How did it end is such a quietly painful song. I feel like one of the worst parts of a breakup is when you're forced to explain why the relationship ended. This applies to both a brief and long relationship, but particularly if you've been together for a few years or more. You and those around you get used to the idea that this is forever, so when it ends, people's first reaction is to ask what happened. It's impossible to grieve and heal because you find yourself having to explain over and over why the relationship ended, digging up every possible emotion every time someone asks. Being asked how it ended might even be the most painful part, because you have to admit that it didn't work. It feels like a failure when a relationship you invested this much time in ends, and you feel like the butt of the joke for thinking this was forever.

In no way is this me being ungrateful for the amount of art she's just given us, but i think the problem with getting this many songs at once is that the melodies can start to blend together and become monotonous, the descriptive and poetic lyrics can start to feel clunky, and the magic starts to be lost. I absolutely know I'm going to love them all in the end, but having it all at once makes it hard to fully appreciate the intricate stories she wove together because you're just lost in the 31 tunes you just heard
