*SET WHEN KID WAS JUST STARTING OUT AS A PIRATE

warnings: maybe a tiny bit of angst?

as dusk settled upon the small town nestled in the plush hills ons the island, the docks were alight with excited souls, those belonging to rowdy, carefree, adventurous, violent pirates. footsteps thundered against the ground as they rushed about, carrying crates, boxes, a variety of stolen goods; there was a horse and a few animals that'd be gone a few days into the voyage, barrels were passed down the dock, nets and spears and the rest of an arsenal hauled by burly men looking more than equipped with enough experience to handle said weapons, and of course the large barrels of various alcohols, bottles themselves, and crates stocked with intoxicating drinks, were all walked down the dock to the awaiting ship.

there were two crews lugging the supplies around, exchaning smiles and laughs, drinks- after almost 2 years sailing together, it was time to go their seperate ways. a few men had taken refuge in the bar nearby, leaning against each other laughing and reminiscing about the adventures they'd shared. tears were shed, and as dusk grew darker, you could find them saying farewell.

and as the crew loaded onto the ship, standing at the railings waving at the other crew, the captains were drowning. the captain of the boat that'd be staying ashore one more night, leaned his broad frame against the splintering wood of an old store, worn unrecognizable by years of weather, pirates, marines, and simple time. as y/n met him against the wall, the crew could see that their captains' relationship had changed, worn unrecognizable by years of pirates, marines, and simple time. y/n stared up at him blankly, with adrenaline already coursing through their veins at the thought of abandoning everything known and discovering a new horizon. the moonlight painted the scene romantic, or dreamlike. two impossibly young people, with hearts filled with rage and craving and spirit, with eyes glued to the horizon, with souls screaming at the thought of freedom, stared at each other like they didn't know who the other was.

"so.. uhm, i'm gonna go." y/n said, with lack of better words. kid nodded, mumbling an incoherent response; and with everything left unspoken, y/n turned around and walked down the dock.

my the time the young captain reached a blank horizon, with stars scattered across the ocean, they could barely remember everything from the past two years, or even before that. like everything had been drempt, by a hopeless wanderer, yearning for someone to join them.

i didn't get carried away i promise

drunken, slurred lyrics filled the old bar; accompanied by the loud pounding of boots against the tables, bar, and floor. it was one of those nights, when everything feels perfect- you're free, powerful, and in love. it's almost euphoric.

sitting at one of the tables in the middle of the crowded, boisterous room, was the captain. the man you loved with all of your heart, and on his thigh, you sat happily. the redhead had his flesh arm wrapped around your waist, in the other hand he held a large mug of whatever the crew had gotten so energetic with- but kid was perfectly happy sitting down with you. the grin on his face expressed more happiness than malice, for once, and you could see that this is how he wanted to live.

looking up at him, almost having to peek over his broad chest, you beamed with admiration, careless to the teasing that was no doubt being thrown around. it seemed that at least one of the taunts had reached kid, because his chest rumbled with a chuckle before he looked down at you.

"what're you staring at?" he asked with a smirk, bright, fiery eyes locking with yours; they appeared filled with madness, but how else could kid love?

"please don't leave me, kid." you said, maintaining the twinkle in your smile despite the melancholia of your question. a pout formed on the captain's lips and a wrinkle in his brow.

"why're you saying that?" he asked, voice, laced with confusing. you simply continued to smile at him, though your eyes grew softer, more sentimental, as you stared into the burning timbers of his eyes. after a shared moment of silence, kid set down his cup and rested his mechanical hand on the table; then, turning slightly in the chair, he pulled you closer and ducked his head down, capturing your lips in his.

a series of whistles and cheers erupted throughout the bar. kid pulled away but tucked his chin next to your ear.

"i'd never leave you." he whispered gruffly, pulling away with red dusting his cheeks. slipping his legs out from under the table, he pushed the chair back a bit and propped his feet on the table, and theen grabbing your legs, he positioned you bridal style on his lap.

you settled your cheek against the warm skin of broad chest, placing your hand over his on your waist. the bar was alight with cheeers and whistles. one of the men raised his mug, with a booming voice he called for a cheers. the rowdy group of men cheerfully raised their mugs, and with a cackle and the menace returning to his eyes, kid picked his up.

sitting in one of the many luxurious items of furniture filling the palace of dressrosa, doflamingo sat with his signature coat discarded on the couch to the left of the chair. clad in only his white satin pajama pants, he brought the bottle of wine to his lips repeatedly until it looked like he wore smudged lipstick.

the door made an abnormaly loud creak when you opened it, most likely amplified by the quietness of the room doffy sat in. the glowing lights of dressrosa just managed to peak in through the window with the moon, casting light across the broad chest of doflamingo. he would have appeared to have not noticed you coming in, but you knew better than to think that. you silently slipped into the room and closed the door, walking across the room until you reached where doffy sat.

one of his arms rested just anough on the arm rest that you could see he had left room for you. you climbled in to his lap carefully, settling back against his warm chest. you peered up at him with a blank expression. doffy turned down to you, scowling and taking another sip of wine.

"doffy, please don't leave me." you whispered. at this, the blond stopped mid drink and removed the bottle from his lips. his face softened and he wore an unreadable expression. doffy had never thought he'd need to hear that, but just as you said it he felt a small piece of that heavy chain around his heart, fall away. a warmth blossomed in his chest and a lump in his throat. he lowered his head more, bringing his forehead against yours.

throught the glassess, you couldn't see his eyes, but you could feel them boring in to you. he gently rubbed his forehead against yours, before grabbing your feet that hung off the chair and swinging them over his lap. with your head resting agaisnt his shoulder, and his chin moved to the crown of your head, his lengthy arms encircled your figure and he finally found sleep.

kid was drunk in his workshop again, not for any particular reason, everyone had just been drinking

but kid is now drunk AND sleepy, so in you come padding over to stand behind him

he glanced up when he heard the door enter and his eyes tiredly followed you across the room

you threw your arms over his shoulders from behind and put your chin on his shoulder nuzzling against his neck until he turned his head to look down at you

“hi babe.” he said

“hi sweetie, you comin to bed?”

kid grunted in response, meaning yes basically, but stayed put staring down at you

after a few minutes of silence, during which you had turned your head on his shoulder to look down at the confusing trinkets on his desk, kid dropped (carelessly leaned) his head against yours

you felt his body relax as he let out a sigh, and you brought your hand up to his broad chest where you started to lightly trace swirls on the warm skin

doffy lounged sprawled out on one of the many lush couches he had in the palace, listening to a group of underlings talk about who knows what- he’d stopped listening by then

he heard the familiar sound of your heels and a grin quickly spread across his face as he saw you enter the room

he reached out one of his arms and made a grabby motion for you, and you walked over and crawled on top of him

he had his head resting on one of his arms behind his head, the other idly cupped the back of your head

with your finger tip you traced random things onto doflamingo’s skin, the warmth of his body comforting you and lulling you to sleep when paired with the droning of his underlings as they kept talking despite both you and doffy falling asleep together

ignoring the snores, crashing of waves, and occasional sleep talking whispers from the others, the boys cabin was silent

you could just barely make out the silhouette of your boyfriend who’d been asleep for hours already

one of his arms was tightly wound around your waist and had yet to move even after hours, holding you directly on top of zoro while he slept

your hand mindlessly swept back and forth over zoro’s chest which rose and fell almost mezmerizingly under your fingertips

in the calm atmosphere of the room your eyelids drooped again as zoro subconsciously pulled you even closer against him and his chin fell to rest on the crown of your head

knowing of ace's past, and current thoughts of himself, a whitebeard had refused to let his son be alone at a tiime like this, not only that but he knew what it was like to lose someone so close to you

so the two, father and son, sat on the deck of their grand ship as the stars shined brightly overhead and a faint wind swept over the area, the two sipped idly on their sake

as a shooting star crossed the sky, whitebeard called ace's name and the young boy looked up at him, to find him staring straight ahead with an unfamiliar look of uncertainty

ace looked across the deck and his cup clattered to the floor spilling the contents onto the wood, a lump appeared in his throat as the familiar figure of his lover formed in a shimmering fog-like state across the deck

tears quickly spilled over ace's eyes and he let out a choked breath before he stood up and dashed across the deck towards y/n, throwing open his arms as they smiled brightly at him, only to pass right through them

ace froze, and waited a moment before turning around and facing the very same illusion in the very same place, he slowly circled around until he was facing them once again

"hi sweetheart." y/n said sweetly, corners of their mouth turning up in a smile,

"y/n, w-what are you- why-.... i missed you."

"awh i missed you to my love, how are you doing?"

"i- not- not good. i miss you so much-" ace let out a choked sob as his face cracked into a grimace and his shoulder dropped significantly.

"i can't do this without you, y/n." he breathed out, tears cascaded down his freckled cheeks and whitebeard (who'd been silently observing from his chair) felt his heart squeeze a little more at the look of hurt on his young son's face

y/n's smile fell warmer, "i'm sorry my love, i didn't mean for this to happen- but sometimes that's just what happens in life."

ace sniffled and nodded quickly, and y/n opened their arms for him, remembering the first time, ace moved closer slowly and placed his arms around the air of the figure, feeling that he would slip right through, and y/n's arms closed around him like wind embracing him

"ace, my love, don't ever forget how much i love you. take your time now, love- you'll see me again when you're done."

ace nodded again, and before he knew what happened, the luminescent figure had disappeared, ace's head dropped along with his arms, and he stared blankly down at the floor

it was whitebeard who broke the silence, "ace, son, come here." the freckled boy turned around slowly and looked up at his father with puffy eyes and wet cheeks, and the old man patted his knee with his own eyes shinning slightly in the moonlight

ace hurried over to the man and climbed onto his lap, feeling whitebeard place his large hand on his back covering almost the entirety of it, he let himself fall against his captains chest as a whimper left him and his sobs began

as ace cried against whitebeard's chest, the old man let a tear slip past his walls as he realized a chapter of ace's story had finished before he wrote the last sentence

a chill rippled through the air of the room where in law sat with the bear that refused to desert him for the past few hours, and upon seeing the captain shiver, bepo suggested they go to bed

law felt his heart tighten even at those meaningless words, and he sighed into his hands that he rested on.

"just a little longer, bepo." he said, and swallowed the lump in his throat. a few moments passed before another sound was heard, bepo's gasp

"c-captain..." law mumbled as response, but when bepo repeated his name a few more times as the bear was heard shuffling to his feet, the doctor looked up and felt his heart drop to his stomach.

before him, a shimmering image of a late friend stood in front of him, a serene expression painted on there face as they looked across the desk at law, who was at eye level even when sitting.

"hi baby." y/n's lavender laced voice rang through the room and a choked sob came from the bear standing paralyzed near the door.

"y/n-ya." was all that law could say,

"why are you so sad, dear? it's been almost a year already."

bepo's ragged breathing filled the room again, law stared in awe at the scene in front of him as y/n reached out slowly and cupped law's cheek, like a light wind was blown on law's cheek and remained there, law's breath came out in a visible cloud and the blurry figure leaned in closer over the desk.

"cheer up, my love, let me see that smile i love so much." y/n's smile widened, and law could feeling his heart being torn apart, as he couldn't find it in himself to do anything but stare blankly ahead at the figure.

y/n's eyes turned upwards into cresents as their face melted into pure admiration, they leaned forward and touched their lips lightly to law's nose, pulling away and casting a glance at bepo andsoftly saying "take care of him for me, bepo." before their eyes returned to law, and then melted away following the rest of their body

it was suddenly unbearably quiet, and bepo approached his scarily silent captain, biting his lip to silence his own anguish, and he placed his hand on his shoulder

"let's go to bed captain."

..... "just a little longer..." he murmered, staring at the now empty space.

upon hearing y/n's voice once again, closer this time, his eyes snapped open and he slowly lifted his head off the back of the armchair and stared at the translucent silhouette a few feet away

"what are you doing here?" he groggily mumbled, scowling and wiping away the tears falling down his cheeks

"i came to see my love."

doffy's face contorted in anguish and he inhaled sharply. y/n quickly crossed the room and gingerly placed their hand on the blonde's shoulder

within seconds his large hand grabbed onto y/n's smaller one and he stared up at them. they removed his glasses so as to see him better, and his tear filled scarlet eyes stared up at y/n with guilt and anger, and finally after keeping himself tightly wound for months, the man broke,

"i'm so sorry.... i'm so sorry i couldn't protect you!" he yelled, with snot running from his nose and his eyes puffy and rimmed with red, he held y/n's hand to his mouth and firmly pressed his lips to it

"doffy, my beloved, you did everything you could. you have to stop blaming yourself darling, you have to start living again... forget about me, my love. it's time for you to say goodbye."

"no, no it's not. y/n it's too early for you to leave. we have so much more we have to do."

with his eyes shut tightly, doflamingo held their hand against his lips so harshly that as his lips split into a grimace his teeth pressed against... his hand

doflamingo moved his fingers around, searching for something to grab onto, though he knew he wouldn't find what he was looking for

so he covered his mouth with his hand, desperately trying to tell himself he could still smell them, that he could still feel them, that they were still there, that he hadn't killed yet another person he loved, that he wasn't alone again

I know you did one of the monster trio sneaking into their s/o's bed, but what if its the other way around?

there'd rarely be time where you'd have to do this, if you're not in bed or sleeping wherever with luffy, then he literally sleepwalks to you

if you do sneak into the cabin, it's very very hard to make enough noise to wake luffy up, sanji on the other hand might wake up

you can throw luffy off the bed and he wouldn't wake up, which is why when you move his limbs to crawl into his arms, he moves like a noodle until he feels you with him and his arms close like a bear trap

then he rolls over a bit and you're left with your face smushed against his chest or cheek, and drool everywhere from the shoulders up

if he is by some chance awake or you do wake him up, it's "oh, y/n?" and then he reaches his arms across the room and yanks you into bed, but this does tend to end up with you being hurled against luffy's chest and the. both of you slamming into the wall waking up almost everyone else

there is the occasion, sadly it's not too rare, where luffy has ptsd and night terrors from marineford and specifically ace, if you sneak into his bed because of this, or you sneak in while it's happening,

luffy won't wake up but when you wrap his arms around you he subconciously knows it's you and starts to calm down, petting his hair and scratching his back are also great solutions

if he does wake up then he turns whatever position you're in, into him holding you tightly against him, "i promise i won't let anyone hurt you."........."please don't leave me".....

there's still only a few times you won't be sleeping together, and zoro really doesn't care if you sneak into his bed

he's very hard to wake

usually you'll go up to the crows nest and find him asleep against the wall, chances are you brought a blanket and maybe a pillow

sometimes you'll maneuver him so he's laying down, then you'll scootch under the blanket yourself and zoro's arms instinctively find their way around your body and hold you protectively against him

other times you'll just sit down on his lap and his arms will once again encircle your waist

if you sneak into the cabin to sleep with him the few times he's actually in his hammock, then it's basically the same thing as crows nest

now if he's awake still for either of these settings, he'll just open his arms and let you snuggle up to him, he won't move if he's in the crows nest, he'll just lay down on top of you to keep you from trying to leave or drag him to an actual bed

in the cabin he'll lift the covers for you and stay still ((frozen because he's still not used to this)) while you get comfortable on him

if he's asleep when you sneak in, it always always ends up with him waking in the morning with his arm unconsciously tightening around you or his hand stroking your hair or back, and it takes him a few minutes before he realizes you're there and he's doing that

"WHY ARE YOU HERE???"

again slim chance you're not already sleeping with him

he's fairly easy to wake up, and he almosst always wakes up as you're getting under the covers but he protests nothing at all

he'll wake up, "y/n-chan? what are you doing here? is something wrong??"

he's always ecstatic when you tell him you just want to sleep with him, he just moves the covers for you and scoots over so you have room, once you're in he always comments on how cold your feet are and puts his feet on them to warm them up,,,, omg so cliche and sweet sanji i love you for today

usually he'll wake up and freak the hell out when he realizes you're there, and he's absolutely murderous if someone wakes you up before he does his routine of kisisng your cheeks, nose, eyelids, shoulder, hands, and lips, and possibly humming or singing to you

-I can’t really figure out/say whether he gets jealous or protective more often

-But on things for sure: he is a petty salty baby

-When he sees someone flirting with you he’ll act out two ways, he’ll stay leaning against a surface with an angry pout, or he’ll go and throw his arm around your shoulders and land a big SMOOCH on your cheek

-The most common thing he does is pout, could be angry, could be sad, you'll look over and notice him pouting and you quickly excuse yourself because how could you ignore that face

-Usually all it takes is kisses and hand holding and some "I love you"s

-he's often more of an observer, if whoever is taking your attention is under his jurisdiction or whatever, then sabo finds an excuse and sends him off somewhere

-or he'll do the pout thing until you go over or he's called away

-omg one time you were talking to another guy and sabo walked past with koala, he did that double take thing from cartoons and glared at the other man, koala had to literally drag him away by the collar because they had work to do

-he gets protective most of the time, he knows you can handle yourself but he can't help it, he's just naturally a protective person when it comes to the people he cares about

-in a situation where he gets protective, he'll place himself in front of you or behind the threat and it's usually easy enough when they see him because they know who he is

-let's be honest.. the crew flirts with you quite a bit ((and whitebeard finds it hilarious)) just because it messes with ace

-usually all he can do is watch and pout, or drag you away from the rowdy men, he get's a bit flustered because he doesn't want to fight his family but it's soo annoying and angering

-things he'll do when he's jealous because of someone that's not the crew, include kissing you, literally squeezing you against his chest like you're a plushy, throwing his arm around the shoulder of the other guy and grinning at him as he tells him to fuck off

-you don't actually have to do much or anything, ace just kisses you and you're good, unless it was a little more serious then he demands cuddles

-he can get quite insecure and we all know his reasoning, but he's not the "i'll just let them go type" he doesn't want to let you go

-it's never because he's insecure, i mean..

-he gets jealous when you show attention to someone else, whatever gender or sexual orientation, literally anyone

-sometimes he'll be off with a group of his admirers fawning over him and he'll look over at you and see you talking to another guy, his mood changes instantly and he stalks over with an unusual frown and pulls you away or makes it very clear you're dating him

-but he also tends to stay near you most of the time, despite his ego and love of being admired and surrounded by fans, he's very lovey dovey with you and prefers to hold you most of the time wherever he is ((he also just likes showing you off #powercouple))

-he'll also call you over away from a conversation and tilt to your chin up and give you a prolonged tender kiss making sure the man you were talking to sees this

Honestly it wasn't on purpose, you were just thinking about a conversation you had with someone at the town you had recently went to, you forgot his name and were tryng to figure it out by repeating different ones

It's just that thing when you're thinking of one thing but you're trying to say something completely different-- and it never works out

You were in the kitchen after dinner, getting wine glasses, when it happened

You were trying to ask what type of wine Mihawk wanted for the night, but it ended up as "Mitchell what type of wine do you want tonight?!"

you thought for a moment, before realizing what had happened and quickly explaining it

"you mean morio?" mihawk asked, remembering the correct name of the man, "yes! that's it!"

mihawk hummed and stepped forward making you back against the counter, he took your chin in his hand and pressed his lips to yours tenderly

when you pulled away he pressed a kiss to your forehead, then grabbed the wine glasses on the counter behind you, and curled his arm around your waist as he pulled you out of the kitchen

omg could you have made a bigger mistake (i mean you could have actually cheated on him but that's besides the point)

doffy is quite touchy, so while you were deeply immersed in a book on one of the lavish pink sofas, pinky here decided to crawl up and trail his hand up from your thigh, littering your chest and neck in kisses as you whined and tied to push him off

"dolorosa stop!" ((omg it's kinda like dressrosa lol))

he stopped mid kiss, like his lips were still against your neck, he pulled away slowly and glared down at you while you looked up with wide eyes already realizing it

i dont' want to make this too long so heres a short summary, it took awhile for you to convince doffy because despite how confidant he is in himself he's never that confident with relationship because of what he's experienced

loyalty is one of the BIGGEST things for him, you were eventually able to prove it was just the book character, but it'll take him awhile to have the same confidence in your relationship as before

we're using an actual character for this one because there's so many on the crew

you had just finished talking to marco about something when ace tackled you in the hallway with a hug and started kissing up your neck and tickling your sides

however you were still thinking of your convo with marco so you called "marco! stop!"

it took ace a minute but when he realized it he stopped, whispering "why'd you say 'marco'?"

as much as you tried to explain to him that it wasn't anything, you ended up on his back trying to pull him back as he stomped out onto the deck where everyone was and confronted marco

as a warning, you had yelled "marco look out he thinks i'm cheating on him with you!!" and marco was ready and surprisingly wasn't that surprised

it did however take whitebeard asking "would marco ever do something like that to you, ace? and would y/n ever do something like that?"

"..no.."

he's so pouty, everyone is laughing their asses off and ace is smushing you against himself demanding kisses because this is your fault 😤

i don't know you could cry out of something other than pleasure from this man,,

he pays very close attention to your reactions because he wants to know what makes you feel good as well as what makes you feel bad

so he notices right away when your tears aren't from pleasure but from pain, and he immediately frezes, he doesn't pull out right away though because he's worried that would hurt if he did it too abruptly

"darling? what's wrong? where does it hurt?"

he'll ask what happened and where you're hurting, before telling you he's going to pull out (like 'i'm going to pull out now, okay?")

once he's out he sits up and pulls you up a bit to lean against his chest, he whispers apologies over and over again while he kisses your cheeks and carefully wipes away your tears

poor man will probably tear up himself

needless to say he falls asleep far too late and pampers you more than usual for the next week, and he's not as hyper with his sexual comments or anything around that topic, it's really unusual

similar to sanji, law pays very close attention to your reactions and body language, though it tends to be more for making sure he's not hurting you

he can get quite rough sometimes, and he gets a little into it, like closing his eyes, but when he hears your sniffle which somehow reaches him over your whines and his grunts and all that nasty sinner shit (amen) he stops and stares down at you

your face is turned away so he carefully turns it towards him and instantly slides himself out, he hurries to turn on the lamp and lights (while buttnaked i might add)

he'll do a full on examination asking you where it hurts and taking a little peak to make sure it's nothing bad, he ends up grabbing a warm cloth and placing it on your area while he runs a bath

he's fairly hesitant to do anything beyond making out for the next day or maybe two, if not that then he's extremely gentle and makes sure to listen a little closer just in case your sounds aren't from pleasure

he goes pretty hard most of the time, and unlike the two men above, he doesn't always pay the most attention to whether or not you're enjoying it- only because he's to lost in his own pleasure most of the time

once he realized you're hurting, he slows down a bit to make sure, then he full on freaks out and pulls out before reaching out and cupping your face

he's very against sex for the next few days, like scolding you if you try to initiate it and reminding you of what happened, but he also buys you flowers at the next village because he's a sweety pie

he's sort of like zoro in the situation where he's a little too lost in his own pleasure, except he actually asks every few minutes if you're okay

when he hears you say no it takes a minute to register but then he stop and stumbles while trying to pull out

honestly i'm contemplating saying he'll go get marco

he won't even need you to tell him anything, he'll rush off and run around the ship grabbing a hot cloth, a water, some food, and a random collection of pill bottles from the infirmary

he finds the painkillers/tylenol/benadryl or whatever and gives you some, and then he puts the cloth on and gives you a snack and then curls up beside you feeding you the rest of the food (taking some for himself aswell obvi)

the sweet man looks like a kicked puppy the whole time and will not hesitate to cuddle with his hand down there with strictly innocent intents as you use it as a heating pad

((honestly tho he may or may not have asked one of the crew members for advice as he ran around the ship)) ((and mostly cried a tiny bit as he did so))
