The thing about the x files is it's not about aliens and cryptids and such. It's about wanting to believe. That's the famous phrase. Not 'i believe'. Just 'i want to believe'. It's about hoping there's something out there we don't know. Hoping there are new things to discover. It's about wanting to let go of whatever is making you afraid and letting yourself be seen as crazy, weird, strange if it means that you believe in something.

That scene in beyond the sea when scully yells at boggs that if mulder dies because of him, then she'll happily be the one to throw the switch. But then by the end he asks her to be a witness to his death and she declines ughhhh god this show is killing me softly.
