The Prison of the Comfort Zone
Our life is full of challenges. Everyday we encounter stressful situations, there’s something new and unexpected just behind the corner and humans as we are, the unknown makes us unsure and triggers our inner fear. Our confidence steps back to make room for the innate self-protection instincts.
The moment that a challenge starts making us feel uncomfortable is the moment we reach the borders of our so-called comfort zone.
Tumblr media
Comfort zone is nothing but a bunch of limits that our sensitivity is trying to trick us with. We enter a self-defence mode trying to avoid the incoming stress. Our body is programmed this way, we follow our pre-historical mindset of ‘run for your life, be comfortable, be safe, be relaxed’.
Today, however, we’re not endangered by dinosaurs waiting to snack with us, we’re not at war and basically there is no need for us to run for our lives. Today the heroes aren’t the ones to fight with enemies and to show no fear in the battlefield.
Today’s heroes show no fear in the lifefield, they challenge their comfort zones in order to achieve more.
We all know that being confident is powerful. It’s winning, it’s classy, it’s sexy. But how is that confidence built? It’s built by practice.
Confidence = comfort
Believe me, no one feels confident when trying something for the first time. Every first, second, ninth time doing something new and challenging is scary. You need to go over your fears, to kinda dive into them letting yourself find the way out of there. It’s messy but slowly and surely it’s become more clear the more you dig in, just like a math study. The more you do it the better you become. The more you do it, the more comfortable, the more confident you become.
And just like that the once scary isn’t that scary anymore. The thing that before appeared impossible is now pleasant. The situation that brought us so much stress is now trilling and appealing. The stressful once is now a cause of pride and the things we’ve run from now we run towards.
Just a small step, a bit of self determination and patience and we’ve crossed that comfort zone borders. Once that battle is won, oh, that’s when real life full of possibilities begins.
The ‘comfort zone abusing’ is like a drug.
You want more and more and you achieve more and more. All it takes is to push yourself once and never forget the feeling.

How To ! Get Rid of Depression - Trick III
Today I’ll share with you one trick that could really help out those of you who feel overwhelmed with work. I know that the feeling of the ticking clock that’s chasing you really sucks so that’s what you can do to ease the situation.
Wake up early!
Tumblr media
I know it sounds the opposite of easing any tension at all but actually turns out very helpful.
When you wake up early and with early I mean earlier than the rest of the people in the office, your mind kinda gets the feeling of achieving something and being ahead. Aside from the bunch of satisfaction gained, you also feel motivated which leads to more work done.
There is nothing better than the still empty office. It’s quiet, no one bugs you for anything different from the tasks you’ve planned to complete. Trust me, it’s powerful, you feel energized and your mind works better, you’re focused, you’re not distracted and you’re motivated - what better combo could there be?
The only thing you need to do is to fight the moment of waking up and right after that you can fully enjoy the feeling of being ahead of the others.
P.S. And the traffic is way better, no nerves, no jam! =)

How To ! Get Rid of Depression - Trick II
...or the little things that can lighten up your day
I’m sure everyone has had one of these hard periods when you have too much to do and you don’t exactly love the kind of stuff that’s on your head. It seems forever, you’re so not motivated but still you have no choice except to keep going.
It feels like a long long dark tunnel, doesn’t it? This is how the depression could start.
To help yourself in such situations you can always use a bunch of little tricks that will give you strength to keep going until the dark age is over.
Today I’ll share with you one of the most powerful ones in my “how to survive sucky moments” list.
Give yourself moments of simple pleasures.
Believe it or not these moments are really really helpful. Even if you’re super busy - let yourself recharge a bit, the 15 minutes you invest will pay back, just make sure you do it all in the right way without rushing yourself. Try really hard not to think about your sucky day during your relaxing moments, think of the beach, that holiday that you’ve planned or how you’re gonna plant flowers on your balcony.
What really works for me is making myself a cup of hot coffee, let's say on a cold autumn day /it would ideally rain/. To get my mind cleared I sit on my terrace bench, all covered up with a warm blanket. I read or write, sometimes I talk with a friend on the phone /friends could really soothe you sometimes/. An aroma candle is on and I let the fresh cold air to restart my body and my mind while the coffee and the blanket make me feel cosy. You can try this with music too, for example - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LjBLiMm-0lc

You’ll thank me later!

How To ! Get Rid of Depression - Trick I
When the winter just doesn’t want to go away…
Tumblr media
You know that moment when it’s already April, you are sick and tired of wearing that heavy coat and boots and this new spring dress you bought is hanging helplessly in the wardrobe while the snow outside just doesn’t stop and it feels like singing Christmas songs instead of celebrating Easter. It’s sad and annoying, yes, you get angry because IT HAS to be spring, but IT ISN'T and it feels endless. It’s grey when it has to be sunny, it’s cold when it has to be spring-dress-warm. It’s like… someone has taken something away from you and it’s so dishonest and unfair! And still you can’t do anything about it so you’re left with your sad sad thoughts.
Being angry, annoyed, disappointed, helpless and hopeless - that’s depression all the way.
It doesn’t have to be the weather, it could be your job, your relationship, a bad event or just no reason at all - depression comes with many faces.
I tend to be really vulnerable towards depression, it gets to me so easy out of the smallest thing. I get moody and I get mean, which is disgusting because the people around me never deserve it. I realise that, of course usually late, so, being an organized person and a planner I tried to find out ways to prevent my stormy periods.
I’ve found out a lot of tricks, however I’ll share with you the best one which actually came from a friend of mine:
When feeling down in the dark, when it seems that there is no way out and when you feel hopeless remember - EVERYTHING IS JUST A PERIOD THAT WILL PASS.
Keep repeating this to yourself when you’re at the end of your patience, you have no strength anymore or the snow outside doesn’t want to stop. Life is a circle and after the bad there is always light. The sun is there to come.
P.S. I always think of this song when I find myself in a bad period, try it out =) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NaGLVS5b_ZY

The Little Things That Matter in The Persuit of Success - PART V
Everything in life is an interaction.
Being social animals we face new people constantly. Wherever there is more than one person the need of communication pops up immediately and interactions come in the way - good, bad, friendship or competition, hate, love, lust or any other kind of relationship that defines us as humans. As a part of the society everything we do depends on our interactions - our personal life, our career, how will we raise our children, if we will have a lot of friends or will we be liked by our neighbours - everything from A to Z. With that being said /or written/ it’s really really strange why people neglect the importance of interactions or usually realise it when it’s too late.
The truth is that we should treat our communication with the rest of the world as a job interview or a deal that we expect to bring us great income. After all, the great new job that we want to have is a result of the interactions we create during the interview.
Interactions could be verbal or non-verbal, both extremely important in building our image in the mind of the person we’re communicating with. How the other side sees us is crucial to the way they’re gonna treat us. Are you going to be the always joking clown that no one takes seriously nevermind how intelligent or educated we are, how clever or how high in the hierarchy or the one everybody trusts, respects and feels like holding up to, oh well, that depends on the image we create ourselves in the eyes of the others.
What others see when they look at us depends on what we tend to show them and how convincing we are.
Tumblr media
To create and keep a good image, above everything else, we need to be focused and calm.
Be focused
First and a must - invest time in reviewing the situation. Think about the big picture - what person are you gonna deal with, what are the possible options and possibilities, what are the side factors that can affect your interaction. Weight the final result and the outcome you expect out of the whole deal. Having a plan clears your mind and lightens your thoughts letting you concentrate on the execution later.
The most important thing when planning something is not to get lost in the small details. Go from the big picture to the small picture, get the whole situation and the result up all the time and only after that start separating the steps and phases. Getting too detailed in the beginning can end up with you losing the right direction at all.
Being focused and counting all the details gives you confidence, a feeling of doing something in a professional way, let's call it a feeling of perfection. Be focused before, during and after the interaction, listen to the other person and use the information you receive.
Be calm
Calm people always seem more trustable. Being calm brings with itself some feeling of mystery and respect that could help you nevermind if you’re dealing with potential contragent, an enemy or you’re just flirting in the bar. Stay confident and look relaxed in the situation, show the other side that you’re in control even if your heart rate is sky high and you feel like trembling.
The most important thing here - stick to your image. The whole idea will be ruined if you are that calm and confident person at once and after that the emotions burst out.
Be sure that calm & focused combo could lead you far. Start training yourself, you can do it all the time - plan the way you communicate with your children or your partner. Think about how the things you say make them feel and how the way you talk and express yourself make you look. Start immediately, you will be surprised how satisfied you will be with the result.
Your better self is there to grow!

The Little Things That Matter in The Pursuit of Success - PART IV
It’s action time!
Tumblr media
Standing on the start line of your race to success you are eager to get going. Now you know what you want, you’ve measured it’s value and now you’re 100% sure it’s worth the fight. Also, you have your plan of how to get there with all the breaches and the specifics of the track that you could use in your benefit. The time is ticking and so the journey should begin.
After you’ve made all the necessary preparation for your pursuit of success your mind is cleared and your way seems sunny and ordered. Thanks to the time you’ve invested in precising your goal and creating the map to get it you’ve now become way more focused and endeavour compared with a lot of other competitors. The risk of wasting time in going back and forth due to the fact that you haven't really created a good idea of what exactly is that you want is minimised and now you can push all your energy into the steps to success.
Usually people are most motivated at the beginning, nevermind if they are actually prepared for what’s ahead. Sadly, the truth is that motivation isn’t a constant, but a variable. Saying that, one of the most important things you must know when fighting for your prize is:
How to turn the motivation from a variable to a constant?
Indeed, it’s extremely hard to wake up equally motivated every day. A lot of daily events affect our motivation levels constantly trying to turn the inspiration off. I believe that this is the reason for most of the people not to be successful, they just can’t handle keeping themselves motivated nevermind what. I also believe that you can learn the skill of self-motivating.
At the start everything is like a fairytale. Not even started the fight for the prize, people tend to already celebrate it. This is actually something good, because it’s a motivation driver. However, this peak is somehow delusive. People who have taken the time of figuring out a clear version of their dream and the way to reach it are in a better position just past that point, because after all they have taken into consideration what awaits them. They have an idea of the ups and downs, of the biggest challenges and the points they may use better. If you’ve put yourself into these steps here you’ll experience the great benefits of it versus the people who have skipped that part. Because, you know, like in every fight there are always breaches.
It won’t be easy.
You have to be prepared that the way will be bumpy. Yes, I’ve heard there are people who have got lucky or somehow miraculously have reached success without any problem on the way. Still, usually it doesn’t work that way and you may face the one of maybe many difficulties right away.
The bumps on the road are really heart-breaking. Especially if you haven’t planned they’re gonna be there. Here, the unprepared people mostly crash and give up, because not having these details in mind /or on map/ they are totally unprepared for how to deal with them. You face the unknown problem of which you ain’t got any idea how to deal with after the start, meaning that you now have to deal with a basic problem while you keep going as planned. This is usually overwhelming and imagine how complicated it may be if there are other parties included, for example if someone has to wait for your decision while you’re doing your best to handle other problems which need your attention. It’s disappointing and, well, not professional, and most importantly very very demotivating. So do yourself a favour and don’t start unprepared, the risk is not worthed.
Let’s say you’ve prepared and facing that difficulty doesn’t throw you into an unnecessary panic. You have your plan for dealing with the topic and the time management to deal with both ‘keep going to success’ and ‘eliminate that breach’ at the same time. Still, sometimes there are things that don’t really happen as planned and you should be prepared for that. The solvation of the problem may take longer or to require other means and help, or additional planning.
Don’t panic! Concentrate!
Why staying calm and focused is something that you should keep all the way to the top and how it will help you tremendously? I can’t wait to share with you next time.
Stay tuned for PART IV of the article!

The Little Things That Matter in The Pursuit of Success - PART II
Here we are, figured out our goal and ready to attack the real-deal race in the pursuit of happiness. At that point a lot of people get eager not to waste time and push themselves straight into the wild without having even a scratch of an idea how to get from A to Z or in other words how exactly go fulfil the wish they’re going after.
This is a mistake.
Think about it like a simple real-life situation. You’ve heard about that really good new coffee shop you’ve heard of from a friend of yours. You are eager to get there as soon as possible so you can have that super special coffee sample before the others and afterwards have the whole day for yourself. You get somewhere near the place that your friend has mentioned and then … yes, maybe it was the previous street you should have turned into, but now this one is blocked so you have to go two more ahead and then turn. After some more drifting and nerves you decide to call your friend for directions, but well, he doesn’t pick up the phone. Bad luck. You continue searching. Finally you find it and in the same moment your friend picks up the phone but then - ‘Closed’! Ah only if you had checked up the info before that and just used the GPS for the exact track…
What’s the important tip behind this coffee story - creating a plan for gaining something or reaching some place is good and it’s usually a big time saver.
Create a map before you start your journey to success. It is like an investment of time which has a postponed value.
Tumblr media
Yes, at first you may see the backs of the competition rushing ahead with only a draft of what they’re gonna do. The most important thing here is not to get panicked of the time wasting, take a deep breath and think about the road to success, how it could be optimized, what are the breaches you may find along it and how to avoid them. Five minutes of location and opening hours check in the story above could have saved one hour of mistaken streets, some gas and the disappointment of looking into the ‘Closed’ board of the person above or...
… being organized could save you time, money and bad feelings along the way.
Being organized is beneficial. There will always be someone who will tell you that he or she is feeling best in his own chaos, however the truth is that the pluses of the ‘being-ordered’ are way more than just keeping your things in the second drawer, aligning your e-mails or hanging your clothes by color.
Order clears your mind.
Having a plan will allow you not to think of the details over and over again and to just keep going. The map is set, you just have to follow it. It’s like an exam for which you know you have something to say whatever the subject is, only even knowing it makes you feel more easy and calm. The idea of calming yourself and leaving ‘oh, My God, what will happen’ panic thoughts will really help you, because you will be more focused on a higher level of getting the grade. This is the reason why some people block in the exams, they just get scared of the situation itself, panicked not really knowing why due to the fact that they have not initially prepared any plan of ‘what to do’ in general even if they have eaten all the books there are. It needs order to calm and focus, nevermind how theoretically prepared you are.
Make that time investment in the beginning with the clear mind that it will save you precious time once you get on the track. Make the map of action, make a research, know your options and possibilities.
There is nothing scariest than the unknown so get to know your way.
Once the plan is there it’s action time! And there are some really good tricks you could use ahead!
Stay tuned for PART III of the article!

The Little Things That Matter in The Pursuit of Success
People are dreamers!
We have our dream and visualize ourselves in a world when it has become a reality, imagining how happy we would be and how that life-changing experience would magically change everything around.
The pursuit of a dream is like a race. Like every race it has it’s superstars and the participators that no one ever hears of. Of course, there are factors, which we can’t affect and which help the superstars such as luck or the chance to be at the right place at the right time. However, I deeply believe that the overall percentage these factors have in the end breakdown of “What It Takes To Be Successful” is usually low.
Tumblr media
The big difference comes from the things we can do, change, create, affect and teach ourselves into.
Even talent is something you need to work on. Yes, people are probably born different, let’s say our start level may vary in different areas. Some children tend to be better in drawing, others in math. Still, the development or working on a child's specific talent changes the whole situation. As a child and even teenager I used to draw really well but then afterwards my life went all about economics so I never practiced drawing. Guess what, a few years later my drawing skills are the same if not worse than the ones of a five year old child considered a possible gifted future painter.
Above I mentioned the luck to be at the right place at the right time but you know what, I may be partially wrong about the ‘force major’ character of that too. Indeed, luck is just luck, but still we all know that pushing our luck is actually something we need to do if we want to increase our chances of getting lucky. We need to intentionally seek the “right” places and the “right” time. When you push yourself into a research you know which these places and times are so you can “place” yourself there easier. The research is a thing we can affect, when to do it and how to do it in the most effective way - it all depends on us.
Now let’s go a bit back to the race that we goin into when pursuing success. Like every race this one has a starting point, various stages or levels and a finish.
The starting point is ‘discovering’ a dream.
I know it sounds weird, but actually the process of configuring what that dream is isn’t an easy job and eventually some of the race participants fail on the very start of the race.
Success itself is a wide term. What is success? Getting rich, having a great career, growing a family? I guess it is all of that. Still, at the beginning of the task of reaching our goal we need to clearly note what that goal is. What do we want? We need to know that before starting whatever because otherwise we will face the big risk of time and energy wasting in wrong directions. Blurry ideas are confusing and every confusion can be demotivating, confusing and delaying.
Get clear with yourself.
Yes, you may be over the top of energy in that moment but without clearing stating what you want to gain you may lose precious moments, hours, months or even years not being effective or doing something that gets you nowhere.
I can think of numerous examples from my personal experience. As a workaholic I always used to get myself going and start working over various reports, charts, graphics full of information which I thought being so consistent were really impressive. Well, most of the time I was wrong and not only I was losing myself somewhere in the process but in the end the result wasn’t so glamorous because I haven’t really been clear what I wanted these reports to show. It was all there and still even I wasn’t exactly sure about the final goal I wanted to reach, because in my ambition to start the work and ‘creation’ right here and right now I missed giving myself the very reason why exactly am I doing it, who am I creating it for, how that person will best use it and what data I need to put so to create the most value out of it.
So, at the start of your journey, the most important thing is to give yourself clear directions. What and why your goal is what it is and are you sure that’s what you really want. Once that’s done you will feel clear minded and one step closer to the prize. Having a view is what guarantees you a good start and, believe me, even only that will push you far ahead in the competition.
The race is just beginning. Next step - creating the most effective trace map!
Stay tuned for PART II of the article.

Top 5 Weekend Motivational Activities
Tumblr media
Happy Friday!
Let’s start the day with some motivational ideas which will make our weekend not only more pleasant but more effective too! Fill yourself with energy and inspiration, here they are:
5! Reading
Give the motivational self-help books a chance, it’s like with people - you can actually learn something from everywhere. Or pick some Clasic, great examples of attitude in there. Let them transfer you into another world and give some refreshing touch to your day. It’s always inspirational!
4! Shopping
This always works for me /and for every woman I guess/. But let’s leave the cliches, the shopping therapy exists and yes, it works for men too. When you get yourself something new and shiny your mood goes up. And more alive somehow, which automatically energizes us and makes us more active, of course, towards our goals.
3! Movies
Let them actors work for you, it’s influencing. Beautiful views, passionate conversations and great success stories - movies could give us the best examples we need to get ourselves going. And it’s sooo easily reachable, one click away. Use the cinema as a fuel!
2! Sport
You can’t miss it there. Besides all the health benefits that sport brings it also builds up your confidence, you discipline and your self esteem. And it makes you happy! Look at every training as an achievement or some task that should be completed. Once you start done-checking and progress you’ll feel powerful and addicted. The sport is the greatest drug there is, let your body and mind experience it and you will find a whole new world.
1! Conversation with an inspiring person
We all have that /at least/ one person that we respect a lot. Even secretly /or not/ we are trying to copy his or hers behaviour, the way he or she speaks, the attitude. Make yourself a present and have a ‘motivational’ coffee with that person which will inspire you for the rest of the day or even the week. It can become even more powerful if you actually share your admirations and let the person know how special he or she is. Everyone likes being liked!
Hugs!

The Power of Attitude
What is the first thing that you notice in someone you just meet? Of course, the way the person looks. But then, immediately after he or she starts communicating, the looks, the clothes and perfume leave the stage and your attention gets caught by something else. This almost magical element is something above the physical. Some may call it aura, others maybe a soul. I call it attitude.
Attitude = Style
Tumblr media
The attitude is what makes you attractive or not after the first five minutes of conversation or any kind of interaction. The attitude is who you are for the people around you, it’s your style. It is your ‘flavour’ as a person and that very special detail that represents what spice exactly are you. You may be the most attractive person in the world, but you will be considered differently if you are that chilly emotional-bomb or if you are the sweet calm vanilla. The emotion you bring with yourself builds up, it actually builds up a lot, crucially a lot. It is so important that it becomes you pushing the way you look back and becoming The-You for the other person.
In the eyes of the others your attitude becomes who you are
Attitude is in everything you do.
It sparkles around when communicating with people. There it can be sensed the strongest and it creates the most powerful impressions. Yes, it strikes the most in your first interactions with someone and afterwards it usually sticks with you forever - “Oh, yes, she is that person that is nervous and impatient”. Like a personal card - miss Anna Henderson, Accountant, Nervous and impatient, very picky.
Changing the first impressions isn’t impossible but it’s hard and if missed will always be doubtful. If you want to change the way you’ve presented yourself in the beginning of your connection with someone you should be really really persistent. Sometimes, if your attitude in the beginning has been kinda bad, you won’t even have a chance to ‘waive’ it because the person already wouldn’t be interested in meeting anyway.
This is crucial in the business relations - there is rarely a second chance.
Your attitude can be created by your work as well. It is your way of covering and persuading on-the-job tasks. Your ambition, your seriousness and punctuality - they all create an impression. The office life is a great part of our life in general plus the people hardly can manage to be someone completely different when at office and when at home. Generally, who you are in your everyday life is who you are in your job. And even in the rare cases that is not true and you succeed in being someone completely different - well, guess what, your colleagues don’t know or at least wouldn’t believe that. So for them, the people that you spend 80% of your time, you are what you present in the attitude towards your job tasks.
However, the most important form of attitude is your attitude to yourself
If you want to be motivated you have to have the right attitude.
If you want to be successful you have to have the right attitude.
If you want to look good you have to have the right attitude.
You just need it!
The good attitude to yourself shows self-respect. When you know how to care for yourself you are confident and consistent. You are motivated, you know what you want and you know what you deserve.
And it shows. Believe me, others see it and appreciate it. The people that respect themselves are always respected by others. And not only respected - they are envied, the others want to be like them, to be with them, they tend to copy their attitude because it gives style and identity. A personal touch that is that unique part that makes everything special.
Attitude is what you see in your favourite actor and once you get out of the cinema you kinda ‘live’ in the movie for a bit longer. Or when motivated by someone successful you give yourself that New Year's resolution.
Attitude is important, really important.

Stay Positive No Matter What
Tumblr media
Emotions are a great part of what we are. Along with the attitude and the style we have, they draw our “profile picture” to the people around us. Even further, the way we are accepted creates the Who-We-Are in a situation or place - for example in the office or among our friends, and immagine or not it has a lot to do with our motivation.
What Is The Connection Between Who We Are In The Eyes Of The Others And Our Motivation
Think of our social life as a circle of emotions and impressions. The way that others see you turns back their reaction towards you and everything you do. If you've gained a reputation of a serious and strict person, the interactions of others towards you will always take that into consideration. If you are never on time you better not expect that to pass unnoticed. Good impresion turns into respect, bad impression into disrespect.
What Goes Around Comes Around
Motivation is born with examples. Success is the food that motivation needs to grow and infuse you. As we have mentioned before, the best way to keep yourself motivated is to look for and to surround yourself with good examples. The more the better. How people act could be considered the best example because it happens LIVE there around you, therefore, the best thing you can do is to surround yourself with successful people. But! Successful people would not stick with just anyone, they will look for the best to add to their circle and surely wouldn’t be into negativity and lack of ambition.
Everyone is looking for positivity just because everyone needs light and hope. People need to find reasons to go on. They need to see happiness and smiles around them just as a confirmation that life is beautiful. Everybody on the planet will prefer to spend his or hers time with a positive person - rich, poor, sad. Successful people surely will want that. Wouldn’t you?
Be that positivism
So positive people are what we all want. There is an overall need for positive people because generally there is a difficite of such. What is the best ‘market’ decision that comes to mind then? The market needs positivism, be that positivism and the profitability is guaranteed! You’ll ‘monetize’ a successful friend circle, because the people will simply want to be with you. They will need your inspiration and you’ll have their examples. From here your motivation levels will go rocket high and let’s also add - your connections too.
That Rewarding Feeling
The good examples are not the only thing that will ‘feed’ your motivation. The act of surrounding yourself with all that success is an achievement itself. Every achievement is a prize that increases not only the inspiration you feel towards progress but also your confidence in yourself. Yes, you are the one that built it all and now you are one step closer to greater unthinkable dreams, because you can do it in your own eyes and you have proven it to yourself. Believing in yourself is the biggest prize out there that can make everything possible.
Real Life Examples
The CEO of my company is a very successful person. Yes, he is positive and he is proclaiming towards positivism in every possible occasion. Best way for promotion - be positive, be professional of course, but BE POSITIVE above all.
And it is true! Looking “officewise” the most respected people are the people that are always positive, even in the hardest situations. They are confident and they build confidence.
But even in a wider perspective - the most liked girls are the most positive ones, the preferred friends are the positive ones. Ask yourself - wouldn’t you like to spend your day with someone that will energize you or with someone that’s to drain your energy. And which one of these would you like to be yourself?
I always vote for positivism!

The Harder The Better
Sometimes motivation could be triggered by the weirdest things. It can pop up and show in a situation you could hardly imagine and describe as inspirational. Most of the people expect that the desire to achieve your goals enlightens them when they are generally happy and enjoying the moment, when they see no clouds in the sky to ruin the perfect picture of the reached success. And this is true! Happiness and joy open the door for motivation.
However, there are these other moments when the inspiration appears to us out of nowhere. The moments of struggle, effort and hard work that make us nervous are the last place that you expect to find a well of power, right? Well, believe me, you are wrong.
In fact, people usually get the most focused and motivated exactly when they have a hard time. Human brain and body get organised when there is nowhere to run to and when in a bit of stress. As the Belgian detective Poirot used to say “The little grey cells start to work”, same as the muscles actually if I may add.
Tumblr media
People hate to get out of their comfort zones by default. Few would enjoy overtime or over limit efforts, even fewer would enjoy that every day. The effort is always a struggle, a push against your mind and body desires. We are programmed to look for a way out of it, to get over with it and to do everything in our power to avoid it. Having an intense day, week or month in the office, having meetings that make you nervous or adding an extra 30 minutes to your training routine is a pure stress to the body and mind. In addition you ask yourself if you can do it or it will all end with failure.
In fact, such breaches are hardly impossible. They are just calling out our brains’ red lamp for getting in the unknown territory or, as previously mentioned, out of our comfort zone. How then can such moments be connected with motivation?
Achievement element
The hardest situations usually get us to the biggest results. They are our exams. Of course  this is a ‘two way’ result - it can go to a big prize or to a failure. A situation of a crash, I believe we have all read or heard, is the best teacher. Not only to our mistakes that have led us there, we also study how to handle the stress of that overwhelming moment. The stage fever gets one idea less frightening along with the panic. With the less panic comes the higher desire for success /or even only the idea that the second or third time's a charm/. And imagine if we win or when we finally win? It’s the greatest proof of our power, this is the ultimate and mightiest confidence builder and motivation fuel. The harder the task, the bigger the pride.
Keep the progress going
The truth is that in reality you can gain progress only by improving yourself, by facing harder and harder tasks along the way. The glorious effect of the victory is soon forgotten and taken as something normal, not only by the rest of the world but also by ourselves. Both our bodies and our brains need higher and more complicated goals with every achievement, otherwise there is no progress but only keeping the existing state. That stops the flow of satisfactions and, of course, the motivation fades.
Our bodies and minds get easily used to the relaxation state. They love being there because this is the comfort zone. One reached it gets more and more familiar and less and less challenging. Avoid that! When you feel you're somewhere near the getting bored when doing something, well, reach higher. The boredom is a sign of losing the progress tempo.
Always push yourself one idea more and you will feel the energy flow. Failures will turn to achievements, just don’t give up. After all, the only way you’ll get there is by keep trying, the only sure way not to reach your goal is to stop pursuing it. In any case, achievement or a failure, the movement leads to progress.
Keep yourself moving!

Let’s Talk Cinema
Make up, dreamy glances or gunfights, movies can be one of the most powerful ways to pump up your inspiration levels. That overwhelmingly charming favorite actor of yours that makes your heart bump with every line can actually be of a greater benefit to you than you have ever imagined. Dialogues, atmosphere, dreamy life - their magic is there to serve you and the only thing you need is to know how to get the best use of them. Don’t hesitate, give them your appreciation but in return use their power in your own road to success. Let the love be shared!
How to pick the right one
You need to get instantly motivated and you’re wondering what will be the best title that will get that feeling of ambition and power right here and right now. Don’t get lost with the remote control from the beginning, explore yourself first. Think how you feel today and why are you lacking motivation - is it because your mood is down? Or are you too lazy? Maybe the task that needs to be done is just the most boring thing and you just can’t push yourself in its way?
By such investigation you can find the right movie way easier - something cheering or a story for the life of a great athlete, get the one that fights what stops you today.
Old but gold
Everyone has his or hers favourite movie or even more than one. These are the characters and scenes that always make you smile nevermind you know them by heart with every intonation and dramatic pause in the dialogue. However, one is sure, everytime you watch it’s still like chocolate melted on a strawberry. Such movies always do the trick for me. Nevermind how bored or exhausted I feel in that moment, the beauty or the action fix it all and I instantly feel my energy and my motivation growing and turning into desire for life. So if you know which is your favourite and you know that it’s effect is proven, well, the only thing you need is to enjoy it once again.
There are various types of inspiration the cinema can bring and yes, it always depends on the type of movie you have picked.
Biscuit Sweet
Biscuit Sweet cinema includes the movies full of color. They are cheerful and intelligent, they don’t turn your mood down and amaze you with it’s witty humor. They are just like candy for your soul. These always do the trick for me, even the ones that I watch for a thousand times.
An example - Amelie! IMDB.com link - here!

Fast and Furious
You need movement, motion, some adrenaline in your blood, well, there is nothing better than a good action movie to get you going! Picking a right example of the genre could be a bit tricky, at least in my opinion there are a lot of really poor quality examples. Sometimes the effect can infuse you nevermind how mindless the scenario is, but still, the better - the better.
An example - Mad Max. IMDB.com link - here!
Tumblr media
Femme Fatale
… Homme Fatale for the gentleman. These movies are all about the character and personally, they are my favourite for motivation pumping. Usually those could be picked by the actor in the role in question, especially these actors that obviously put some of their own character in their character’s character - in my opinion Angelina Jolie is one of them. So who is the actor that makes your soul feel in heaven? Load his latest movie.
An example - Angel-A. IMDB.com link - here!

So now give yourself an hour and a half motivation break and let the cinema do its magic!

Motivation Deal-Breakers
Tumblr media
It’s really hard to push yourself into being consistent. Going after the so desired discipline and sticking with the plan of daily exercising, diet, self-educational course or an exam studying could be fun when it’s a brand new idea. The first few days it’s always amusing - you put on those check marks and the view of the ‘done’ written next to Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday in your calendar fills you with joy. The days or luckily the weeks go on.
And slowly but surely the goal starts losing its attraction
It’s exactly like living with someone. At first you’re excited, you can’t even imagine getting used to that feeling of a soulmate that’s always there - chopping tomatoes, laying next to you and watching movies. Nothing makes you angry, nevermind his socks are always in the middle of the living room or that he puts his empty glass everywhere but in the sink. You are sure that all those ‘magic will be gone’ talks from the magazines are just braggins of people who are extremely unsuccessful in keeping a relationship. And then a few years after you see yourself exactly there, maybe still happy, maybe in a perfect ‘home’ balance but always not in the ‘first days magic state’.
The same happens with your scheduled leading-to-success-activities.
You still realize that they are the right way and that they are what you need to get to the prize. But right then and there the daily deal-breakers happen:
Excuses;
Temptations;
Obstacles;
Pauses taking too long;
Boredom.
Excuses
Excuses are human brain’s favourite comfort food. Your brain is doing all it can to help the body and the mind escape from the suffering that you’re trying to put them through while completing your daily success routine. You cannot go outside and run because it’s raining and there is no evidence for a change in the forecast. And yes, the sky seems to you so grey, you are sure there is a storm coming. A home workout wouldn’t do good too, because… hey, these are always ineffective. So nothing can be done, the conditions are so and so and there you go, you’re skipping your training for today. Tomorrow you’ll double it.
It almost never works. You never double it tomorrow because maybe tomorrow it will be too windy.
Try to avoid such excuses. There is almost always a way not to skip the plan. One excuse always drags another.
Temptations
Oh, that chocolate block… After all, only one could not do harm. Or you just can’t say no to that cake that the friend you’re out with is so eagerly offering you. What if she gets offended by you not accepting it? You should go out running, but they’re just streaming your favourite movie. Running could wait a bit /usually until it gets too dark outside and the plan is ruined/.
Temptations are big deal-breakers. On top of that, the sinful pleasure that they bring is always short lasting and you end up blaming yourself into falling over. I always feel tricked after eating that extra piece of candy and realising that the feeling wasn’t worthed the fail in my regime.
Push yourself into resisting and you’ll be surprised how grateful and proud that will make you feel.
Obstacles
An appointment popped out exactly when your training was supposed to start. You know you can’t escape it and you already see your daily program as ruined.
Don’t surrender! Just put in a bit more of an effort and do them both! Yes, you may have to postpone the relaxation for the day but you surely won’t regret it and you’ll definitely be pleasantly surprised by yourself and your capabilities. After all, the more the task the better the engagement.
Pauses taking too long
Deal-breakers happen and sometimes, however rarely, you cannot do anything to help it. That flu hits you hard and you feel powerless, everything except resting is out of the question.
Well, don’t worry, take your time. The main problem isn’t in the pause itself, it’s in how long does this pause last. People tend to forget their beneficial habits after pauses. It’s the same as the after-holiday I-don’t-want-to-work-ever-again syndrome. Try to get back to your routine asap you start feeling better, slow down maybe, but don’t quit.
Boredom
Going through that lesson is simply so boring that you start calculating the chances of it appearing to the exam at all. Or even - if it does - how much will it affect your grade if you skip it. Usually, all these calculations take more time than actually reading the damn lesson and getting over with it.
Running for two hours, same track, same playlist. Could you just skip for today and tomorrow it will be better? Nope! Change the playlist but never surrender to the boredom. It’s the worst thing that you can let get you out of your way to success. Get something done differently just to make it appear new to your mind, but do  not skip the routine.
Breaking the deal-breakers does not only make you keep going. It does something far more valuable - it makes you feel proud of yourself and it shows you how far you can go. And believing in yourself is exactly the ground motivation and discipline need to grow stronger and stronger. Don't give up on them!

The Mighty Motivation Driver
Motivation could be ‘lightened’ by various factors. Besides the magic-alike inspiration, which infuses us and fills our soul with passion for success, there is another and if I may say, it’s my personal favourite - the good old Discipline.
It’s a bit scary even only writing the word Discipline, sounds a bit sterile, cold and somehow driven out an old dictatorship regime. However, believe me, it’s a precious ability and I say this from my own experience. It’s not a gift or a talen, not at all. More than anything else it could be trained. Actually, it depends on you much more than the ability to seek and find inspiration, in fact everything you need to have it is you and no outside factor.
So how did my love story with the Discipline begin?
I was in my early highschool years and I considered myself the regularly boring teenage girl, even not problematic just basic. Not angry or sad, more like… boring. I was a bit chubby /or not a bit considering the pictures that I have from that period/, I was doing ok at school - not popular or nerd, not achiever nor a poor student. And everything was going on day by day with me staying as much insignificant as I was the day before.
But one day something happened. I decided to put some more discipline in my life and to check how it will go. I started walking to school instead of using the bus, yes it took me two hours instead of one. And the hardest part of it all -  I did that everyday, always, walked despite the snow or rain. It was sometimes hard, I was in school all wet or freezing, I felt lazy realizing I had to walk back for 2 more hours, but it actually felt not only worthy, but also refreshing to achieve that goal every single day.
This changed me forever. Really! Not only the immediate effect of being powerful by doing something that the others did not have the will to do.
My body changed!
Physically I became, well, sexy. All that walking actually made me look great and that was noticed by the people around me. No need of saying how that reflected on my self esteem and confidence.
My mind changed!
I saw the results. I realised the results and I came to the conclusion that what the discipline made with my body could happen in every life aspect, it could surely bring you closer to success with everything you do.
Discipline makes you feel powerful
I did feel powerful with my body. Besides that I finally realized from that new point of view what my father used to tell me and by that moment I ignored as ‘bragging’ - when you are frightened or distant from something you are afraid or reluctant of doing it. Once you push yourself into doing it with no escapes allowed, you learn it and you master it. And then all the beauty starts raining on you. You feel like an expert, you’re sure in yourself, you know that no one could beat you because you have put that tremendous amount of effort that has shown you every little detail of what you’re into. You are then powerful, body and mind. You enjoy that power, you love doing that initially scary thing more and more. And after all, you know that the key to success is to love what you do.
The harder the scope, the less the competition
Most of the people never get out of their comfort zone, which means that the harder the thing you dive into and the deeper you go being disciplined, fewer and fewer people you will meet that could be of a concurention. And more and more of admirers, followers, success and money.
And of course, more and more of motivation for grow
But let’s put aside my experience. The discipline phenomenon is a subject of a lot of books, I just recently started to notice that fact. There was that one I read recently, it pointed out a lot of great names of our time and their way to success. The common thing was one - they all had put a lot of effort in building who they are, but not only that - they had put a lot of consistency! Inner talent was surely part of it, however, without discipline none could have made it. All of them, numerous hours spent learning and working on computer science or training exhaustingly. And it did pay off every time, like it paid off in my case.
Remember, it depends on you and you only. And it will lead you to the bluest sky!
