodded her head slowly, coyly tugging up at the hem of his shirt to prove her point. Sweet, but innocent she was not. “I’ve fantasized enough about this.”
With a grin and a giggle, the whirlwind stripping contest commenced as each tried to shed their clothing as quickly as possible. Fabric was flung all over the room, his shirt here, her shorts there. “I win!” Natsu cackled and tackled Lucy who’s half way out of her top.
Lucy giggled as he pinned her to the bed. “You’re such a goof!”
After pulling her top off and tossed it to the side, Natsu grinned. “And you’re blinding.” Making Lucy blush.
She pulled him prone over her body, leading his head down against her neck. He started kissing the nape, suckling at her pulse point, and leaving canine marks in her skin. Lucy moaned and wrapped her arms around his back, his neck, running her fingers through his hair and pulling when he bites her a little hard. Natsu was rougher than expected… yet it drove the heat in her loins up another notch. One side, he kissed along to the other, paying attention to her ear lobes, and running his tongue along the shell.
He moved lower to pay homage to her breast’s, his hands plying the supple flesh, kneading, squeezing as he teased her nipples with his tongue and sucked so hard he left welts. Lucy dug her nails into his back with each oral lashing. But as Natsu took care of her top half, his fingers were on their way to another— and she felt it, heated digits skimming down against her taut belly, her legs parted in anticipation.
“Yes, there…” Lucy moaned as Natsu’s fingers toyed with her clit, rubbing the little bud into a fire bug, then slipped inside her in triplicate. “That’s it Natsu…” Her pelvis moved to chase his jarring thrusts.
Now his mouth followed the same route down, kissing its way over her stomach to latch onto her clit in a double assault. He sucked on her clit and lapped up her spilling juices, taking turns to run his tongue between her folds. All the while his fingers kept up its pace. Her whining octave grew with such passing second, and Natsu had to use his free hand to hold Lucy down the more she began to twist and writhe as she chased her orgasm.
It was the clench of Lucy’s inner muscles and the squeezing of her thighs that told the story of her end. Breathing heavily, she collapsed on the bed, while Natsu looked down on her grinning with pride. He licked the juicy remnants on his fingers, then ripped open the condom. As Lucy watched on with eyes wide and willing, he sat back on his haunches as he rolled the condom over his hardened cock. She licked unconsciously at her lips, salivating over how well endowed her boyfriend was. Mental note for Lucy, next time she needed to get a taste of that.
Ready and raring to go, Natsu pulled Lucy to him, her legs splayed over his thighs as he lined up and pushed his way into her. Lucy’s back arched off the bed as his cock filled her full. “Damn,” Natsu’s eyes rolled back as he groaned. “You feel fucking amazing!”
“So do you,” Lucy purred. It was way better than any fantasy.
Natsu laid prone over her body, while Lucy crossed her ankles over his thighs for leverage, then started out slow with drawn-out hip thrusts as his hands caressed parts of her frame. His hand moved between her breasts and her rear, gripping or squeezing, sometimes her waist as their bodies moved in time with one another’s in a slow-dance of love making. Lucy’s core was still swollen and sensitive, so the slow grinding friction kept it on the brink of another burn out.
“Harder…” Lucy suddenly groaned between breaths. “Rougher, big boy…”
Although Natsu had wanted to make things last longer, Lucy’s enjoyment took center stage in his mind. If rough is what she wanted, so be it.
Natsu pushed up onto his knees and slipped out briefly to flip Lucy onto her stomach. “Get on your knees,” he commanded.
His heady deep voice sent a salacious shiver through Lucy’s body. Oh. Yes! She does as told, presenting her derrière with a little wiggle and a giggle.
It made him chuckle. He pressed his cock to Lucy’s rear as he leaned over, gripped her throat right under her chin and craned it up. Natsu then sucked at the nape of her neck hard, so hard, his canines almost broke the skin. Lucy gasped and a strained moan broke free. “Is this how you like it?” he whispered next to her ear.
“Yes…” she moaned.
“Aren’t you full of surprises,” he chuckled again. It’s always the quiet ones.
With one more chaste kiss to her neck, Natsu let go and sat back on his knees. He lined up his cock and forced his way in hard and fast until it could go no further. Lucy cried out at the harsh intrusion, and her fingers gripped tight to the bedding, using all her strength to hold herself up.
He dug his fingers into Lucy’s hips to hold her as steady as he could, then quickly launched his assault with long, deep, penetrating strides of his cock in and out of her entrance. The air filled with the smell of sweat and sex, mixed with the sounds of slapping skin as he pounded into her mercilessly. She’d bit down on her lip but couldn’t hold back her screams any longer. Her high-octave cries intertwined with his grunts.
But such heavy level sex meant for a short run. Every time Natsu tried to slow down, Lucy would take control, rocking back on her own volition to impale herself onto his cock. His grip was weakening and his eyes rolled back as he tried desperately to hold out. To no avail. “Lu… I can’t…” Natsu’s groans grew strained and higher in pitch. “I can’t…” He’s losing control and can’t maintain the momentum. So, Lucy again stepped into play and drove harder, wanting to see him lose it. Natsu’s body started to shake as he made his last stand, rocking his hips in quick, ragged thrusts through each pump of seed spilling out from him.
Once he’d been milked dry, he pulled out and pulled off the used condom before it slipped off on its own, then fell onto his butt on the bed breathing heavily. Lucy too dropped onto her stomach out of breath and weak kneed. He stumbled off the bed to drop the condom in a trash can, then returned and bundled Lucy against his side to ride out the exhaustion. Natsu kissed her temple. “Was it good for you?”
“Even better than I’d imagined.”

Greige: Hello, Mr Dragneel.
Natsu: *mock laughs* Hello, Mr Dragneel... What kind of fucking disgusting language is that!?
---
Greige: Can I take my coat off, Mr Dragneel?
Natsu: *points accusingly* HE'S STRIPPING OFF ALREADY!
---
Greige: Can I date your daughter, Mr Dragneel?
Natsu: *glaring at Greige innocently holding Nasha's hand* I know why you're here, pal! I know why you're fucking here... You're here for the very reason my daughter's here in the first place, so I FUCKING KNOW!"
---
Natsu: *can hear strange noise coming from Nasha's bedroom and goes to stand from the couch*
Lucy: Just leave them alone Natsu, and let 'em have a bit of fun.
Natsu: *hears the sound of kissing and proceeds to bolt up the stairs* Nope. Not a chance! I'm gonna kill him!

If you're still doing requests, how about one where Natsu climbs into Lucy's window after an exhausting job and climbs into bed with her, but instead of kicking him out, she whispers "Welcome home" and kisses his cheek.
Delicate blush curtains danced gently in the warm evening breeze. Outside, the city had drifted off to sleep, and the ambient hush of nighttime drifted in through the open window, a welcome lullaby. Lucy had just begun to fade to the world when a new sound joined that subtle melody, one that she recognized right away. This series of soft grunts were her only warning before Natsu finished climbing through the window and tumbled into bed with her.
“N-Natsu!” she exclaimed quietly as she shifted to the side to accommodate a new body in her bed. She immediately felt the heat radiate off him, an altogether pleasant sensation.
He moaned tiredly as soon as his head hit the pillow and mumbled, “Hi, Lucy…”
Eyes well-adjusted to the night, and with the full moon embracing them in its mild glow, Lucy leaned forward to inspect the dragon slayer. Dirt and faint traces of blood peppered his sweaty face, his pink locks lay in disarray, and he could barely keep his eyes open. Natsu turned his nose into the pillow for a moment and seemed to breath in its scent, his body releasing a layer of tension as he exhaled.
Lucy breathed out a soft sigh and smiled. “Wait here a sec,” she whispered and slid out from under the covers. One quick journey to the bathroom later, she returned with a damp washcloth, laid back down, and sidled up to face him. His eyes were closed, but he was still awake. Lucy reached forward and began to tenderly wipe the day’s grime from his face, starting on his forehead and slowly working down. Tension evaporated from his body with every moment of her touch. She continued to work as his jaw went slack and his breathing became inaudible. By the time she gently ran the cloth over his lips, she was sure he had fallen asleep, but at that moment his hand lifted, his fingers finding her arm. Natsu drowsily stroked her skin with a smile hinting at the corners of his mouth.
Joy flooded Lucy’s chest. She marveled at the idea that she ever saw her bed as anything but empty without him laying there next to her. The celestial wizard tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and leaned forward, pressing a kiss against his cheek. It was so, so warm. She let her lips linger there for a long moment before whispering in his ear:
“Welcome home.”

If you are still taking prompts…
dancing under the stars or kissing in the rain for NaLu please 🥰
How about dancing and a kiss in the rain? @mdot911 😌
“We need to hurry,” Natsu suddenly blurted out, “I smell rain coming.”
Lucy looked up at the sky. “Are you sure?” It had been gray for miles, but so far they’d been okay. “Because there’s nothing we can shelter under.”
And that’s when she heard it too, the sound like a thundering roar moving towards them. All the blood drained— A wall of water! “Oh, no!” Lucy shrieked as it hit. She covered her head with her hands, which did little. “Natsu, what do we do? We’re getting soaked!”
Natsu paused a moment before speaking up. He held out a hand to her. “Dance with me.”
“Are you crazy?!” Lucy shrieked again. Had he gone mad?! “You wanna dance? Now?!”
He shrugged and grinned. “Why not? Might as well have some fun.”
She hesitated a moment for this certainly was a silly idea. Dance… in the rain… what were they, five years old? But he was right, why not have some fun. Lucy shrugged, taking his hand as Natsu quickly pulled and spun her around, rendering her surprised. She giggled, “that’s new.”
Now dancing wasn’t exactly his forte, but they had danced before and as long as the steps were simple he could manage. At least this time they weren’t sent floating in the air! Plus… what Lucy didn’t know is Mira had secretly been giving him lessons because he wanted to surprise her.
“I’m full of surprises,” Natsu grinned and pulled her against his chest.
Lucy assumed a relaxed position, draping her arms around his neck, while Natsu rested his hands on her waist. Shifting feet and swaying hips, side to side to the drumming beat of the rain. With her close, he increased his body heat just enough to warm them. Lucy sighed dreamily at sharing such a precious moment with her best friend— a love of yet unrequited emotion. Only Natsu could bring about beauty in a rain storm.
“What was the sigh for?”
Her eyes drifted down while still holding a smile. “Oh, it’s nothing… just enjoying the moment,” Lucy answered.
Natsu pondered her response for a moment, his nose cueing in on a slight change to her scent and uptick in the pace of her heartbeat. “Lucy?”
“Yeah?”
He stopped swaying to lift her chin to face him.
Lucy’s eyes widened in curious uncertainty. “Natsu?”
An unspoken moment passed between them, eyes locked, searching… communicating something… Natsu cradled Lucy’s cheek, letting his thumb sweep over the moistened skin. Her breathing slowed as the warmth of his hand willed away the cold air. Her mouth left narrowly agape, he leant down slowly, lips ghosting hers. “I love you,” Natsu’s words whispered along her skin as he pressed forward and wrapped her in his arms.
A small whimper broke free from Lucy as Natsu stole not only her lips but soul with his kiss. His kiss… so gentle, yet fiery enough to render her senseless. Everything, the rain, the mission all fell away and all she could do is melt into his arms. It was all she’d ever dreamed it could be.
By the time the couple broke away from each other, the rain had slowed to a mist— not that they’d noticed, too busy still staring into each other’s eyes.
Lucy pressed her cheek fully into the hand Natsu still held to it, sighing dreamily again. “That… was a nice surprise,” she smiled.
He grinned, kissing her forehead before wrapping Lucy in a hug. Natsu rested his head against the side of hers. “And many more to come I’m sure…”

“I mean, Natsu…he has outbursts, and he’s kinda hard to work with sometimes…but I have no doubt that he’s been honest about who he really is deep down.”
“She’s totally fallen for him.”
“Seems like it.”
“Oh, grow up, would ya?!
He’s practically the reason I was able to join Fairy Tail in the first place. I’m grateful.”

For your prompt request I have two, pretty please!
“You can't be serious about sleeping on the floor" with Nalu and "brushing your lips together, lingering for a moment before crashing them together." with Twiyor.
First up Nalu!
To save money on their mission, it wasn’t uncommon for Natsu and Lucy to book one room, often only with a single bed. Why not, considering Natsu would break in to her apartment and crash on hers almost every night? She knew the most would happen was him hogging the bed, but that’s all.
“You can't be serious about sleeping on the floor!” Lucy questioned as Natsu began setting up his bedroll. She crossed her arms nervously. “Since when don’t you just crash on the bed?!”
“You always complain,” Natsu responded, “so I figured I’d let you have the whole bed tonight.” He shrugged. “What’s the big deal?”
What’s the big deal?! This wasn’t part of Lucy’s plan, that’s what! She’d purposely been booking one room, one bed on the last several missions hoping something more would happen. To no avail! He’d been a perfect gentleman!
“W-Well, it’s just… the floor is not very comfortable, and… um, well, you need to be in prime condition in case something happens.” Lucy rubbed her arms unconsciously. “So, sleeping on the floor will make you stiff.” Yeah. That sounds logical!
Natsu stood up and strolled closer… close enough that Lucy could feel the warmth of his body. “Are you saying you want me to sleep on the bed?” He leaned in more, letting his fingers brush against her crossed arms. “Because you’re really that worried I’ll get stiff? Or is there another reason?”
“I don’t know what you mean,” Lucy turned her face away, knowing her cheeks were on fire now.
At that moment, Natsu shrugged and turned to start fixing his bedroll.
Lucy groaned and pulled him back up. “Wait! Okay, fine! There’s more.”
“Oh?” Natsu’s brow raised.
“I want to cuddle with you…” Lucy mumbled.
“Sorry, I didn’t hear—”
“Oh, no mister dragon, you heard me!” Her ears burned with embarrassment. “So…” Lucy mumbled, “just sleep on the bed.”
Natsu smiled, and kissed her forehead. “Anything for you,” he murmured as he winked off camera…
He’d suspected all along…
